I'm working on Marvel's Spider-Man in American comics.
Chapter 372 Where is the right body?
Chapter 372 Where is the right body?
Let's rewind a few minutes and take a look at what's happening on Peter's side.
Inside the Spiderweb base, the little wasps guarding Roderick saw that this stubborn guy was impervious to reason and decided to force him to reveal some things—they already knew that Roderick had voluntarily joined the goblin army, so he might know more than they thought.
Meanwhile, they brought in Saul's girlfriend (presumably) Jane Foster, a Manhattan-born nurse who was helping Peter treat his wounds, mainly the burns on the back of his hands inflicted by the goblin army.
As for Venom, he lay in a jar, leisurely eating the chocolate Banner tossed in. Although he looked quite energetic, the high temperature had caused Venom considerable damage.
"Did you hear that? Your Fairy King has been captured." Having learned from the captain's communications that Hamilton had been arrested, the little wasp stood in front of Roderick, who was bound hand and foot. He, his brother, and the butler had all been arrested and were now being interrogated by the little wasp without any intimidation whatsoever.
When Roderick heard this, he just wanted to burst out laughing.
“Sorry, sorry, I’ve met Barton Hamilton, and I’m pretty sure he’s not the Fairy King. He has someone backing him. Although I don’t know who it is.”
Roderick was relentlessly persistent. He knew the Avengers were going to deal with the Fairy King, but he didn't know who the Fairy King was.
Banner, oblivious to the commotion on the other side, was analyzing and examining Venom's condition and Peter's blood sample. His conclusion was not good, so after organizing his thoughts, he approached Peter and said, "Um, Spider-Man, I suggest you don't use the symbiote in combat for the next few days."
“You mean emotions, Dr. Banner? I can control them…”
“It’s not just about emotions, but of course, it’s also related to emotions. Separating from the symbiote during this period will help you recover your normal emotions,” Banner said helplessly. “But the bigger problem is that the symbiote has been severely damaged and needs enough time to repair itself. This repair process may take more than a week to allow your symbiote’s molecules to return to their previous state.”
Peter glanced at the venom in the jar and nodded.
At that moment, a green goblin's image appeared on the computer screen. A green goblin head quickly appeared and spoke: "Hello, friends, I am Green Goblin, and I have now taken control of the entire laboratory..."
Peter stood up, pulled the lever on the wall, and cut off the network and power, then forced a restart. Amidst the confused looks of the others, Peter, having restored the lights, explained, "This is... a network isolation device prepared to guard against Ultron."
"I'm just curious, why did you just cut off the power?"
“The Green Goblin has taken control of the lab, which means the Fairy King can directly access Osborn Technologies’ network.” Peter looked at Banner, not stating his conclusion completely, but in his view, it was already quite obvious who the Green Goblin was.
Norman Osborn.
Norman has access to the entire laboratory. Can anyone else do that? Not even Harry. Only he and Norman have that access.
But this time, Peter was surprisingly wrong.
“Hey guys, I’m here to deliver a package. Can you open the door?” Tony’s voice came from outside the door. Peter stretched out his hand, but his Spider-Sense didn’t register anything, so he opened the door and saw Tony wearing armor, but with his visor open. “Ah, great, you’re all here. Let me explain the situation.”
Tony quickly explained the mastermind behind it all: Green Goblin is indeed Norman, but he is not entirely Norman. There is now a second personality Green Goblin who is taking over Norman's body, and there is also an AI Green Goblin who is infiltrating the world's networks to eliminate all enemies who can pose a threat to him.
Peter paused for a moment, then asked a question.
"If Green Goblin's goal is to hide, why bring in an entire goblin army? Wouldn't it have been better to just let Hamilton cause trouble? There's no need to go to such lengths."
Tony paused, realizing he hadn't considered this question before. After a moment's thought, Tony suddenly had an idea: "That guy's a megalomaniac who likes to control other people's minds, and besides, he has some mental issues. So, he needs a grand performance to demonstrate his existence. Yes! To prove his worth, the stronger his presence, the more magnificent his exit, the better he can escape unscathed..."
Tony stopped, because this was a huge show.
“The Green Goblin’s purpose hasn’t changed. His goal is still to hide himself. All of this, the goblins he modified coming out in droves, and his taking over Norman’s body, are probably all part of a grand performance.” Tony realized, “If we stop Norman Osborn, then wipe out the entire goblin army, and it looks like we’ve erased all traces of him from the network, then no one can prove that he wasn’t wiped out.”
"He gave the Avengers a great victory, and then walked away unscathed, secretly plotting new schemes?" Banner nodded. "So... he needs a big guy?"
"Yes, we need a big guy that won't be burned to charcoal by temperatures of several thousand degrees."
After listening to Tony's entire explanation, Peter looked at Tony and asked, "Mr. Stark, how do we completely erase all traces of the Green Goblin AI from the internet, and then hide it?"
"What should I do... I should definitely erase all the data, then hide myself inside some host hardware and wait for the day I can make a comeback."
"What if there's a detection procedure?"
Tony and Banner exchanged a glance and began to think. Finally, they came up with a suitable answer. Banner spoke first: "Then let's find a host that can move freely without having to re-enter the network, such as a robot, or... the human brain."
The human brain, the true Green Goblin as Norman's second personality, is taking over Norman's body. So, as the artificial intelligence Green Goblin, who should he turn to in order to obtain the physical body while ensuring that Norman, the Green Goblin, and all the artificial intelligence data are lost?
Peter stood up, but Banner quickly stopped him: "Your symbiote hasn't recovered yet."
"I'm not Venom, I'm Spider-Man."
As Peter spoke, he took off the all-black suit that Felicia had given him from the mannequin at the Spiderweb base: "I know what the Green Goblin is going to do. I'm going to stop him."
