Chapter 365 Killing a Green Goblin
Chapter 365 Killing a Green Goblin
Almost at the same time that Spider-Man dealt with as many as 22 goblins, Norman Osborn arrived at the top floor of Avengers Tower. Almost as soon as the elevator doors opened, he saw the Avengers scrutinizing him.
“I know what you’re thinking. I’m right here, proving that I’m not controlling things remotely. And my blood sample is normal, so you can rest assured.”
"Okay, so how exactly do we deal with this so-called Green Goblin?"
Tony asked the most crucial question right from the start, but Norman was truly at a loss for words: "I don't know either. I didn't inject myself with the Green Goblin serum. But I do know what the Green Goblin serum is made of."
Regarding this question, anyone who saw the video inside Kang's metal sphere knows that it involved the Erkins serum, gamma radiation, and the guidance of Norman Osborn's own Green Goblin personality. But the question is, how do those who didn't see it know?
"There is only one possibility: in the timeline where you Avengers did not choose to interfere with history, there exists another Green Goblin besides me, and that excludes Harry."
There are other Green Goblins...
The two scientists present frowned. This possibility was not out of the question, but as the original Green Goblin, Norman Osborn was extremely special; he was the source of the Green Goblin serum.
In other words, if it were the Green Goblin instead of the weakened Demon, then Norman Osborn's genetic sequence and compatibility with the other party would have to be taken into account.
"We need your DNA sample..."
“If you can’t catch another Green Goblin, having my DNA is useless. You can’t filter targets based on the uniqueness of their DNA.” Norman said, while giving a list of potential Green Goblin candidates: “My personal psychiatrist, Barton Hamilton, is the most likely candidate. I’ve tested him, and he has undoubtedly received Kang the Conqueror’s Orb as well. Moreover, he is my psychiatrist, and he has communicated with the Green Goblin.”
Only someone who has actually met the real Green Goblin could imitate him so perfectly. That's the reason Norman gave. Moreover, Barton Hamilton is a psychiatrist with a wider network of connections than Roderick, making it easier for him to grasp more secrets and incriminating information about high-ranking officials.
Without a doubt, only someone like this is more suitable for the title of so-called King of Fairies.
"I'll go arrest him."
The captain immediately stood up. Tony and Hank looked at the captain, remembering the words the Fairy King had spoken.
"Only one left. As long as we complete the arrest after Spider-Man takes care of the Green Goblin, then we won't be considered to be in conflict with the Fairy King."
So, what's the situation with Spider-Man, who's about to fight the Green Goblin?
Peter's condition was quite poor. On one hand, Venom had endured too much high temperature and was in a very weak state; on the other hand, Peter had also suffered some injuries from the series of explosions. His arm felt a burning pain, probably because he had withstood too many explosions as a symbiote.
And what about the Green Goblin in front of us?
He was a tall man, about 1.9 meters tall, but much shorter than other gamma-ray artifacts. His physique was obscured by his exoskeleton armor. And unlike other goblins, this Green Goblin seemed stern and unsmiling.
It can't be Norman; Peter already knows from the communications that Norman has arrived at Avengers Tower. It can't be Harry either; if it were Harry, Norman would have already explained. So who exactly is this Green Goblin?
It didn't matter anymore. Spider-Man retrieved the severely damaged symbiote and rushed forward to throw a punch, while Green Goblin casually grabbed Spider-Man's wrist, as if he intended to break Peter's arm.
Then, Green Goblin flew up into the air.
The moment his wrist was grabbed, Peter swung his arm and slammed the Green Goblin into the air, then slammed him heavily to the ground. Before he could let go, Spider-Man punched the Green Goblin's mask with his left fist, tearing it off completely. Then, he saw a very strange face.
That's Norman Osborn's face.
In an instant, Peter's mind raced with thoughts, but then the Green Goblin suddenly laughed, and Peter quickly kicked him away. The pumpkin bomb exploded at extremely close range, and Peter shielded himself from the heatwave before watching the Green Goblin emerge from within.
He was holding a human skin mask.
"Hahaha, I knew you'd fall for it, Spider-Man. You must be terrified to see dear Norman Osborn, right?"
Green Goblin laughed heartily, reverting to the tone of the Fairy King. The intense heat, enough to incinerate a person, only burned his head into a red skull, or perhaps a Ghost Rider, while his exoskeleton armor was completely immune to the pumpkin bomb attack.
The other person seemed to have forgotten the pain from the searing flames, smiling as he looked at Spider-Man: "Look, Spider-Man, I'm showing you just how terrifying the Green Goblin is. See? The flames can't hurt him! And then there's his power!"
The Green Goblin swung a punch, which Peter caught with his left hand. Then Peter punched the Green Goblin's burning head again. The Green Goblin staggered several steps from the blow and couldn't help but laugh.
"Okay, it seems that even a slightly more suitable candidate is still not as strong as Norman. His punch should be stronger than yours, and only with the symbiote can you fight him."
The Fairy King chuckled and laughed, completely unconcerned about the man's life or death. He smiled as he watched Peter, enduring wave after wave of attacks, occasionally trying to retaliate, but was easily stopped.
But so what?
The Fairy King has a large "talent pool." This week, 23 goblins died, and next week there may be another 23. The endless enemies will always find an opportunity to kill Spider-Man.
And so, amidst his laughter, the burning Green Goblin finally lost its life and collapsed helplessly to the ground.
Peter gasped for breath as he looked at the corpse lying on the ground.
it's not finished yet.
In the costume design studio in the fantasy world, Roderick Kingsley, who was watching TV with Jonah Jameson, began to worry about his brother's safety. However, a sudden turn of events interrupted him. Spider-Man, dressed in black, broke through the window, rushed in front of Jonah and Mary Jane, and lifted Roderick up.
"Roderick Kingsley, you have a human bomb inside you, just like the other demons! Why!"
