Mystery: The Last Shepherd

Chapter 30 Lanius, pregnant!
Late at night, in the square in front of the inpatient building of the Tingen City Asylum.

Lanius casually placed his fiancée on a table in the square, leaving her beautiful face in direct contact with the cold surface.

"This is essentially an altar."

He pointed to the table.

"this,"

He pointed at Lu Ze and said, "It's like a sacrifice."

"Who are you, and what are you doing here!"

From the other side of the square came the sound of hurried running. A man who looked like a guard from an asylum ran over and shouted.

Lanius paused, glanced at the guard, then put on a sincere smile, "Ah, I'm so sorry, my fiancée suddenly fell ill, and I rushed in to save her."

"Then hurry and get her inside. There should be a doctor on duty." Hearing this, and seeing the girl was unconscious, the guard's vigilance lessened considerably. "I'll give you directions."

Before he could finish speaking, Lanius swiftly rushed to him and plunged a gleaming dagger into his heart.

The guard was completely unprepared for the attack; he convulsed a few times, his face contorted, and then died.

"puff."

Lanius drew his dagger, and blood gushed from the wound, splattering all over his face and body.

Why didn't you wait for me to make a move?

Hud Eugen was furious. "Haven't you caused enough trouble already?!"

"Ah, sorry, sorry, it's his fault for spoiling my fun," Lanius said casually, pointing to the guard's corpse. "Since it's such a coincidence, let's use him as a sacrifice."

Lu Ze never expected that the guard would take a knife for him.

The night wind blew, and his heart grew colder as he watched the two begin preparing the altar. Lanius enlarged the guard's wound, causing his blood to pool on the ground. Hud Eugen, meanwhile, erected a spiritual wall, severing the connection between the inside and outside.

"Take it, and hold it high."

Lanius handed the gas lamp to Luze, who feigned ignorance, obediently taking it and holding it high above his head. The orange light illuminated the space around the table, where an unconscious blonde girl lay, and beneath the table lay the bleeding body of a guard.

"I'm going to wake up my fiancée. Use your abilities to hypnotize her."

He then spoke to Hud Eugen.

Seeing the girl nod, he patted her face. His hands were covered in blood, and several horrifying bloodstains appeared on the girl's beautiful face.

"Hmm, where am I?"

The girl woke up groggily, but when she opened her eyes, she heard a clear bell sound, and immediately became dazed again.

“Megoss, my dear fiancée, it’s me.”

Lanius whispered in the girl's ear in the sweet tone of lovers, while smearing the stench of the dead man's blood on her face, "Look, aren't we in our own bed at home now?"

"Lan Er Wu Si"

The girl's name seemed to be Megaius. Hearing her fiancé's voice, a happy smile spread across her dreamy face. "I love you so much."

"I love you too."

Lanluus dipped his finger in blood and rapidly drew eerie and insane patterns on the table—a magic circle used to summon an evil god. Hude Eugen stood to the side, listening to Lanluus's sweet words and watching his actions, a look of disdain in his eyes.

Luze glanced at the magic circle out of the corner of his eye and was surprised to find that Lanluus had drawn it so quickly and accurately. The magic circle had three centers: one for the caster Lanluus, one for the receiver Megoos, and the last one, of course, for the descendant, the true creator, represented by his holy symbol.

"Is it ready?" Hood Eugen asked nervously as he watched the blood-drawn magic circle gradually take shape.

"All right."

After finishing the last stroke, Lanius jumped to where he was supposed to stand, then leaned down to Megaius and said, "My dear, I want to have a child with you."

His tone was very emotional, but his eyes remained completely unmoved.

"Lanius, I'd do anything for you."

Poor Megas had no idea that, under hypnosis, she smiled shyly with dazed eyes.

Seeing the mocking smile return to Laneus's lips, Luze stood up and prayed aloud in Hermes:

"The Creator of all things"
The ruler behind the veil of shadows

The fallen nature of all living beings.”

The world grew dark and silent. The blood on the magic circle became an intense crimson, especially the holy emblem representing the true creator—the simple rose drawing seemed almost alive, swaying under the gaslight. The corpse of the dead guard slowly blended into the darkness, disappearing without a trace.

Lanius took out an iron box from his pocket, and released the spiritual wall that sealed the box. A heavy, almost tangible resentment emanated from the iron box.

“This is an extreme emotion collected from the slums through rituals.”

He explained to Hud Eugen with a smile, but the latter just pursed his lips, his face pale, and didn't say anything, with a few drops of sweat seeping from his forehead.

"Don't be nervous."

Even at this moment, Lanius remained relaxed, saying, "The ceremony will go smoothly."

He placed the box on the emblem of the True Creator, opened the lid, and black resentment surged out and scattered. But before the black energy could dissipate, a blood-red glow suddenly shone on the magic circle, drawing the black energy back in. The black energy gathered and gradually formed a shape.
It appears to be a human figure.

The figure slightly turned its head, as if scanning everyone with non-existent eyes. Perhaps it was Lu Ze's imagination, but that gaze lingered on him for a fleeting moment.

boom!
Lu Ze's mind was once again struck by the shock, but fortunately the tide had appeared in advance and withstood most of the tremors. Without a doubt, this phantom was from the real creator!
Upon seeing the dark figure, Hood Eugen took a step back in surprise, but still held onto the bell tightly.

"here you go."

Lanius praised him, then, gazing at the indistinct shadowy figure, continued chanting in Hermes:
"May the Lord's love continually walk on earth, and may the Lord bestow His blessings, bringing divine offspring to pure maidens."

As the prayers were being chanted, the black figure made another move. He raised his arm, extended his index finger, and a pure yet corrupt glimmer of light flew from his fingertip, slowly drifting toward the lying Megas.

Lu Ze sensed extreme danger in that faint light; without a doubt, it was a glimpse of the true Creator's divinity!
Megose was still lost in her beautiful dream, calling out her lover's name, completely unaware that disaster was about to befall her.

"A gift from God!"

Lanius stared intently at the beam of light with greedy and excited eyes, watching expectantly as it flew toward his fiancée.

The ceremony, the ceremony is about to be completed!

Just then, Lu Ze moved without warning.

With a few quick strokes, he pressed his fingers on the magic circle, which was stained with the blood of the magic circle, and began to draw quickly and accurately. With just a few strokes, he changed the original pattern of the magic circle and reversed the positions of the caster and the recipient.

Lanius was gaping, filled with ecstatic anticipation as divinity descended upon his fiancée, when suddenly he saw the beam of light veer off course and fly into his mouth.

With a gulp, he unconsciously swallowed it.
