Chapter 206 Reunion

The seminar began quickly. After a brief opening by Professor Zheng, the moderator, various academic reports were presented in turn. When it was Yan Jin's turn, the venue became noticeably quieter.

She rose and walked to the podium with a composed gait.

Opening the PowerPoint presentation, a clear voice rang out through the microphone, concise, precise, and logical, breaking down complex cutting-edge algorithms as if they were precise machine blueprints.

Formulas, data flow diagrams, and simulation results scroll rapidly across the large screen.

Jiang Xun's gaze followed her, admiring her confidence and brilliance as she stood under the academic spotlight.

When the innovative iterative optimization algorithm framework he proposed was introduced in detail, Yan Jin paused deliberately and glanced in his direction, a glance that carried a tacit confirmation.

The report was a great success, and the Q&A session was very lively. Several pointed technical questions came at her, which Yan Jin answered fluently and concisely.

Finally, a middle-aged man, whose title was Chief Scientist of an AI Lab at a major company, pushed up his glasses and looked directly at Jiang Xun:

"Professor Yan, one of the innovative points of the core algorithm in your report was proposed independently by Jiang Xun from your research group? I am very interested in how to effectively prevent model oscillation caused by information overload when dealing with large-scale real-time user feedback streams. This has always been a bottleneck in dynamic recommendation systems."

The question was very hardcore, directly targeting the core code module of Jiang Xun's unpublished paper. All eyes in the room immediately turned to it.

Yan Jin didn't offer to answer on Jiang Xun's behalf. She stepped aside to give up the microphone and gestured to Jiang Xun with her eyes, her gaze filled with pure trust.

Jiang Xun stood up, his posture upright, showing no sign of nervousness.

Instead of answering directly, he turned around and quickly wrote down a series of simplified iterative formulas and a diagram of dynamic equilibrium constraints on the whiteboard.

"Thank you for your question." His voice wasn't loud, but it was clear and steady, carrying the sharpness unique to young people.

"The core solution lies in introducing a priority filtering layer based on real-time entropy evaluation of streaming data, and replacing the traditional single-threshold hard truncation with an adaptive dual-threshold mechanism, just like shown on the whiteboard..."

His words were precise, his logic was logically connected, and he explained the core innovative ideas in the most concise way. He answered the questions while cleverly retaining the key technical details, striking the perfect balance.

His clear explanations, exceptional comprehension, and academic expertise far beyond his years prompted the questioner to nod frequently.

A murmur rippled through the room, and the gazes directed at Jiang Xun shifted from curiosity and inquiry to astonishment and admiration.

Sitting in the back row of the venue, Zhang Tiantian, who had just finished a keynote speech on "Human-Computer Interaction Model Driven by Artistic Expression" and received a lot of applause, kept an eye on what was happening in the front row.

When Jiang Xun stood up and spoke eloquently under the dazzling lights, her demeanor calm and confident, her thoughts clear and sharp, her eyes lit up, as if she had captured the most unique starlight in the dark night.

She sat up slightly, her fingers unconsciously stroking the conference name tag hanging on her chest.

……

The lengthy formal meeting finally came to an end, and we entered a tea break for free-flowing conversation.

The connecting corridor outside the luxurious lecture hall had been transformed into a buffet area, where exquisite pastries and fruit drinks emitted an enticing sweet aroma. People gathered in small groups, chatting quietly. Jiang Xun politely dealt with several researchers and professors who expressed great interest in his algorithm, and was now looking for Yan Jin.

Turning around, a slender figure, carrying a sweet fragrance, gracefully appeared before me.

"Jiang Xun, it's nice to see you again."

The clear and bright voice was like a mountain stream.

Zhang Tiantian stood there gracefully, a bright and radiant smile on her face, a smile that overlapped with the one she had boldly asked for QQ numbers outside the gates of the Beijing Dance Academy a few months ago on New Year's Eve, only now she exuded even more confidence and brilliance.

She changed out of the more formal off-white suit she wore during her speech and into a champagne-colored silk shirt with a neat cut that was both stylish and lively, paired with black high-waisted wide-leg pants, which accentuated her slender waist and upright posture.

Her long, slightly wavy hair cascaded over her shoulders; her makeup was exquisite; her eyes were clear and bright; and her graceful movements exuded the unique dynamism of a dancer.

"Student Zhang? What a coincidence." Jiang Xun was somewhat surprised, then gave a gentle and polite smile, his gaze lingering on her for a moment without being noticed.

"I just listened to your report, and it was very inspiring. Integrating dance language into interaction design is a very novel approach."

"Thank you for the compliment! I'm nowhere near as good as you." Zhang Tiantian blinked, her smile widening, and she confidently pointed a finger towards the podium where Jiang Xun had just stood, making no attempt to hide her admiration.

"Your presentation was truly impressive, it got me really fired up. Those questions from some of the experts were so tricky, but you just stood there, rattling off formulas and explaining everything so clearly. Wow, that was amazing!"

Her tone was cheerful and her speech was fast, with a warm and familiar manner that was not off-putting but rather made people feel that she was very sincere.

Her intelligence, vivacity, radiance, and natural grasp of information create a unique attraction that blends wonderfully with her athletic physique, like a rose blooming in a technological jungle, full of vitality and contradiction.

The academic exchange activity was drawing to a close. Jiang Xun found Yan Jin, who was alone by the window looking at the campus scenery outside, and whispered, "Professor Yan, it's almost over here."

"Hmm." Yan Jin turned around, her gaze not lingering on Jiang Xun's face for long, and walked straight towards the parking lot. The evening breeze ruffled her meticulously styled hair, a few unruly strands swaying gently at her temples.

On the way back, the sky had completely darkened. Along the intercity highway, the neon lights of the city were just coming on, casting flowing ribbons of light on the car windows. The air was damp; the predicted night rain seemed to be brewing.

The car stereo was silent, with only the rhythmic sound of tires rubbing against the road. A faint, cool pine scent filled the car, the usual aroma in Yan Jin's car.

Yan Jin sat in the passenger seat, quietly looking out the window. Her profile appeared even more aloof and distant under the dim light of the dashboard.

Jiang Xun turned his head to look at her, then he stretched out his finger and seemingly unintentionally flicked the blades of the air conditioner vent hanging in front of him, making a soft "click" sound.

Then, he lowered his hand very naturally, his fingers lightly resting on the back of Yan Jin's hand that was resting beside the chair.

The cool, smooth touch of skin came through.
