Chapter 441 The Time of Fate
"You look like you're not in a good mood."

"If you realize that your fate and life are likely controlled by others, you probably won't feel good. Although I know very well what I should do."

Cindy looked at Peter with some concern: "The prophecy that woman just mentioned..."

"I don't know how to deal with the first sentence, but I can deduce the second one. The master of time probably refers to Kang. Remember Kovac? He was the one Kang researched for the Cosmic Cube, which has the ability to modify reality. So I guess Kang plans to use the Cosmic Cube to eliminate me for his plan, and I need to think of a solution."

The best, and only, solution Peter could think of was magic. Marvel magic has a very high ceiling; mastering it should be enough to protect himself. The only problem was when Kang planned to act, and whether Peter could sense it.

Another option is to find a powerful protector; the best candidate would be Doctor Strange from the magical side, or perhaps Strange could offer some help. Besides that, what else? Ask Thor? Odin probably wouldn't even recognize him. Ask Wanda? Would Wanda even know he could alter reality…?

The main reason is that Lady Spider made it clear that she cannot rely on her ability to travel through the multiverse to leave 616 and avoid Kang's erasure, otherwise she will be permanently lost. Otherwise, if she runs to the wasteland universe, even if Kang can modify reality, it will be in vain.

After letting his mind wander for a while, Peter shook his head indifferently: "Forget it, there's no point in thinking about it now. Since she said I'd get everything sorted out before Kang's operation, let's just wait. Besides, didn't she also say that I have to die once and be resurrected before I can face this fate?"

Sometimes, knowing the predetermined future isn't necessarily a bad thing. For example, if you know when you will die, then you are invincible until that day.

Since that's the case, Peter stopped worrying. The European cultural tour still had a long way to go. After Vienna, they would go to Berlin, then Cologne, then Amsterdam, then Paris, and finally London before returning home.

“Speaking of which, don’t the Elementals include the Sandman?” Peter recalled a seemingly forgotten character: “I wonder if he’s still working for Hydra.”
-
Half a month passed quickly. In that time, even the discussions about Hydra had almost disappeared. Basically, apart from the arrest of some high-ranking officials from various countries, there was no news related to Hydra. As time went by, almost everyone was certain of one thing: Hydra was just a roadside monster, no match for the Avengers, and was beaten to a pulp by them.

The captain was very dissatisfied with the news reports and the related emotional rhetoric, but there was nothing he could do; people can say whatever they want.

On the contrary, S.H.I.E.L.D. not only welcomed Fury's viewpoint, but even seemed to be encouraging it. Was this due to pressure from above that they had to close the case quickly, or were they trying to lull their opponents into a false sense of security? Peter didn't know for the time being.

But all in all, he truly spent the last two weeks on a pleasant vacation. Upon arriving in London, Peter finally made it to 221B Baker Street, the Sherlock Holmes memorial, a place he had longed to visit.

"Simply put, most people would be disappointed, since it's completely different from what they imagined. But for us, it's exactly the same!"

Jessica, a senior student, excitedly explained that the biggest difference between 221B Baker Street and what many people expected was its "smallness." As a Victorian-era apartment building, the space inside was by no means comfortable, and many people would think it was "nothing special."

But it's a different story for Sherlock Holmes fans like Peter, because this apartment has almost completely replicated all the details from Sherlock Holmes and the furnishings from the most classic Sherlock Holmes films and TV series, perfectly recreating 221B Baker Street as every true fan would imagine – except for the ticket price.

But Peter felt a little lost after he finished exploring. It wasn't that he was dissatisfied, but rather that he felt like he had accomplished something very important and would never experience it again. "The last time I felt this way was when I was playing Outer Endurance... sigh, Outer Endurance wasn't even around in 2013."

Peter muttered to himself as he left the museum, listening to Jessica and Felicia chattering away. Just then, his phone rang. He opened it and saw a text message from Sylvia. This surprised Peter somewhat, as quite some time had passed, and she was finally contacting him.

To be honest, since the Sandman hadn't shown up for the past two weeks, Peter thought Sylvia had already packed up and gone home, but he never expected her to still be here.

He put away his phone, looked around, left the crowd, and then jogged to a nearby spot where he became invisible. He then used his webs to reach the location Sylvia had indicated, and deactivated his invisibility. The meeting place was the famous Scotland Yard.

After he went in wearing his uniform, he found that not only Sylvia, but also other members of the Holy Sword Organization were there.

"Alright, Lestrade, hopefully you have some leads here."

Upon hearing this, Psylocke burst out laughing, leaving Sylvia looking at them with some confusion. Psylocke then asked Sylvia curiously, "You don't know about the detectives in Sherlock Holmes?"

"...I only remember Sherlock Holmes and Watson."

After Sylvia sighed, Peter got down to business: "So, since everyone's here, is it because the Sandman was discovered?"

"Yes...no. We found a way to lift the Sandman's curse, or more accurately, we got Merlin's help. Merlin said that Spider-Man, you are also a sorcerer, so you can learn this spell. I'll tell you about it in a bit."

Captain Britain said, scratching his head again: "During this time, whenever we find the Sandman, we will definitely fight him, but the problem is, he seems to have really disappeared. No matter what, we can't find him."

"Could he have run away with Hydra?"

Peter asked curiously, but unexpectedly received a negative reply from Captain Britain: "It's unlikely. We received a prophecy from Merlin that the Sandman is in London and is preparing to kill you."

How come Merlin's prophecy is so accurate? Lady Spider, did you play something wrong this time?

Peter sighed helplessly, then thought of something: "If... he intends to kill me, perhaps there is a place that would be the best place to strike."
