Chapter 208 Liu Yifei

Jiang Xun was stunned.

The fleeting soft touch at the corner of her mouth was like a pebble thrown into a lake, rippling out complex waves.

He watched her straighten up again, her back filled with stubbornness and aloofness, her ears flushed red, and savored the light kiss that carried both apology and reassurance. The slight displeasure at being interrupted vanished instantly, replaced by an indescribable satisfaction and a deeper flutter in his heart.

This woman... is so adorably awkward.

He didn't press further, but silently curled the corners of his lips and started the car again.

The windshield wipers started swinging rhythmically again, slicing through the water.

Silence returned to the carriage, but the previous tense atmosphere had vanished, replaced by a tacit, more intimate and ambiguous feeling.

Yan Jin was still looking out the window, but her tense body had clearly relaxed a lot.

The car eventually stopped in front of the upscale apartment building where Yan Jin lived.

The rain showed no signs of letting up; large raindrops pounded on the ground, splashing up a cloud of water mist.

"We're here." Jiang Xun stopped the car and turned to look at her.

Yan Jin did not get out of the car immediately. She remained silent for a few seconds, seemingly calming herself down.

Then, she unbuckled her seatbelt, picked up her bag from her lap, and resumed her usual composure, only her slightly reddened ears and slightly disheveled hair betraying the intensity of what had just happened.

"Thank you," she said softly, her voice already cool and clear, as if the dramatic struggle that had just taken place in the car had never happened.

She pushed open the car door, and a damp, cold wind mixed with rain instantly rushed in.

Jiang Xun watched her prepare to get out of the car and suddenly said, "The umbrella is in the trunk."

Yan Jin paused for a moment, but didn't turn around: "No need, it's just a few steps." After saying that, she stepped directly into the rain and walked quickly towards the apartment building lobby.

The cold rain pelted her, cooling her burning cheeks and chaotic thoughts slightly.

She didn't turn around, but she could clearly feel the burning gaze behind her, following her back until she disappeared into the building.

Jiang Xun watched her figure disappear before slowly withdrawing his gaze.

He leaned back in his seat, his fingers unconsciously stroking the steering wheel, savoring the lingering fragrance on his lips and the apologetic kiss, a meaningful smile curving his lips.

The calmer and more composed this woman appeared on the surface, the more fascinated he became by the turmoil within her.

……

The next morning, the sky over Beijing was clear and bright after the rainstorm, and the sun was so bright it was almost dazzling.

Jiang Xun had just finished dealing with company emails when his phone rang, and the name "Tang Yufei" appeared on the screen.

"Hey, busy man, what are you doing?" Tang Yufei's energetic voice, tinged with a lazy laugh, came from the other end of the phone.

"Just finished. Miss Tang, what are your instructions?" Jiang Xun leaned back in her chair, her tone relaxed.

"I wouldn't dare give you instructions, I just wanted to invite you out to relax," Tang Yufei said with a smile. "The weather is so nice today, it would be such a waste to stay cooped up in the office. How about we go play at my golf course? I just got it, the environment is absolutely top-notch."

"Golf?" Jiang Xun raised an eyebrow. He wasn't particularly interested in the sport, but Tang Yufei's invitation, especially to her "newly acquired" golf course, usually signaled something. "Just the two of us?"

"What, afraid I'll eat you up?" Tang Yufei chuckled. "Don't worry, I brought a friend with me. I'll introduce you to her; she's a real beauty!"

"Oh? Which beauty could catch Miss Tang's eye?" Jiang Xun asked, following her lead.

"You'll see when you get here, I guarantee you'll be amazed." Tang Yufei kept him in suspense. "I've sent you the address on WeChat. See you in an hour, don't be late!" After hanging up, Jiang Xun looked at the location sent on WeChat—it was located in a scenic valley on the outskirts of Beijing, indeed within the area covered by the Tang family's businesses.

He recalled the intimate moments in the car last night, and Yan Jin's awkward yet alluring reaction, and felt inexplicably pleased.

Tang Yufei's invitation was a good way to change my mood.

An hour later, Jiang Xun drove to the private golf club that Tang Yufei had mentioned.

It's less of a sports field and more of a meticulously crafted resort estate nestled against the mountains and by the water.

The rolling green fairways resemble a velvet carpet, dotted with a clear artificial lake and exquisite garden landscape. In the distance, the green mountains are like dark eyebrows, and the air is so fresh that it is invigorating.

At the entrance of the luxurious club, Jiang Xun spotted Tang Yufei at a glance.

Today she wore a well-tailored white golf tracksuit, with her long, eye-catching legs visible beneath the short skirt. She wore professional golf shoes, her long hair was tied in a neat ponytail, and she wore large sunglasses, making her look dashing and full of energy.

Standing next to her was a woman also dressed in sportswear.

When Jiang Xun saw the woman's face clearly, even he, who was used to seeing beautiful women, couldn't help but be amazed.

The woman was slender and tall, with a cool and aloof demeanor, as if she were untouched by worldly affairs.

She wore a light pink golf suit, which made her skin look even whiter.

Her face, without any makeup, was as exquisite as a traditional Chinese painting, with beautifully drawn eyebrows, a straight nose, and naturally light pink lips.

What's most striking are those eyes—clear, serene, and possessing a detached power that seems to see right through people's hearts.

She simply stood there quietly, becoming a beautiful sight in herself, with everything around her seemingly serving as a backdrop.

It is none other than Liu Yifei, the popular actress known as "Fairy Sister".

"President Jiang, it's an honor to have you here! I'm so sorry I didn't greet you sooner!" Tang Yufei took off her sunglasses, greeted him with a bright smile, and naturally took Jiang Xun's arm in an intimate gesture.

"It's Miss Tang's territory, so of course we have to come and support her," Jiang Xun replied with a smile, but his gaze involuntarily fell on Liu Yifei standing to the side.

Liu Yifei also looked at him, her eyes calm and unwavering, and simply nodded slightly as a greeting.

Her attitude was polite yet distant, carrying a natural aloofness, unlike Yan Jin's acquired coldness, which seemed to emanate from her very bones, a detachment from the world around her.

"Let me introduce you," Tang Yufei said, pulling Jiang Xun to Liu Yifei. "This is Liu Yifei, my good friend. Yifei, this is Jiang Xun, whom I mentioned to you. He's the young and promising CEO Jiang, and also a top student from Peking University."

"Hello, Miss Liu, I've heard so much about you." Jiang Xun extended her hand with a polite smile.

"Hello, Mr. Jiang." Liu Yifei extended her fair and slender hand and gently shook hands with Jiang Xun. Her fingertips were slightly cool, and the handshake was quick and decisive, without any hesitation.

Her voice, like her temperament, is clear and pleasant, yet carries a sense of distance.

"Yifei is a rare guest here; we can't even get her to come normally," Tang Yufei joked with a smile, her arm still linked with Jiang Xun's, her body almost pressed against his side, clearly asserting her ownership.

"It's a rare day to get out and relax, Jiang Xun, so you'd better do your best and not embarrass yourself in front of the beautiful ladies."

Jiang Xun felt Tang Yufei's closeness and the intimacy in her words, smiled, and didn't reply.

His gaze swept over Liu Yifei again. This ethereal goddess on screen seemed even more aloof in reality, and... he keenly caught the extremely subtle gentleness and focus that flashed in the depths of Liu Yifei's calm eyes when she looked at Tang Yufei.

That look in their eyes was definitely not just from ordinary friends.
