Chapter 521 Where is Kang?
Chapter 521 Where is Kang?
Eighteen hours after Otto announced he was taking over Manhattan, at 8 a.m. Eastern Time on June 2.
After hours of fierce fighting, Thor and his crew finally fought their way through the seemingly endless horde of Kang's warships. However, as they began their attack, they discovered a very frustrating fact: firstly, these future warships possessed incredibly powerful force field shields, making their defenses extremely difficult to breach.
Secondly, the moment one ship is destroyed, an identical warship, even with the same paint job, will instantly spawn and appear nearby, brazenly mocking the superheroes' incompetence. Thor might destroy a ship, and the next second, another version of that ship in a different timeline will immediately appear to fill the void.
So much so that they were only able to break through the enemy's defenses now and finally arrive at Kang's flagship. Then Thor raised his hammer and teleported the entire team, including the Avengers and the Thunderbolts, in.
“I’m starting to doubt whether we can win the battle against Kang in the end. Maybe we will finally kill Kang, and then we will find another Kang from the previous second in front of us.”
Pym surprisingly remained pessimistic, and in order to fight Kang, he brought Ultron with him, hoping it would be of some help.
The captain didn't seem to care about that at all, and just said silently, "We will fight to the very end, Hank. That's the only thing we can do."
"To be honest, 31st-century technology isn't as... advanced as I imagined." Tony remarked after carefully observing his surroundings. "Without a doubt, if Kang really did come from our future, then Earth must have experienced a massive technological decline during that period."
At least Kang's technology is at a level that Tony can roughly understand, but looking at how humanity imagined the future a thousand years ago, it's clear this is highly unlikely. Unless a third world war breaks out, plunging all of humanity into a wasteland.
Doom, who was walking at the front, silently cast a spell. In the 31st century, technology still hadn't figured out the essence of magic. Good, that meant he still had a role to play here.
So the group continued onward, with Thor continuing to use the Rainbow Bridge to summon more and more people. As they moved forward, they began to wonder about a certain question.
"If Kang has the Time Stone, then why isn't our Goatee Holmes here?" Tony asked as they walked. Doom, the only magical authority present, remained silent, preoccupied with figuring out how to acquire Kang's futuristic technology for his own use.
In other words, Doom didn't think he would lose.
As they advanced, one after another, enormous robots resembling ancient Egyptian scarabs appeared in the corridor, blocking the heroes' path. Hulk charged forward first, then punched a giant robot, letting out a roar. With each punch, Hulk knocked down all the scarab robots, leaving the entire road littered with their wreckage.
Just as Hulk was about to move forward, he was stopped by the robots—these scarab robots seemed to have reversed time, quickly completing their self-healing and looking as good as new. They then continued to attack Hulk. Not only that, the entire corridor was divided into several sections and isolated by force fields. Then, more and more, almost countless scarab robots, emerged.

Kang was stalling for time. At this moment, he was in his command room, looking at the outer shell in front of him, feeling a sense of unease. In order to combat the multiverse collision crisis that occurred in 2015, Kang needed the same power as the collision crisis, namely the Cosmic Cube.
So, he adopted the alias Mr. Griffin and joined AIM. Using the data on the Cosmic Cube they had obtained from Hydra, they created a container capable of holding spatial rifts beyond the realm of existence—the outer shell of the Cosmic Cube. Next, all that was needed was to open a rift leading to the beyond realm, channeling its power into this container, and a Cosmic Cube would be complete. Then, Kang the Conqueror encountered an unprecedented problem he couldn't solve: when Kang created a Cosmic Cube in the 31st century and attempted to bring it to the 21st century, he unexpectedly discovered that he couldn't do it.
The reason is that the Cosmic Cube, which is capable of reshaping the entire universe, modifying reality, and even completely rewriting the basic mathematical logic, has a natural flaw, and this flaw is fatal to Kang: the power beyond the realm is linear in time.
In other words, the Cosmic Cube cannot travel through time; it cannot be selected by any time-space engine, including the Time Stone, and no time-related abilities or devices can affect it. Therefore, once Kang created one in the 31st century, he was unable to bring the Cosmic Cube into 2013.
However, Earth in 2013 lacked the technological conditions and capabilities to open a rift to a transcendent realm, making it completely impossible to create the Cosmic Cube in 2013.
That's why he's stalling for time. If it weren't for that, he would have already used the Cosmic Cube to wipe out all the superheroes.
"The most important thing now is to bring the unfinished Cosmic Cube into this era. Since the complete Cosmic Cube is destined to be unaffected by time, we can only complete part of the work in the 31st century and then continue to complete it in 2013."
Kang frowned as he muttered to himself. This sudden turn of events prevented him from utilizing his greatest strengths, and now he had to rely on his technological minions to buy time.
When the 26th hour had passed, the Avengers and other heroes finally broke through all obstacles and arrived at the bridge, but they did not see Kang the Conqueror.
Doom looked around and then concluded: "He was here a moment ago, so it's obvious he left temporarily for some reason."
"What do you think is the likelihood that he's afraid of us and therefore running away, Tony?"
“He might cheat us and drag us out with endless time, but he won’t choose to run away directly, because it’s pointless.”
Pym's question puzzled Tony. He didn't think Kang was really afraid of them, but if Kang wasn't here, where was he? Tony walked to the bridge, looked at the remaining energy data, and turned around to ask a question.
"How's the situation in Manhattan?"
