Chapter 7 Disappointment
“The skeleton was summoned by Galio after he traveled through time,” the skeleton finally spoke. “That’s why it’s on Earth.”

"It's perfectly reasonable to summon a skeleton to scout the way when first arriving in another world," Su Ming said. "So please guide me on how to use the 'Communication with the Dead' feature, and discuss how to utilize it effectively. This is my channel of communication with Earth!"

"No, this is unreasonable, it's completely unreasonable!" White Bone became agitated.

"That's another dimension! How did you connect to it? The Mark of the Dead will shatter if it crosses dimensions!" As he spoke, the scholar fell into deep thought again.

Not quite understanding what Bai Gu was struggling with, Su Ming had no choice but to make plans on his own.

First, he needs to find a place to hide the skeleton.

Finding out what happened after the car accident can wait, and so can understanding the skeleton's purpose. As his link to the original world, Su Ming cannot afford to lose this skeleton!

Then there's the question of how to communicate with people on Earth. He doesn't think anyone could calmly use sign language with a skeleton they see, or watch a skeleton scribbling on the ground with a twig.

Screaming and running away is fine, but if a tough guy comes charging at you with a weapon, then you're all doomed.

Therefore, we must not act rashly!

Hiding in the woods wasn't an option. Besides, Su Ming also wanted to retrieve some things, like his indispensable cell phone from Earth. He decided to use the cover of night to manipulate the skeleton back to the machine factory where he worked.

Su Ming joined the company right after graduation and has been there for three years now. He usually lives in the factory dormitory, which is the place he is most familiar with besides his home.

As for disturbing your parents by going home? Don't even think about it!
He had looked at the navigation map and had a general idea of the journey. There were still more than 20 kilometers left to drive, and following the road signs back shouldn't be a problem.

And so, in the darkness of night, a skeleton embarked on its journey.

Su Ming glanced back and saw some large trailers arriving in the distance, beginning to unload the excavators. If Su Ming could hear the sounds, it would be a chaotic cacophony.

Suddenly a world away.

****
"Su Ming, I think I've made some progress." As Su Ming manipulated the skeleton from its initial stumbling steps to finally walking normally, the skeleton re-established mental synchronization.

Su Ming was immune to the six elements, but he possessed an affinity for a seventh element. Galio helped Su Ming awaken this element, enabling him to indirectly unleash necromancy and establishing the causal relationship for the Awakening Spell.

No matter how impossible it may seem, this is the only answer left after eliminating all other options.

"Wait a moment, I found some clothes, let me get dressed," Su Ming said.

Actually, he saw a house by the roadside with clothes hanging outside that had been forgotten to be taken in. Su Ming didn't care about this act of theft; in a way, it could be considered an emergency evasion.

After putting on the clothes and hoodie, the skeleton looked like a person. He no longer needed to hide and walked directly onto the main road.

"Was there anything unusual when you traveled through time?" the skeleton asked.

"Let me think." Su Ming stretched out his hand, recalling the moment he transmigrated, when his entire body became transparent and ethereal. Looking back now, the truck that also transmigrated didn't become ethereal; only he was affected by that energy.

“Elemental resonance.” After listening to Su Ming’s description, Bai Gu concluded, “When you traveled through time, you came into contact with materialized transparent elements, which triggered resonance.”

"Elemental resonance?" Su Ming recalled the feeling from that time. "Now that you mention it, it makes sense!"

Su Ming already had the relevant knowledge in his mind; resonance-level affinity was an enviable quality among mages, perhaps only one in a hundred. "So that means I'm not useless," Su Ming murmured.

"This isn't a question of whether it's useless or not—with such high affinity and resonance, only this transparent element could be forcibly awakened," the skeleton said. "So, what's next? Its identity?"

Normally, such things will be revealed when the spell is cast. Wind is cyan, water is blue, fire is red, earth is yellow, light is silver-white, and darkness is a ghostly color. Indirect casting uses one's innate element to simulate the spell, and the runes will be mixed with the original colors.

But the original color is transparent!

Su Ming felt as if he had wandered into an unfinished map in a game, where the programmers hadn't even modeled or colored the terrain. He stepped on something, but all he could see was nothingness!
Of course, not being able to see it doesn't mean you don't know the answer.

"Space," the skeleton said, "is the only way."

Su Ming's necromancy is essentially driven by spatial elements, which is why he can cross dimensional barriers and manipulate the skeletons left behind by Galio on Earth.

He was merely wearing the cloak of a necromancer; his true awakening was that of a space mage!

Su Ming became excited. Spatial power—did this mean he could return to Earth?

Perhaps we can escape with the skeletons!

"How do I manipulate space?" Su Ming asked quickly. He couldn't sense the form of the spatial runes, knew nothing about their properties, and had zero knowledge of any related techniques.

“Research, a lot of research,” the skeleton replied. “Your necromancy is simulated by spatial elements, so there must be differences. Observe, capture, then build models and theories, calculate, and iterate repeatedly until you finally achieve control.”

"It sounds like it will take a long time?" Su Ming asked hesitantly, as it didn't sound like it would be a short while.

"Of course. We know very little about the spatial domain. For example, the plane transfer array. Countless predecessors have tried to study the naturally generated plane fluctuations and conducted countless experiments. Only today's experiment was fortunate enough to succeed."

"...So we were definitely not going to finish it before we were killed?"

The skeleton's tone carried a hint of surprise, "Before being killed? No, no, this was a research plan that took at least ten years to complete, so it's not surprising that it took so much time with no progress."

It turned out that his joy was in vain; spatial power was too far-fetched to be of any use in the immediate situation, and Su Ming was immediately very disappointed.

“Then let’s explain to them that I’m not actually a necromancer,” he suggested. “And then we can trade technology for survival? Spatial magic is a very precious thing, isn’t it!”

"More than precious! You are the only one known, besides Gods!" the skeleton proclaimed passionately. "The question is, where is the proof?"

Su thought about it and realized it was indeed a problem. He couldn't use his spatial magic, his necromancy couldn't detect anything unusual, and his claim of manipulating skeletons across dimensions was entirely his own—the Templar Knights couldn't exactly go to Earth to investigate, could they?

"My dark runes are a lighter color, does that count?" Compared to Galio's black runes, Su Ming's are clearly closer to gray.

"It is a bit strange, but this world is full of all sorts of bizarre and outlandish tricks," White Bone replied. In the world of PVP battles, dirty tricks are as numerous as hairs on a cow; who knows, someone might even be able to change the color of the elements.

"I'm from another world, will that help?"
