Chapter 36 Survival and Death
Chapter 36 Survival and Death (Please continue reading)
After the minotaur priest stabilized the situation, he took out a crystal ball from the animal skin pouch at his waist and then gestured to the bunny girl standing to the side to operate it.
"Ladies and gentlemen, first watch some footage transmitted from the ancestral land. After you've watched it, I'll explain in detail what happened."
As the bunny girl installed the crystal ball on a stone pillar engraved with magic runes on the high platform, video clips were played, leaving the orcs sitting below completely bewildered.
At this moment, the fox-person representative who was sitting near the front suddenly spoke:
"Gruush above, what is this? Is this real?"
High Priest Mordor, is this crack widening?
The old minotaur nodded to the fox-person representative.
"Jia Fan, you are very perceptive. The scene depicts exactly what Jia Fan said."
From the time Prince Kuraldo went to investigate until the day before yesterday, the footage showed that the crack had widened by about 100 meters since it first appeared.
But that's not the worst part. Did you notice the dockside coastline in the video? According to reports from Coldwind City, White Ice Dock has been damaged, and the damage was caused by hitting a boulder that was originally 100 meters away from the dock.
At this point, some of the more intelligent orcs had already grasped the high priest's meaning, and a series of hissing gasps filled the tent. However, this time, High Priest Mordor did not pause to wait for the crowd's reaction. Instead, he continued speaking.
"Not only at the White Ice Wharf, Prince Kurardo sent several scout teams to investigate the coastline and discovered numerous impact marks."
Therefore, I probably don't need to explain further; you all roughly understand what's happening. Although we haven't yet determined the exact length of this rift, it's almost certain that a portion of the continent of Terramia, where our ancestral lands are located, is drifting towards us.
At this point, the old minotaur gestured, and a servant standing outside the tent brought up a huge wooden box. Under the watchful eyes of the orcs, it was placed in the center of the tent. The box was filled with water, and a clod of earth was placed on each side of it.
The old minotaur stood up from his seat, walked to the wooden crate, reached out and drew the curved sword from the waist of the guard standing beside him, and swung the sword down at a clod of earth.
The scimitar retracted, and the clod of earth that had been cleaved apart split in two along the cut of the scimitar. Half of the clod of earth fell onto the other side and crashed hard, splashing water that submerged the entire clod of earth.
As soon as the old minotaur finished his demonstration, the entire tent fell silent instantly, so quiet you could hear a pin drop. After a while, the tent suddenly became as noisy as a boiling kettle.
"Great Gewush—are we doomed?"
Is the Orc Empire about to be destroyed?
Mushroom, Bagchu, Inafu
Save your people!
What are we to do? Is the heavens going to destroy us orcs?
......"
Mordor calmly watched the panicked orcs. His withered, hairless bull face showed no expression. After a while, the orcs noticed that the five royal families and the Grand Elder, who were sitting in the main seats, were watching them silently without making a sound. Gradually, the orcs in the tent quieted down.
"Do you need anything else? You can continue, I can wait a little longer."
Seeing that the beastmen had fallen silent, High Priest Mordor continued:
“I understand your fear and your panic, but we cannot be like headless flies because of fear, nor can we be at a loss because of fear.”
We are the great Orc Empire
We are the embodiment of the great Ger'yush, the orcs live forever!
As the old minotaur released his aura of courage, enveloping everyone, he clenched his fist and slammed his right fist into his chest.
"Roar~ Roar~ Roar~"
Long live the orcs! Groot! Live forever!
Encouraged, the orcs stood up, pounding their chests and roaring. "Very well, then let's get to the main point of our meeting today."
First, we need to relocate the tribes from our ancestral lands back to prepare for war.
The second matter will proceed concurrently with the first, and this meeting is now adjourned. You may return to your respective tribes and prepare your visiting groups. We will meet in Winterhold in twenty days, at which point each tribe will be able to conduct on-site investigations to verify the truth of the matter.
The third thing is that all our tribal territories will be merged into the five royal families and managed uniformly.
Finally, I offered a sacrifice to Great Grush. We have approximately five years left, and we will launch our invasion of the Astell Empire and the Engis Empire the following year.
After saying this, the old minotaur surveyed the expressions of the orcs around him. He continued.
"That's roughly the situation. You need to return to the tribe as quickly as possible and relay the information to your chief. If you have any questions, you can ask them now."
The orcs whispered amongst themselves for a long time, when the boarman sitting below asked the old tauren in the main seat a question.
"High Priest Mordor, our Steelmane tribe has always lived in the southern part of the Empire, near the human kingdoms. I wonder if we could refrain from participating in the war against the human Empire? We don't need new territory; we are quite content with what we have now."
The old minotaur, seated at the head of the table, looked down at the dark red-skinned orc with a pig's nose and ears, about to offer another explanation. The tiger-man prince, seated diagonally to his side, stood up. He walked to the boar-man, his gleaming green eyes glaring fiercely at the foolish pig.
"Hahahaha, the Human Empire is absolutely right about some things."
Pigs are indeed the dumbest creatures in the world; all they know is to eat and sleep. Sometimes they don't even realize what's happening when they're about to die.
The boar-men's already dark red skin turned even redder, and they kept retreating under pressure from the tiger-man prince.
"Your Highness Terrada, as you know, our Steelmane tribe has been at war for years, it's just... it's just... uh... Your Highness."
The tiger-man prince struck with lightning speed, his sharp tiger claws piercing through the boar-man's chest. The boar-man coughed up a large amount of blood, his mouth opening and closing but unable to utter a sound.
With a gentle push of his left hand, Terrada sent the boarman's obese body crashing to the ground, leaving a large hole the size of a bowl in his chest. The tiger prince raised his right hand, a bright red heart still beating in his palm. With a squeeze, the heart instantly turned into a pulp and slipped through Terrada's fingers.
"Anyone else who shares his opinion and feels they shouldn't have participated in the Empire's operation this time can step forward, and I can explain things to you properly."
The tiger-man prince's green pupils gleamed with a chilling light. His long golden hair flowed freely without wind, and his bloodied right hand was raised to his chest as he looked at the orcs.
"Terrada, don't do this. We are doing this for the future of the Orc Empire. There's no need for such bloodshed. I believe that all the Orcs here are willing to share weal and woe with the Empire."
The tiger-man prince shook the fleshy mess off his right hand, walked back to his seat, and bowed to the old minotaur.
"I'm sorry, Lord Mordor. Please excuse my poor manners and continue."
"It's my fault for not making this clear earlier. Merging into the five royal families doesn't mean you've become subordinate. You still have independent tribal sovereignty. We're just managing you effectively to avoid any discrepancies in our coordination."
At the same time, the five royal families solemnly promised that they would do their best to mediate any conflicts or disputes between the tribes. If it is truly impossible to hold anyone accountable, the ruling royal family will provide compensation as appropriate.
Finally, regarding the subsequent war against the human empire, the five royal families jointly pledged that the subsequent division of territories would be based on merit and contribution in battle, with the five royal families jointly guaranteeing the allocation.
Friends. Now we must fight for the future of our great orcish empire. Long live the orcs!
Encouraged, the orcs roared in unison.
"Long live the orcs! Long live the empire!"
"Alright everyone, that's all for today. Quicken your pace; time is very precious to us."
Watching the orcs quickly depart, the old minotaur sat lost in thought, leaving only the five royal families behind. Seeing that the high priest had nothing more to say, the princes also stood up.
"Lord Mordor, we shall take our leave now."
