Chapter 476 Shadow Universe
Earth 90214, also known as the Marvel Shadow Universe, is the universe where Spider-Man Noir resides.

If Peter remembers correctly, the most distinctive features of this universe, besides its setting between the Great Depression and World War II and its rather oppressive and dark art style, are the complete absence of superpowered individuals except for Spider-Man. All the villains are gangsters, Magneto's Brotherhood is an immigrant mob, and Xavier's School doesn't teach mutant abilities but rather antisocial tendencies.

Even Spider-Man Noir's abilities are among the weakest in the Spider Totem: although he can produce his own webs, the output is extremely low, not enough to swing through the city. His speed and abilities are all very limited, and his defense is basically no different from that of an ordinary person. His biggest feature and source of damage is a revolver.

If other Spider-Men could punch someone to a pulp with their full power, then Spider-Man Noir could only manage to send someone flying with a single punch—that's roughly the difference.

So Peter was initially quite curious as to why the Spider-Verse had placed him in this world, which was considered a low-level martial arts universe. But as soon as he arrived, he saw Moron fighting the Shadow Spider.

"Alright, that guy's gone for now. Are you alright?"

Peter reached out to help Spider-Man Noir up, but the latter rolled over and raised his gun to question him. However, with the help of his spider-sense, Peter used a web to trap Spider-Man and his gun together, leaving Spider-Man Noir completely bewildered.

Where did you get so many spider webs?

"I'm not entirely sure if people in 1933 could understand the concept of the multiverse, but I'm not your enemy."

As Peter spoke, he removed his mask, revealing a face that resembled that of a young Spider-Man Noir: "I am Peter Parker from Earth 616, uh, from 2013."

Spider-Man Noir once thought he would never be surprised again.

But he was very wrong.

Less than half an hour later, Spider-Man Noir, or rather, the older Peter Parker, took Peter to his safe house. On the way, he learned about the multiverse—although he didn't understand the scientific principles, he grasped the general idea.

He also learned who the guy who suddenly appeared today, intending to "eat" him, and who called himself Molun, was.

"They call themselves the Inheritors, though I don't know what they inherited. Maybe they inherited the original 001 universe where the gods were. In any case, our power comes from the spider totem, while their power comes from the leech totem. Of course, they call themselves the vampire totem. A major characteristic of the leech totem is its ability to absorb the life energy of other totems."

It is precisely because of this characteristic that, generally speaking, regardless of its strength, a spider totem is doomed when it encounters its inheritor. The inheritor's stats may not be ridiculously high, but for a spider totem, it is a complete racial advantage.

Of course, inheritors have their own weaknesses; if the spider totem they absorb contains other contaminants, it will also damage their vitality. Furthermore, the symbiote can act as a shield to block the spider totem's vitality.

So Peter's still-weathered venom, which he brought to guard against the spider army, became his armor, and Moron couldn't do anything about it.

Moreover, although the inheritors have a racial advantage against the spider totem, tearing space is a mechanic, and it still shaved off most of Moron's face. However, Moron seems to have such thick skin that he is still alive and kicking even without his face.

Spider-Man Noir seemed rather perplexed, because he felt that what Peter Parker from the other world was saying was completely beyond his expectations; whatever the other was saying seemed like gibberish.

It's not that I don't understand, it's just that it's completely irrelevant to me. How could I, a Spider-Man whose highest output is a pistol, possibly fight against Moron? You should find someone else to do this.

"In short, I will deal with Moron, but that is clearly not the reason why the Web of Fate sent me here."

As Peter spoke, he pulled out a spider statue, its style resembling African totemism. Spider-Man Noir perked up the moment he saw it: "You have this in your world too?"

"There is one, but it's empty inside, and I didn't gain power from the spiders inside."

In reality, Peter roughly knew what he could uncover by joining Spider-Man Noir. Since both universes possessed this symbol, and Spider-Man Noir's timeline coincided with 1933, just before World War II, everything aligned. Furthermore, this symbol was actually Anansey's mark, meaning it was also connected to the Web Corps. Perhaps this was the true purpose of the Web of Fate—to help him discover the true identity of that woman from World War II.

In addition to that, they also need to come and protect Spider-Man Noir.

After listening to Peter's words, Spider-Man Noir sighed helplessly: "Whatever, but please don't interfere with my work."

“Speaking of which, I’m actually quite curious about something.” Peter looked at Spider-Man Noir and then asked what he wanted to know: “Where is that totem statue?”

Spider-Man Noir answered him very quickly.

"It's with Norman Osborne, but it's useless now."

Several months ago, Osborne smuggled a shipment from Europe, including an unidentified statue. One of Osborne's men, Calkin, touched the statue, and a spider that emerged from it devoured him, leaving no trace of his body.

On the contrary, Peter Parker, who was almost killed by the Green Goblin Gang for trying to unite workers by giving a speech on the street, was thrown into the spiders to be executed.

Instead of dying, he saw a vision of Anansi, the spider god, and gained spider powers.

“I can’t destroy the totem, but I can destroy the spiders inside. I’ve already killed all the spiders inside. You don’t need to worry about it.”

"That's not necessarily true. As far as I know, as long as you keep Taranto tarantulas from Italy in the hollow of the totem, these tarantulas can also transmit spider abilities."

“Osborne doesn’t know that either.”

"What about the person who sold it to Osborne Totem?"

Spider-Man Noir narrowed his eyes and began to think.

Just then, Peter felt a dizzying sensation as his spider senses went off wildly, and he almost fell to the ground.

"what happened to you?"

"It's Moron... He plans to hunt down spider totems across the multiverse in order to heal his injuries."

Peter gritted his teeth, sent a message using the multiverse-traveling watch Miguel had given him, then took the watch off and handed it to Spider-Man Noir: "I have to go save them. If Molen arrives, press the button on the right side of the watch."

“Then I will go investigate the totem matter, you go and save Peter Parker and the others, Chieftain.”

Peter was taken aback when he heard this.

"Actually... Peter Parker isn't the only one with the spider totem."
