Chapter 106 Vera Visits Louis

There are so many things to do.

Louis dressed quickly, washed his face briefly, buttoned up his cape, and hurried into the office.

Before the door was even fully closed, he spoke: "Call Lambert."

As soon as he finished speaking, the attendants rushed off.

A moment later, Lambert strode in, and before he could speak, Louis gave the order:

"Take one hundred Crimson Tide Knights and immediately ambush outside the main gate of Crimson Tide Territory. The enemy is the elite of the Snow Oath."

He narrowed his eyes, his voice as cold as if it carried a knife: "Find the right opportunity, use sheer numbers to overwhelm them. You can keep a few prisoners for questioning, but kill the rest without mercy."

Lambert's heart skipped a beat, but without hesitation, he replied, "Yes, sir!"

The second order was issued immediately: "Summon three more knights and two physicians, take these guidelines, and proceed to Firwood Territory at once."

The attendant took the few pages of handwritten drafts that he had thrown on the table; even the handwriting was very messy.

“The most important thing is isolation.” Louis pointed to the first order on the draft, “Allocate manpower in Fir Territory and immediately begin construction of a batch of sealed cabins that can lock in heat.”

Anyone exhibiting symptoms of drowsiness will be centrally managed and isolated. They are strictly prohibited from wandering off or hiding; violators will be executed without exception.

What he just threw out was a "Hygiene and Health Operation Guidelines" that he had hastily written.

For example, the entire population is implementing the "boiled drinking water method," which requires drinking water to be thoroughly boiled.

Each person was given a piece of straw cloth to cover their mouth and nose. No matter how rough it was, it was to prevent the spread of droplets.

……

Upon receiving Louis's order, the guards immediately set off to assign tasks.

The third order was swiftly issued by Louis: "Summon some hunters and knights, prepare to depart. The target is the Fireback Turtle, located in the Red Tide Hot Spring Territory."

"Catch them if you can, kill them if you can't catch them. Their shells are very useful; you don't need too many, six or seven will do."

The attendants gave a brief reply and immediately went about their business.

Louis had just given his last order and was about to take a short break.

A guard quickly pushed open the door and entered, slightly out of breath: "Sir, a group of people has arrived outside."

“Hmm?” Louis raised an eyebrow.

The guard quickly added, "The leader claims to be Baron Vera and says he wants to visit you."

Louis was taken aback. They arrived so quickly?

At this moment, he suddenly became a little interested: "Let him in, but only two people are allowed. Also, tell Lambert to take action as soon as the three of them come in."

The guard bowed and accepted the order, then quickly withdrew.

…………

Ten minutes ago.

Outside the Red Tide Territory, a carriage slowly came to a stop.

Baron Vera, dressed in aristocratic attire, wore a smug smile.

But as soon as I got out of the car, I saw several fully armed Red Tide Knights blocking the intersection, brandishing their swords and showing no politeness.

"Halt," the lead knight said in a deep voice. "State your name and what business do you have?"

“Ha.” Vera raised her chin, her tone arrogant. “I am Baron Vera, here to pay my respects to Lord Louis, the Lord of the Crimson Tide.”

The knights exchanged glances, and one of them immediately turned and ran into the city to report.

Not long after, the man returned, panting: "Report! Lord Louis has agreed to an audience!"

Vera nodded in satisfaction.

“However,” the knight paused, “only three of your men can enter. The rest must remain outside the city to wait.” Hearing this, Vera’s expression darkened, but she forced herself to remain calm and said through gritted teeth, “Understood. I’ll go discuss it.”

He turned his horse around and led the men behind him to the side to whisper.

When facing the Snowsworn, Vera's arrogance vanished instantly, replaced by an extremely fawning smile, her back almost bent into a bow.

"Don't worry, gentlemen," he said obsequiously, "I'll lure Louis out, and then it'll be a piece of cake to take him down without even having to fight the town."

The female Snow Oathbringer was dressed in the standard armor of a noble knight, with cold and sharp eyes.

She hesitated for a moment, then nodded slightly: "Okay."

She then chose the Snowsworn Knight who looked the most composed and followed behind Vera.

Vera held her head high the whole way, her eyes filled with contempt for the Crimson Tide Knights.

The three rode their horses slowly toward the gate of Red Tide City.

However, shortly after they left, the Crimson Tide Knights, who had been lying in ambush, surged out like a tide.

A hundred or so fully armed Crimson Tide Knights quickly surrounded the Snow Oathbrooks before they could react.

After a brief period of chaos, the land was stained red with blood.

These Snow Oath elites fought desperately, but under the overwhelming power of the enemy, all their struggles were in vain.

The Red Tide Knights originally intended to spare at least a few lives, but these Snow Oathbrood knew they couldn't escape, so they activated Bloodlust Berserk in an attempt to exchange for more people.

However, the disparity in numbers was too great, and they were simply worn down and killed.

Moreover, a group of bound nobles were rescued in time amidst the chaos. A total of twelve people were rescued, and although they suffered from frostbite and shock, they were still alive.

Meanwhile, Vera and her two companions, led by the Red Tide Guards, strolled leisurely through the town.

They were completely unaware that the troops behind them had already perished in the cold wind, their blood staining the barren land red.

Moreover, the guards around them were not ordinary followers, but all of them were elite knights.

On the surface, they appear to be respectfully guiding the way, but in reality, they are always on guard, ready to strike and kill at the first sign of trouble.

Smoke curled from chimneys along the streets, and pedestrians, dressed neatly, walked briskly.

Children's laughter echoed, and an old man sat in front of his door basking in the thin winter sun. Occasionally, passing teenagers would see the knight and bow respectfully.

Vera looked at the smoke rising from the chimneys and smiling faces on the street, but a strong sense of disgust welled up inside her.

He couldn't stand seeing these ordinary people living a good life.

In his eyes, these lowly people should be kneeling and struggling in the mud, not like the people here, dressed in clean clothes and smiling in the sun.

That smile stung his eyes.

Vera sneered inwardly. Louis was truly an incompetent lord, completely clueless about how to utilize his people.

But on the surface, he still pretended to be nonchalant and continued to move forward with the Red Tide Guards.

The female leader of the Snow Oath tribe beside him lowered her head slightly, a hint of disgust and distortion flashing in her eyes.

As a sworn enemy, she wished she could kill all of these people.

Finally, they were led to a castle.

The castle was far beyond their expectations. It stood with massive cylindrical structures, and its overall structure was a simple and rough stone building. It was ugly, yet it exuded a chilling sense of oppression.

If we were to attack a place like this, I wonder how much it would cost to take it.

The female leader couldn't help but grit her teeth, her mood becoming even heavier.

She decided that she would kill Louis the moment she had the chance, in case he hadn't been tricked into leaving.
