Chapter 454 What do you think the "A" on my head represents?!

As Raft Prison malfunctioned in the Atlantic, a flash of light erupted from Tony Stark's mansion on the West Coast. After exchanging a few words with Pepper Potts, Tony, clad in brand-new armor, flew out of the mansion. On the camera, Killian looked at the new armor and, for some reason, sensed something was amiss.

It was a classic red suit of armor, with some parts painted in classic gold. But the most unique feature of the entire suit was the brand-new hexagonal arc-shaped reactor on its chest, and the streamlined shape of the armor that looked more like the curves of the human body and less like a heavy mechanical machine.

"Shoot him down!"

Killian acted decisively; the attack helicopter was destined to fail, but that didn't stop him from seeing what kind of trouble Tony Stark had gotten into. Tony, however, didn't hold back, catching the air-to-air missile fired by the attack helicopter and tossing it onto the helicopter, ending the scene.

"Boss, the fuse indicates the triggering requirement hasn't been met." The analyst, as if seeing a ghost, read the missile's data: "The detection radar hasn't detected any heat source!"

Killian frowned, then made a quick decision: "Whatever trouble he has, leave it all to the super-adaptor. Notify Mandarin and tell him to get ready to act."

"Jarvis, report the situation."

Spider-Man reports that he has gone to the Raft prison, but the specific situation there is currently unknown, and Ultron has not sent back any data.

"Okay, let's see what we can do... The captain sent a message?"

Tony was surprised when he saw the Captain's message, because the president's activities were threatened by the Mandarin terrorist activities, and for some reason, he was persuaded by his "close advisors" to choose to let the American Avengers protect him and fight against the evil Ten Rings terrorists, to prove to the world that the US government and the president are not afraid of any enemy.

“How about we take this guy away first?” Tony asked the captain seriously. “I think our president won’t learn anything unless he suffers a bit.”

“Tony…we can’t do this.”

"What's wrong? Captain America is protecting the President of the United States? It feels weird whether the answer is yes or no."

The captain certainly didn't feel obligated to protect the President of the United States because of the "A" on his head, but because of that extreme future: "If Matthew Ellis dies, it will likely lead to the creation of the Nimrod Sentinels."

"Perhaps, but it's more likely because I'm dead."

"...When will you get there?" The captain finally had nothing to say: "We'll be at the venue soon, when will you get there?"

"We might be faster than you. What about the raft prison?"

"Spider-Man has informed the Fantastic Four, and they will help us investigate the situation at the Raft Prison."
-
Captain America, leading the remaining three Avengers—Hulk, Thor, and Black Panther—in a Quinjet, arrived in the Pittsburgh area, where the president was giving a speech. It was there that they received the report that Mandarin was planning a terrorist attack.

When Captain America and his team arrived at the venue, they were immediately intercepted by the Avengers. War Machine, as the leader, quickly approached the Avengers and raised his hand to stop them: "Sorry, Captain America, but you can't get through."

“We have something very important to report to His Excellency the President, Colonel Rhodes.” The captain tried his best not to arouse suspicion. Although the Avengers’ arrival had already aroused suspicion, considering the distance between the American Avengers and the President of the United States, taking action now would not only put them at a disadvantage in public opinion due to a lack of evidence, but would also make the President easier to capture. Therefore, the captain’s idea was to pretend that the Avengers were very concerned about this matter, and that the Avengers and the American Avengers would jointly protect the President, thereby protecting President Ellis’s personal safety.

However, the war machine in front of them was undoubtedly very inhumane, and simply blocked them: "Sorry, Captain, we are responsible for the President's security. Avengers are not allowed to enter."

The captain sighed helplessly: "Do you mean the Avengers pose a security risk, or do you think the Avengers are incapable of protecting the president? I'm a soldier, Colonel Rhodes. We heard the news and came here specifically to protect the president."

"The American Avengers are enough to protect the president."

"What if it doesn't work?"

"...You're doubting the capabilities of the American Avengers."

“I’m making sure everything goes perfectly.” The captain tried to keep his temper in check. “You should know that if something happens to His Excellency the President right after the Ten Rings issued their attack warning, we’re doomed.”

"We will ensure that nothing goes wrong."

"Really? The speech is about to begin. Have your reconnaissance posts been set up? How many suspicious individuals have you discovered? Have you deployed agents and security posts on the surrounding high ground?"

The captain scanned the room and came to a clear conclusion: none of them. He looked at War Machine before him, who still spoke stiffly, "The American Avengers will take responsibility for this..."

"If something really happens, will you take responsibility?! You bunch of greenhorns can't even handle basic security procedures, yet you're making such grand promises? You haven't caught a single dangerous individual. Everyone who came to the speech could enter without any checks, and your only action after arriving here is to stop the Avengers?!"

The captain roared at War Machine, pointing to the large letter A on his helmet: "Look at my head! What do you think that A on my head represents?! France?!"

War Machine seemed startled, and seeing the captain's roar, he obediently stepped aside: "The Avengers will participate in this mission together with the American Avengers, but it needs to be arranged properly."

"Thank you, Colonel."

Tony, who had been listening on the comms, couldn't help but laugh. After Captain America led the Avengers inside, he joked over the comms, "Captain America's roar, do you know how excited those old white men would get if someone filmed that?"

“I don’t care about that, Tony. You have to get here quickly. Ultron’s intelligence is right. There’s something wrong with the American Avengers. At the very least, there’s something wrong with War Machine.”

Tony looked at the picture of the raft prison emitting black smoke that Jarvis had given him, and then at Ms. Marvel flying in the air on alert: "This might be a bit troublesome, Captain. I'll try to get there as soon as possible."
