Chapter 243 Call in another batch of reinforcements!
Just as Peter and his companions were receiving information about the Cosmic Cube from Mar-Vell, Thor and the sorcerer Adam began their pursuit of Kovac in the sky.

“We cannot let Kovac act recklessly. He doesn’t know how to control his power. If we let him run wild, the Earth will be destroyed.”

Upon hearing this, Thor, who was flying high in the sky, immediately accelerated and rushed to Kovac's side, reminding him as he flew: "Kovac, we are not your enemy, nor will we hand you over to the so-called Conqueror Kang. Now, stop, and the Avengers will help you."

"Help? Where is your help?"

Kovacs just screamed and flew around wildly, without actually attacking Thor. Thor frowned and simply grabbed Kovacs, who, in his panic, emitted a terrifying blue energy. Warlock Adam watched in horror as Kovacs exploded violently in mid-air.

After the flash of the explosion subsided, an unharmed Thor embraced Kovac and reassured him righteously: "The Avengers are not your enemies, Kovacs. You came to the Avengers for help, and I am one of them. I am right here."

Warlock Adam watched in astonishment as Kovac recovered from his rapid breathing, then looked at Thor with disbelief and flew to his side: "I have never seen such a powerful being as you. Kovac just unleashed such powerful energy, yet you are completely unharmed."

"The vitality of the people of the Divine Realm is beyond the imagination of ordinary creatures, but even so, I am not invincible."

Since Kovac had calmed down, it seemed that he had lost the ability to fly. Thor grabbed him by the back of his collar like he was carrying a chick and flew towards Puerto Rico. But during the flight, Kovac suddenly started crying out again.

"Kang is here!"

That elusive conqueror, Kang? He's back again?
Before Thor and Adam could react, time was frozen once more. Kang the Conqueror, seated on his flying throne, aimed at Kovac from a distance. This time, no one could stop Kang. Once he shattered Kovac into countless fragments and tossed them into the chaotic flow of time, he would cease to be a threat and could no longer interfere with Kang's empire.

So he pulled the trigger of the time-manipulating gun in his hand, and a green energy beam shot towards Kovac. But this time, just like last time, just before Kovac was hit, his scream broke the frozen time. Kang watched with a grim face as Kovac fell from mid-air, dodging the shot.

Thor dodged the time ray just in time, then went down and pulled Kovac up again, looking at Kang: "Kang, the Conqueror, whatever your purpose, you have placed this planet in an extremely dangerous situation. You must abandon the danger that threatens this planet."

“I have already told you that the man in your hands is capable of causing far more harm than you expect. He is a terrifying being who will destroy the entire existing structure of the real universe.”

Kang immediately launched into a string of incomprehensible phrases, talking about the multiverse, the structure of reality, and all sorts of other nonsensical things, leaving everyone else completely bewildered. But more importantly—they didn't see any threat from Kovacs.

Rather, it was Conqueror Kang who consistently posed a threat, repeatedly threatening Kovac and causing the living bomb to become emotionally unstable.

However, Kang the Conqueror didn't actually intend to do anything about it. For Kang, he and his empire existed outside the normal timeline. Even if he destroyed 21st-century Earth, it wouldn't prevent him from ruling 31st-century Earth. The Time Stone granted him and his empire the power to exist beyond timelines. If it weren't for the multiverse collision crisis triggered in 2015 that would lead to the complete destruction of the entire universe, he wouldn't have bothered with such matters. Even if he destroyed 21st-century Earth, he still had to ensure he could alter the history of the multiverse collision crisis and protect his empire.

“Stop, Kang. Your actions will only cause more damage. You can’t jump to conclusions about things that haven’t happened yet.” Adam also stood protectively in front of Kovacs: “Are you really that sure Kovacs caused the crisis?”

"The energy reading was exactly the same as the energy level on his body; there was no doubt that he was the one who did it."

Although Kang lacks concrete evidence to prove Kovacs was responsible because the entire 2015 timeline is inaccessible, various circumstantial pieces of evidence support the claim. Unfortunately, Kovacs possesses the power to transcend the constraints of time, and with him present, Kang has no way to resolve this issue.

So Kang simply disappeared, leaving behind a serious-looking Thor and a helpless-looking Adam.

“He’s not even willing to negotiate.” Adam sighed helplessly, feeling quite frustrated with Conqueror Kang’s behavior. Since they couldn’t catch him, they had no choice but to return to Puerto Rico to resolve the issue.

While Thor and his companions were trying to stop Kovacs, Peter had already called for new reinforcements. It wasn't the Avengers. While the Avengers were capable of dealing with the Cosmic Cube and Kang the Conqueror, it wasn't enough. To deal with 31st-century charlatans and 31st-century artifacts, they needed other charlatans to handle the situation.

When Thor and Adam returned, the Fantastic Four's supersonic car had already arrived in Puerto Rico, and they descended slowly together with Thor.

"This is the reinforcement you found? Mr. Fantastic Reed Richards?"

Gwen watched the descending flying car and asked curiously, "Can he handle 31st-century technology?"

"I don't know, but if the smartest people in the world can't solve this problem, then no one else can either."

Carol watched Gwen and Peter chat, then glanced at Cindy, whose face was only partially covered, and a bold idea popped into her head: "I saw that girl on the bus. She was a student visiting the university. Do you think Spider-Man might also be a high school student?"

"High school student...what's wrong?" Mar-Vell looked at Carol in confusion when asked this, then seemed to understand something: "Wait, you're not planning to investigate Spider-Man's true identity, are you? How would that help?"

"I just... can't believe that we're going to have to rely on high school students to save the world."

The comic book series actually depicts the 40th century, but to bridge some technological gaps and unify some unnecessary settings, it was changed to the 31st century, just like Kovacs.
