Mystery: The Last Shepherd

Chapter 29 Son of God

Chapter 29 Son of God
Luze pretended to be under control, but secretly he was eavesdropping on the conversation between Lanius and Hud Eugen. As he listened, he gradually figured out their situation.

It turns out that Hud Eugen is an extraordinary individual from a mysterious organization called the "Psychological Alchemy Society." He entered this asylum not because he was mentally ill, but because of his need to process his own magical potions—a process he calls "acting."

As for Lanius, he was also an extraordinary being whose path and sequence were unknown. He fabricated the iron ore investment scam, partly to plunder money and partly to play his own role.

The two knew each other before, and their relationship was one of mutual exploitation.

Good heavens, you all know how to use "playing" to digest potions, but I, the official Extraordinary, was kept in the dark!

Lu Ze was itching to get his teeth clean.

He began to sense something was wrong. These two extraordinary individuals, whose origins were unknown, were definitely stronger than him. If they discovered that he was an official extraordinary individual, his situation would be extremely dangerous.

Thinking of this, he had no choice but to continue pretending to be controlled, while secretly thinking about how to deal with it.

In this situation, the best outcome is for Lancer to leave after talking with Hood Eugen, and for Luzer to pretend he knows nothing. Once he's discharged from the hospital the next day, he should immediately return to headquarters, call the captain, and have Dunn lead a large force to capture Hood Eugen before capturing Lancer.

Unfortunately, reality rarely meets people's expectations.

“Alright, that’s enough of our reminiscing.” Lanius placed the lantern on the bedside table, but kept his bag in his hand. “I called you here because I need your help with something. I think you’ll be willing to help me.”

"Tell me what it is first."

Hud Eugen became alert.

"Have you heard of the Aurora Club? I got something really good from them."

"You don't want your life!"

Hud Eugen's body jolted, as if pricked by a needle, and his voice involuntarily rose, "How dare you associate with that bunch of lunatics! Do you know that the official Extraordinary beings in Tingen City are almost uprooting the local Aurora Society!"

"Hey, calm down, my friend."

Lanius, however, was completely unconcerned. Instead, he changed to a more seductive tone and asked Hud Eugen, "Don't you want to advance further in the sequence, or have the chance to reach a higher sequence in this lifetime?"

Hud Eugen was taken aback upon hearing this.

Lanius stood up, the lantern's light illuminating his body and casting a huge black shadow on the wall behind him. For a moment, it seemed as if that shadow was his true form.

"Hud Eugen, this is the worst of times, and the best of times. If we can seize the opportunity, we too can become the masters of the world and become true immortals!"

"If you provide assistance, I will not only tell you how to master the power of the potion and avoid losing control, but I also promise to grant you a bit of divinity in the future—immortal divinity!"

"You should be able to see who is behind me. My promise is His promise, and the Psychological Alchemy Society is, in a sense, also related to Him."

"Do not doubt that the Psychological Alchemy Society is not powerful enough to provide you with sufficient assistance unless you are willing to remain at your current level forever."

Lanius laughed maniacally, speaking in a magnetic voice with seductive allure, "So, what's your answer? Help me, or not?"

In the quiet hospital room, Hud Eugen's heavy breathing could be heard; clearly, he was tempted.

idiot.

Lu Ze thought to himself.

This Lanius is clearly an extremely cunning swindler; he must have used similar tactics to lure investors. If Hud Eugen believed his lies, he would likely end up as a discarded pawn after being used.

"Tell me, what exactly do you want to do?"

Hud Eugen took the bait.

Lu Ze noticed a barely perceptible upward curve at the corners of Lanluus's mouth. He pulled out a manuscript and showed it to the other man, "This is a miraculous ritual from the Aurora Society, capable of enabling mortal women to conceive the offspring of gods!" What!
Luze was shocked and almost shouted out, but fortunately Hud Eugen was even more out of control and attracted Laneus's attention, preventing him from giving himself away.

"You're really crazy!"

Hud Eugen almost screamed. He was so panicked that he even wanted to refuse Lanius, who had to use persuasive tactics again to get him to hesitantly agree.

He's a complete madman.

Lu Ze thought to himself.

He searched his memory for the ritual. Essentially, the ritual involved a woman as the cradle, fueled by the resentment of countless humans, praying for the projection of the true Creator to descend and conceive a child within her. Afterward, the woman would experience normal pregnancy symptoms until delivery.

But how could a mortal body bear the offspring of an evil god? Therefore, at the moment of the divine child's birth, the mother who gave birth to Him would become His first sacrifice. Afterwards, the divine child would unleash a great catastrophe, plunging the world into fear.
Cruel, sinister, insane!

“I’ve prepared everything. All you have to do is hypnotize the woman and get her to cooperate with our ritual,” Lanius said with a completely unashamed smile. “Hurry up and go. Her carriage has been waiting downstairs for a long time.”

Hud Eugen had no choice but to stand up and follow Lanius, who had picked up the gas lamp again, outside.

Lu Ze pretended to be dazed, his eyes unfocused, and let them brush past him.

Hurry up and leave, so I can report you.
"Oh right, I heard that the success rate of the ritual is higher if there is a living sacrifice, so let's try it with him."

Just then, Lanius suddenly turned back, pointed at Luzer, and said to Hud Eugen.

What the hell?
You son of a bitch, are you sick?!

Luze cursed inwardly as he watched Hud Eugen ring the bell again and say to him, "Come on."

Left with no other choice, he could only pretend to be controlled and follow them downstairs in a daze.

The hospital building was dark and eerie at night. Their footsteps echoed in the corridor. After going down the stairs and stepping out of the building, Lu Ze saw that the gate of the mental hospital was open and a carriage was parked outside.

Lanius walked over alone, carried a young woman out of the carriage, and then returned to them with light steps.

This is a beautiful girl with long golden hair, who is currently half-opening her eyes, seemingly unconscious.

"Who is this?"

Hud Eugen frowned and asked, "Where did you get this?"

"She?"

Lanius tilted his head and thought for a moment, "It seems like those idiots arranged my fiancée?"

"Are you serious, fiancée?"

Hud Eugen asked in surprise.

"Of course I'm serious."

Lanius placed the girl on the stone table in the open space, reached out and patted her cheek, "She loves me so much, of course I want to give her the most wonderful experience in the world."

What a beast!

In the darkness, Lu Ze clenched his fist slightly.

Since that's the case, then don't blame me for being ruthless.
