Chapter 389 Tracking the Elementals

Peter Parker knew nothing about the Wild Band, and he knew very little about Silver Sable. The top mercenaries, who controlled Silver Sable International Security Company, were basically all he knew.

So when he first heard about the Wild Warband organization, he never imagined it would be related to Silver Sable.

Of course, this also shows that Nick Fury's talk of hiding identities and conducting secret operations is all nonsense. Otherwise, he wouldn't have had Peter appear on screen. But it seems Silver Sable really doesn't know the secret identities of the people who came.

After hearing Peter say he would "save the most people in the world," Sylvia stared at him for a moment, her gaze disapproving. She simply didn't believe a 15-year-old high school freshman could save the world.

Peter simply shrugged.

"In any case, I need to know your capabilities in order to formulate tactics. The Wild Chapter has been hunting the Elementals for a long time, and we are certain that the Molten Ones and Sandmen will appear in Madrid. The Chapter's plan has been finalized and needs to be adjusted accordingly based on your capabilities."

“So…” Felicia seemed to have a knack for teasing Sylvia: “If you can wipe out the elementals, what do you need us for?”

Sylvia's gaze grew increasingly unfriendly. Felicia shrugged helplessly: "A comprehensive enhancement of physical abilities. I'm not sure of the specific values, but anyway..."

"Super Soldier Serum, right? Then I think I understand."

Interrupting Felicia's long-winded speech, Sylvia looked at Cindy, who simply handed her a file detailing her abilities. Peter was somewhat envious; he had actually asked Fury if he had a similar file.

Fury's answer was one of helplessness.

You should figure out your own capabilities first. It's been more than half a year since the horror movie started, how many times have you leveled up?

"This ability looks a lot like Spider-Man's..."

After seeing the report, Sylvia muttered to herself, then looked at Peter: "And you?"

"I am Spider-Man."

Peter saw Sylvia visibly dazed for a moment, then cover her forehead.

She was silent for a full three seconds, then looked at Peter: "You are Spider-Man."

"Yes."

"You're only a first-year high school student?"

"Yes."

"You're a high school freshman, and you've probably fought off twenty superhumans in the past six months, killed more than twenty cyborgs in a single day last month, and even resolved an alien invasion?"

"……Yes."

Sylvia took a deep breath.

"How much did the Avengers pay you?"

Peter:? ? ?
“You were born for this, Spider-Man. Come join the Wild Band. I can guarantee that the entire Sylcaria will pay for you. No matter how rich Tony Stark is, he can't have an entire country as rich as you.”

“I’m not fighting crime to make money.” Peter was a little confused by this sudden development: “I’m fighting crime to help other people.”

"Come to Wild Chapter, I guarantee you'll have superpowered criminals to fight every day."

"Why do you make it sound like I'm some kind of psychopath chasing after supervillains?" Peter muttered to himself, then retorted, "I still have to go to school."

"You have the talent to save the world, why are you even in school! Every single second you spend at school is letting criminals run rampant!" That seems...that makes sense?
Peter found himself at a loss for words, but he shrugged anyway: "I still think that besides being Spider-Man, I need to have some time for myself. I also need to find time to go to college..."

Peter didn't continue, because he noticed that Sylvia seemed a little... embarrassed when she heard about going to college.

Could this girl have become a mercenary because she didn't get into college?

"...Let's talk about it after you graduate from university. I doubt you'll get into university anyway. Just like me, I've put all my energy into other things, so I don't have time to study."

Peter fell silent.

However, he gleaned some very useful and unique information from Sylvia's words.

First of all, the Wild Chapter itself was planning to hunt the Elementals, and Fury most likely forced the three of them into the group.

Moreover, Sylvia was unaware of their secret identities and most likely thought they were new high school-aged agents recruited by S.H.I.E.L.D. to gain experience.

That's why Sylvia didn't give them a friendly look. She didn't know it was Spider-Man; she just thought Fury had sent three superhumans to disrupt the Wild Band's original plans.

Peter was even more confused, not about the Wild Chapter's capabilities or plans, but about Fury's purpose.

He didn't even choose to tell his partners who the incoming people were, so Sylvia still needed to understand their capabilities and make temporary tactical deployments. He knew his purpose in coming was to provide cover for Fury's real operation.

But isn't this cover-up too hasty? There's practically nothing there. Any Hydra agent could easily spot the problem here.

Is your cover really effective?

What is the purpose of the elementals?

Peter chose to first ask Sylvia for information she might know: "If they are from the same organization, then that organization must have some kind of destination. Has the Wild Chapter discovered it?"

Unfortunately, Sylvia shook her head.

"The only thing we can be sure of is that the other side is carrying out some kind of looting. They are basically attacking various laboratories, S.H.I.E.L.D. warehouses, or secret Soviet outposts."

"What they're looking for, and what it is, I don't know. Perhaps I'd have to ask someone who knows better."

"Who?"

When asked about this, Silvia hesitated before finally deciding not to answer: "I'll consider how to arrange our entry into the battle. The battle is expected to take place in Madrid, and we'll contact you then. As for now, enjoy your holiday in Lisbon."

A few minutes later, the three people left the staff office. After they came out, Felicia commented, "I don't like her."

Is it because you two are both older, white-haired women that you feel your character settings are similar, so you don't like it? Peter muttered to himself, but didn't dare say it aloud.

So he explained the situation to his two teammates.

"The Wild Chapter says they are hunting the Elementals. In other words, in their own plans, the Elementals are not a threat."

Felicia looked at Cindy, only to find that Cindy also looked confused, and then the corners of her mouth couldn't help but turn up.

What is the truth that Nick Fury is trying to cover up?

I'll make up for the last chapter tomorrow.
