Chapter 31 Resurrection
Since the start of the ceremony, Luzer had been thinking about how to resolve the conflict between Lancer and Hud Eugen.

A direct confrontation is definitely not an option. With two extraordinary individuals against him, plus a magical item, even with his cheat-like abilities, his chances of winning are slim.

Just as he was about to pick it up despite the pain, Luzer, who had already drawn his revolver from its holster, rushed over and smashed the butt of his rifle into Hud Eugen's face.

"I was lying to you." The corpse fell to the ground, and Luze answered, looking into Hud Eugen's unseeing eyes. He was joking, wasn't he? He'd just wanted to use him as a human sacrifice; did he really think Luze would spare him?

After dealing with Hud Eugen, Luzer turned to look at Lanius, who was still struggling on the ground.

Lanius clutched his stomach, groaning in agony. One lumps after another sprouted from beneath his skin, turning his once ordinary face into a grotesque and terrifying mask. It seemed he was not destined to enjoy the gods' blessings; it was likely that in time, he would completely lose control.

Seeing Lanius's miserable state, Luze felt no sympathy. Such a lovely girl loved him, and not only did he not appreciate it, but he even exploited her love, intending to turn her into a breeding ground for evil gods. Luze held his revolver steady, cautiously approached Lanius, and aimed at his head.

Lanius screamed and writhed, unable to utter a word, but when he looked at Luze, his eyes were filled with malice and madness, like a wild beast trapped in a cage.

Lu Ze calmly met his gaze, then pulled the trigger.

The demon-hunting bullet pierced Lanius's forehead, leaving a blood-red bullet hole.

Lanius stopped struggling and lay motionless on the ground.
