Chapter 373 The Right Body is Here!
Chapter 373 The Right Body is Here! (One chapter owed)
After receiving the phone call from his father, Harry Osborn sat on the sofa at home, his mind racing with uneasy thoughts. He wasn't sure if what his father said was true, or if his problems were all the responsibility of his alter ego, especially since the symptoms of his alter ego had worsened after his mother's death, leading to all of this.
Is this true? Were many of those awful things done by my father's second personality, that so-called Green Goblin? Is the Green Goblin really the Fairy King, or could my father be the Fairy King?
Is it true that the Avengers captured the Fairy King?
Harry lay on the sofa lost in thought, not knowing how much time had passed, when suddenly, golden sparks flashed around him, startling him so much that he jumped up. He then saw a portal open, and Peter, dressed in a black Spider-Man suit, walked in.
"Oh, uh, Peter? Is this some kind of new ability?"
"I've been learning magic recently, and this is only the second time I've opened the door."
Peter shrugged. This was actually his first time at the Osborn's house, but opening the sling gate didn't require a very precise image of the scene. As long as he focused his attention enough on "finding Harry Osborn," he could open the sling gate, just like Ned in the MCU universe.
"Oh, what's the matter?"
“There’s a lot going on, anyway…” Peter paused halfway through his sentence, then suddenly stopped, “Wait, didn’t Green Goblin come looking for you? I mean, your Green Goblin AI?”
"No, what's wrong...?"
Just as Peter was speaking, the Green Goblin AI swiftly took over Harry's house, and a projection of a goblin's head appeared, exclaiming, "Ah, magic! I never thought something like this would happen. I must say, Spider-Man, just when I thought I knew you well enough, you always come up with something new."
"Harry, is anyone else in your house?"
"It's gone—!!!"
Before Harry could finish a sentence, Peter used his webs to pull him into the portal, quickly closing the door behind him. He wasn't sure if the AI Green Goblin would blow up Harry's house, but there was no doubt that they had to take precautions.
A still-shaken Harry gasped when he saw the people in his new room: Reed Richards, Tony Stark, Hank Pym, and a blue-haired monster.
"This is... Avengers Tower?" Harry was confused, then looked at Peter and asked with a hint of wariness, "Um, Spider-Man, what happened?"
So Peter explained to Harry again what had happened to Norman. When Harry heard that his father might have had his personality completely erased by an evil second personality, who then took over his body, he couldn't sit still any longer: "What... what can I do..."
"Our most important task right now is to ensure your safety. The AI Green Goblin needs people who are compatible with the Green Goblin serum, and you are one of them."
The moment Peter finished speaking, Queen Emma objected: "Actually, he can indeed be of help."
Peter looked at Emma with displeasure.
“His father is struggling with his own personality, and frankly, he’s almost no match for him. I’ve seen the Green Goblin, even the Green Goblin in other people’s memories, he still has his own independent thoughts.” Emma looked at Peter: “Norman Osborn can’t possibly be a match for him, and it would be the same if I went, but with his son, perhaps that could change things.”
"I'm going."
Harry agreed almost immediately, then looked at Peter: "I'm sorry, Spider-Man, I know you're worried about me, but that's my father. Maybe I can save him, please." Peter sighed and looked at Emma.
Can you guarantee his safety?
"I can only say that I can protect his mental well-being, but considering that Steve Rogers and Logan are there to watch over him, I think his physical health should be fine too."
Peter then silently opened the slingshot a second time, letting Harry and Emma follow. He had opened it once before to find Strange. Strange possessed the simplest solution: slap out the souls of both Norman and the Green Goblin, and everything would be resolved.
But Strange refused, because this wasn't a matter for the magic side, so he wouldn't interfere. The only one to blame was Peter for learning too slowly and not yet knowing the move.
Therefore, this task can only be entrusted to Emma, whose trustworthiness is uncertain, and Harry, who is full of worries.
At the same time, Peter had another question.
If Hamilton and Harry aren't the targets of the AI Green Goblin, then who does the AI Green Goblin intend to capture as its body? It can't just capture an ordinary person and live like that, can it?
Given Green Goblin's personality, could he really tolerate being in the body of an ordinary person?
Or did he choose some unknown superhuman?
Peter was pondering the goals of the AI Green Goblin, while several scientists were already busy at work. Tony clapped his hands: "Alright, we need to design a program that can resist that damned AI Green Goblin first, and then try to eliminate him. Does anyone have any ideas?"
"I have."
Pym looked at everyone and then slowly said, "I... I upgraded Ultron with my brainwaves. His current computing power is enough to rival the AI Green Goblin, but he hasn't had enough time to learn, so he may not be a match for the AI Green Goblin in the short term."
Tony stared at Pym in disbelief: "You, what?"
“I upgraded Ultron using my own brainwaves. I know you’re in a hurry, but don’t rush.”
Pym didn't give Tony time to refute, but directly presented his findings: "Ultron has hacked into the NYPD's network and intercepted all of the NYPD's communication network information. Among the reports filed by everyone who got that metal ball, Green Goblin marked many people, most of whom have already been modified by Green Goblin. Except for this person."
Peter looked at the Daily Bugle reporter on the screen named "Phil Ulrich." He remembered this reporter; he was the one who had been with Jonah today.
At this moment, Jonah Jameson was furious after witnessing Spider-Man's violent arrest of Roderick. While Spider-Man was undoubtedly right, Jonah was still dissatisfied with his actions. He even returned to the Daily Bugle and continued to vent his anger.
“This is pure police brutality! No, Spider-Man isn’t even a law enforcement officer, this is pure violence!” Jonah muttered in dissatisfaction, then frowned. “I condemn him!”
Mary Jane was about to say something when she looked out the window, because for some reason, ominous green lights began to flash outside.
