Chapter 207 Kiss

The torrential rain began to pour down without warning, the dense raindrops violently pounding against the roof and windows of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, producing a dull and continuous roar.

Outside the car window, the night view of Beijing was distorted and blurred in the rain, leaving only flowing spots of light and swaying tree shadows.

Inside the car, the air conditioning system dutifully maintained a dry and comfortable temperature, creating a completely different world from the torrential rain and wind outside.

The car stereo was silent, with only the sound of rain, the low hum of the engine, and the almost stagnant air flowing between the two.

Yan Jin sat in the passenger seat, her face turned to the window, her jawline taut.

She had just finished an intense academic conference, and her mental fatigue had not yet dissipated when the sudden downpour and the subtle atmosphere inside the car made her even more uneasy.

Jiang Xun steadily controlled the steering wheel, the windshield wipers moving quickly and rhythmically across the windshield, slicing through curtains of water.

His gaze would occasionally sweep over the woman beside him; the cool, refreshing fragrance emanating from her, like plum blossoms after a snowfall, mingled with the damp smell of leather and rain inside the car, silently stimulating his senses.

Several days have passed since their last intimate encounter, and the two seem to have returned to a normal distance. But in reality, they both know very well that the distance between them has long since become blurred.

Jiang Xun knew that Yan Jin was like a piece of warm jade encased in solid ice. It seemed cold and hard, but inside it hid an unknown softness and warmth. It just required extremely patience and a precise approach to touch it.

The car drove into a relatively quiet tree-lined road, where tall sycamore trees swayed in the wind and rain, their branches and leaves rustling as they rubbed against each other, adding to the sense of seclusion and privacy.

Jiang Xun slowed the car down even further, almost gliding along.

His left hand rested on the steering wheel, while his right hand seemed to hang down unintentionally, his fingertips lightly brushing the edge of the center console before, very naturally and tentatively, covering Yan Jin's hand resting beside the seat.

The cool, delicate touch, like that of fine jade, came instantly.

Yan Jin's body stiffened abruptly, as if struck by an invisible electric current.

She almost immediately tried to pull her hand away, but Jiang Xun's fingers, with undeniable strength, gently closed in, enveloping her slightly cool fingertips in his palm. His movements were light, yet carried an irresistible domineering force.

“Teacher Yan,” Jiang Xun’s voice sounded particularly low and slightly hoarse in the rain, “Why are your hands so cold?”

His gaze remained fixed on the rain-blurred road ahead, as if it were just a casual question, but the warmth and slight tightening of his palm betrayed his true intentions.

Yan Jin's heartbeat suddenly became erratic, and her chest felt as if it were being tightly gripped by something, making her somewhat panicked.

She tried to pull her hand back forcefully, but Jiang Xun's palm was as firm as an iron clamp, with a kind of persistence that made her feel flustered and uneasy.

She didn't dare turn to look at him, and could only purse her lips tightly, her clear voice trembling slightly: "Let go."

"I won't let go." Jiang Xun's answer was crisp and decisive, with a hint of a smile, yet it made him seem even more assertive.

His thumb even began to gently caress the smooth back of her hand; the subtle friction, like a feather with sparks, ignited the heat hidden beneath her skin, burning all the way to her heart.

"Jiang Xun!" She finally turned her head, a faint blush spreading across her beautiful face. Behind her glasses, her eyes held a mixture of embarrassment, panic, and a hint of...water that she herself was unaware of.

"We're not at school, and we're not in the lab." Jiang Xun finally turned to look at her, his deep eyes appearing particularly unfathomable in the dim car light, burning with an undisguised fire.
“It’s just you and me here, Yan Jin.” He deliberately slowed his speech, uttering her name with a deep, magnetic tone, like a feather brushing against her eardrums.

His gaze lingered aggressively on her lips. Her lips were beautifully shaped, a natural pale pink, and now, slightly pursed in nervousness and embarrassment, they gleamed alluringly moist in the dim light of the car. Jiang Xun's Adam's apple bobbed, and he leaned slightly towards her.

Yan Jin's heart nearly leaped out of her chest. She clearly saw the undisguised desire in his eyes, a flame that threatened to consume her.

She instinctively tried to back away, but the passenger seat had limited space, and her back was pressed tightly against the door.

She could even feel the heat emanating from his body and his refreshing yet aggressive masculine aura, domineeringly invading her senses.

"No..." The words of refusal had barely left his mouth when Jiang Xun leaned over.

His kiss, with undeniable force and burning heat, landed precisely on her lips.

"Ugh!" Yan Jin's mind went completely blank for a moment.

All resistance, all rationality, all the cold shell, were shattered at this moment by this sudden kiss.

……

The kiss lasted a long time, and Yan Jin seemed to be completely lost in it. Jiang Xun's hand, which was originally on the back of her neck, began to slowly move down.

A large, scorching hand, through the thin cashmere fabric, caressed her slender waist, then tentatively, with a clear purpose, moved upwards.

This action was like a bucket of ice water, instantly waking Yan Jin from his confused state of mind!

"No!" She suddenly woke up and pushed Jiang Xun away with all her might. She was breathing heavily, her chest heaving. Her originally cold eyes were now watery, her cheeks were as red as the sunset, and her lips were swollen and moist from being kissed. She exuded a charm that was both shocking and extremely alluring.

She looked at Jiang Xun, her eyes filled with panic, shame, and a hint of inexplicable guilt.

The atmosphere inside the carriage instantly sombered, leaving only the two men's heavy breathing and the sound of the torrential rain outside the window.

Yan Jin glanced tentatively at Jiang Xun, seemingly wanting to see his reaction. But all she saw were Jiang Xun's deep, unfathomable eyes, quietly watching her. There was no disappointment, no anger; his calmness made Yan Jin feel uneasy.

Just then, Yan Jin did something that even shocked herself.

She took a deep breath, as if she had made up her mind, leaned forward slightly, and took the initiative to move closer.

Under Jiang Xun's slightly surprised gaze, she quickly, with a hint of clumsiness and determination, pressed her lips to his.

It was a fleeting kiss, like a dragonfly skimming the water, gone in an instant.

It was so fast that it was almost an illusion.

"I'm sorry..." she whispered, her voice barely audible, filled with deep shame and panic.

After saying that, she immediately turned her head and looked out the window again, as if the kiss had never happened. However, her clenched fists and slightly trembling shoulders betrayed her inner turmoil.
