Chapter 502 Spider-Man: Year One (2)

"Although it seems like it hasn't been long, it feels like I haven't been to school in ages."

In the United States, the school year ends relatively early. In late May, Midtown High School had already announced the end of the year's studies. Peter Parker spent his freshman year at Midtown High School with virtually no memorable experiences.

His freshman year of high school was spent saving the world and beating up supervillains.

“No need to say ‘it seems,’ you just haven’t been to school in ages.” Harry sighed helplessly, then continued, “If it weren’t for Amadeus being there to set an example for you, you would definitely be the student with the most absences at Midtown High School this year, without a doubt.”

“I don’t want to take a day off,” Amadeus added from the side, “but I have to save the world with Hercules, guys.”

Amadeus seemed to have become much more cheerful, perhaps because he had been spending more time with Hercules. He told his friends a lot about his and Hercules' adventures, but Harry and Peter had never heard of any of these great feats of saving the world.

It's as if Hercules and Amadeus live in a world where Hercules is the only hero, and they frantically save the world without anyone knowing it.

However, neither Amadeus nor Hercules cared.

Harry then lamented, "I feel so inferior, guys. You guys are all saving the world, and I can't do anything about it."

Peter was about to offer Harry a few words of comfort when he received a phone call. He answered, frowned, and then hung up. Harry, seeing this, asked with concern, "Are you alright? Did something happen?"

"No, it's nothing, everything is fine."

Peter received a call from the X-Men, who told him some bad news: Doctor Octopus had hired Gambit to install a program on the X-Men's Blackbird fighter jet. This program would copy a portion of the program and transfer it while the X-Men's mainframe computer was in hibernation mode. Worse still, this portion of the program had already been copied and transferred.

What Otto wanted to find from the X-Men was the program for the Danger Chamber.

The Danger Chamber is the training ground for the X-Men. Its most famous and useful feature is its simulated combat. Based on some technological principles that Peter Parker was unaware of, the Danger Chamber can simulate very realistic touch, smell, hearing, and vision. It can even generate "collision volumes" when you fight against procedurally generated fake enemies.

In other words, the thing itself is fake, but when it hits you, the feedback, including the pain, is real. You will genuinely feel that you are injured, and your body will react accordingly.

Peter knew very well who Otto had prepared this for—Mysterio.

Mysterio's original light particle manipulation device was undeniably ingenious, but its shortcomings were still obvious. First, it could only control the imaging method of light particles, and other elements could not be modified. Mysterio originally needed the assistance of other devices, including drones, to control sound and other effects. But what if the program from the Danger Room was used to upgrade his aquarium head?
Peter no longer knows whether the enemies he faces are real or fake. These enemies have real tactile sensations and real feedback from being hit. When they hit Peter, he will feel real pain. This Mysterio is no longer creating special effects and illusions; he is casting illusions.

Because the X-Men failed to discover this, Peter ended up facing an enemy like this.

Peter sighed helplessly, but he wasn't fighting alone now. If Spider-Man were to deal with the Sinister Six by himself, it might be a bit troublesome, but what if the entire Avengers were to beat up the Sinister Six?
Then everything becomes very simple.

However, he suspected Otto would find a way to leave him to face the Sinister Six alone… Wait, why should he care about Otto? His most pressing goals right now were to find Dr. Jonathan to cure his clone's ALS and to get revenge on Osborn. Spider-Man was just an obstacle, not the goal itself. In truth, the Sinister Six were merely pawns used to restrain Peter.

So you've got the focus wrong?

“Alright, guys, I need your help with something.” Peter suddenly looked at Harry and Amadeus, then messaged the others: “We need to go to the Spiderweb base to talk things over there.”

About an hour later, at the Spider Web base.

Inside the base, Harry was filled with awe upon seeing the number of people present. It wasn't just the three of them and Dr. Jonathan, who had been in charge of the Web of Faith; Cindy Moon (Spider-of-the-Silks) and Felicia Hardy (Black Cat), two other superhumans Peter could readily call upon for assistance, were also there. Iliana and Katie were originally on Peter's contact list, but considering the nature of the situation, he didn't contact them immediately.

He contacted another person.

“Hello, Sylvia, I hope the time difference didn’t bother you.” Peter said as he opened a video call on the base’s large screen. On the other end of the video was Silver Sable, who had fought alongside him in Europe. Silver Sable didn’t seem to mind at all: “You said you had business, Spider-Man, business is certainly not a bother.”

“Okay, let me give you a brief overview. Otto Octavia secretly rescued a supervillain named Electro – we thought we had eliminated him, but we hadn’t. He used his mutant abilities to sabotage the Raft prison, thereby releasing a large number of supervillains.”

"Otto Octavia, a supervillain codenamed Doctor Octopus, who was believed to be dead, transferred his consciousness into another young body and called himself a tech wizard. After being arrested and tried, he was imprisoned in Raft Prison, where he selected four other criminals as members of his gang."

Peter then displayed images of Doctor Octopus, Mysterio, Scorpion, Rhino, Electro, and Sandman on the large screen, along with their information: "And, he previously hired a mutant thief to install hacking software on an X-Men fighter jet to steal data from the Danger Room. This data was likely used to enhance Mysterio. There's no doubt that Doctor Octopus and his Sinister Six are on the move."

"Their goal, at least as far as I know, is very clear: to create a modified spider to cure ALS, and to take revenge on Osborn."

The first year can also be called the first year. This title is a way of wrapping up the previous stories and kicking off the final event of the first year of the PP story: the sinister six.

If the Sinister Six don't make an appearance soon, they'll fall behind the game's meta.
