Chapter 388 The Silver Sable of Lisbon
Chapter 388 The Silver Sable of Lisbon
"School trip, hotel bookings, a total of more than a month, about forty days, we're going to Lisbon, Madrid, Naples, Rome, Venice... Why are there three stops in Italy but only Madrid in Spain? Places like Toledo and Granada aren't famous, fine, but they didn't even consider Barcelona!"
After Peter boarded the plane, he started complaining to Harry and Amadeus while holding a promotional brochure. Looking at Peter sitting by the window and then at Cindy and Gwen sitting across the aisle, Harry could only nod and agree, "Yeah, yeah."
What else can I say? Why don't you sit with those two?
This seems a bit outrageous.
"So, we actually have a secret mission this time, which is why S.H.I.E.L.D. arranged this trip for us?" Harry asked quietly after watching the flight attendant leave, and raised his doubts: "If the Avengers and S.H.I.E.L.D. can't get close for the sake of secrecy, then it's just you and Cindy, right? Oh, and Felicia too."
Seeing Felicia chatting with Jessica from afar, Harry calculated his own strength: two Spider-Men plus a Black Cat. Could they win?
I heard that the enemies are all exaggerated and bizarre creatures.
“Frey said he’s contacted a local organization for us, but I’m still in the dark and don’t know who it is.” Peter shrugged helplessly, and then Harry started talking about other things: “Well, at least we can have a few days in Lisbon, right? I’ve heard the beaches in Lisbon are really nice, and there might be lots of pretty older sisters.”
Peter looked at Harry with surprise.
"First of all, it's only February now."
Harry retorted to Peter quite naturally: "First of all, this is Southern Europe."
Peter: ...
Secondly, you have a girlfriend.
“Yeah, speaking of which.” Harry suddenly stopped talking, but Peter probably guessed what he was going to say; he was probably wondering if Liz had brought a swimsuit.
Peter wasn't keen on discussing this topic. The plane had already begun its descent, and the entire cityscape of Lisbon gradually came into view outside the window. Peter planned to go find the person Fury had mentioned who could offer them help, as Fury had instructed, after disembarking.
Therefore, they have to "disappear" for a period of time after they get off the plane.
“You have no idea how troublesome it is to deal with Jessica; she’s incredibly smart.” Felicia seemed to be complaining as she walked through the staff passage of Lisbon International Airport with her suitcase. Peter, while dealing with her, dragged his own suitcase and looked at his phone: “Is that Wild Warband’s envoy nearby? Why is it called that?”
“This unit originated from the Soviet-era special forces unit targeting superhumans. Its history dates back to the Soviet Union’s battles against Hydra during World War II, and it was later stationed in the Republic of Sylcaria.” Cindy explained to Peter the information she had obtained from within S.H.I.E.L.D.: “After the collapse of the Soviet Union, this special forces unit was renamed the Wild Forces and became a security mercenary unit that specifically recruits retired special forces soldiers from Eastern European countries.”
A specially trained mercenary force to fight superhumans, and a former Soviet unit at that—Nick Fury really pulled some strings… This has absolutely nothing to do with S.H.I.E.L.D.!
While they were muttering to themselves, Peter and his group arrived at the door of an employee break room. After Cindy knocked rhythmically, the sound of the door lock being unlocked came from inside. Cindy then placed her hand on the doorknob and tilted her head in confusion.
Her spider-sense was working.
"Alright, you two kids, please move aside." Felicia smiled as she took the door. After glancing at it briefly, she chose a straightforward way to open it—she kicked it open and swung her suitcase at the door. The people inside seemed startled by this move and scrambled to avoid it.
"Some people want to test our skills, but they forget that they're not much better than others."
Felicia shook her head and went straight inside. Peter and Cindy followed and saw who the person preparing to make a move was. The other person was a girl not much older than them, with silver hair like Felicia, but the difference was that she was wearing white tactical gear and holding a dagger.
Undoubtedly, if Felicia had opened the door normally, she would have faced off against the other party's dagger. However, Felicia chose to open the door unconventionally. The other party had no plan to catch the suitcase and could only take two steps back.
"You should be glad I didn't actually bring a gun, otherwise your broken suitcase wouldn't have been able to stop anything if you were throwing it at people."
The young girl (actually older than Peter) wasn't very polite either, and of course, Felicia wasn't going to be polite either: "If you're really going to bring firearms, you won't just be looking for a suitcase."
"You won't even have a chance to wrestle with your suitcase, American. So S.H.I.E.L.D. sent three high schoolers? Are they expecting me to babysit them?"
After putting away her dagger, the girl introduced herself: "Sylvia Sablinova, you can call me Sylvia, the support commander of the Wild Chapter. Your boss is very generous and has paid me a lot of money to take care of you bunch of superpowered brats."
“Silvija Sablinova…” Peter repeated the name two or three times before suddenly realizing, “Wait, Silver Sable?”
"If you ever decide to hire the Wild Warband for work, you can call me that. For now..."
"Don't act like you're the boss." Felicia interrupted Sylvia without any politeness: "You're not that much older than us."
"At least I graduated from high school, which is much better than what you guys do."
"You don't even have any superpowers; your physical abilities are just those of a trained human."
"Want to give it a try? I've probably arrested and killed more superhuman criminals than you've ever seen."
Felicia laughed: "Really? I've never heard of any superpowered crimes in Europe. New York is much more lively than here."
"That's because we dealt with them before they caused trouble. Only you Americans wait until superpowered criminals are running rampant on the streets before you try to catch them."
"Are you two arguing so much because you're both silver-haired, and you're all like-minded and repel each other?"
Peter's words interrupted the two. Black Cat and Silver Sable both looked at Peter Parker with displeasure. Peter raised his hands in surrender: "I was just trying to lighten the mood, and...aren't I the most experienced person here, the one who has saved the most worlds?"
