Chapter 206 Spider-Man VS Riot
Chapter 206 Spider-Man VS Riot
The Devourer is characterized by its strong defense and powerful strength, but its speed is not fast. Therefore, Peter immediately determined his fighting style and used his invisibility ability to disappear completely.
The Devourer himself wasn't very intelligent, but the Fitz he possessed was exceptionally intelligent and quickly figured out Spider-Man's strategy. So the Devourer also chose the same method, directly slamming his giant fist into the ground, cracking it and filling it with smoke. Even invisible people could be revealed.
At the same time, Devourer stuck out its tongue and began to use its sense of taste to locate Spider-Man in the smoke.
coming.
A giant fist slammed down behind him, but it didn't hit Spider-Man. In astonishment, Devourer looked over and saw Spider-Man rolling up an entire heavy warehouse door to protect himself.
Before Devourer could react, a sound wave generator naturally struck its head. Devourer disintegrated, and Peter simply pulled Fitz out—none of these three symbiotes were immune to sound waves and high temperatures, making them easy to deal with.
The problem is the riots.
Where did the riots go?
Just as Peter was thinking this, a deep voice rang out behind him, and then the dark gray symbiote finally appeared. He was probably the symbiote that most resembled Venom among all of them. Just by looking at them, the two symbiotes were no different except for their color. Riot also did not have the flashy skills that the other three had.
He was even the shortest one, only about 1.8 meters tall, the same height as Ward, the body he possessed.
"You really are kind, Spider-Man, even thinking about saving people, not even killing a single symbiote." Riot said, controlling the sticky bio-material on his body to pull up two of Spider-Man's defeated comrades, tossed them aside, and then walked over. Peter silently watched Riot, then suddenly and without warning performed a side somersault, dodging Riot's gunfire.
That was a sonic attack.
“Fitz’s little tech, he handed it over to us.” Riot laughed as he showed Peter the pistol in his hand, then fused it with his arm. Riot’s arm then fired a powerful sonic cannon, destroying a burning warehouse. Peter understood Riot’s implication and told Venom to hide—Riot was now the enemy with weapons against symbiotes, while Venom was the one who feared them all; the roles had reversed.
The next moment, Peter disappeared from Riot's sight. Riot chuckled, thinking, "Did you think the same trick would work on me?" He had already prepared everything. He had assimilated S.H.I.E.L.D.'s infrared camera equipment. The next moment, he saw Spider-Man.
Spider-Man carried Fitz out of the battlefield.
Riot paused for a moment, then laughed. Just as Peter handed Fitz over to the medics, Riot emerged from the flames and walked directly towards the street. Sheriff Stacy, seeing this, immediately ordered everyone to fire. A hail of bullets rained down on Riot, who nonchalantly used his left hand as a giant shield to block the bullets as he approached.
As Sheriff Stacy fired her gun, she looked at Peter, who remained motionless beside her and said, "Spider-Man, aren't you going to do something?"
"Actually, I'm waiting, Sheriff."
"Wait for what? Are you suggesting we cease fire?"
The answer was quickly revealed: a red and gold steel suit of armor landed in front of Peter and opened. Peter stepped into the suit, and after it closed completely, he glanced at the sheriff: "This is what I've been waiting for."
Having said that, Peter's bioelectricity operated at full capacity, even overload, working in conjunction with the arc-shaped reactor inside the Iron Spider armor. Five white energy beams were fired at full power from the repulsion cannons on the armor's hands and the firing ports at the tips of its three mechanical claws, striking Riot's left-hand shield and melting it instantly. "You say you're not afraid of flames? Perhaps, Riot, but that only applies to ordinary flames. Flames at a fire scene generally don't exceed 1000 degrees Celsius. Now, let me see if you can withstand temperatures exceeding 6000 degrees!"
The intensity of the five intense rays exceeded Riot's expectations. He hadn't anticipated such a terrifying attack. Or rather, S.H.I.E.L.D. didn't actually know about the existence of the Iron Spider armor. It was precisely because of this that Peter wasn't afraid of Riot's existence at all. The four symbiotes were indeed powerful, and the Avengers were indeed not in New York right now, but their absence did not mean that Peter's identity as an Avenger was meaningless.
The Riot, writhing in excruciating pain from the burning sensation on his body, immediately chose a better way to fight back—amidst his groans, he transformed back into Grant Ward. Peter, as expected, stopped his attack, letting Ward fall to the ground. While keeping watch for Riot's next move, Peter turned Ward over and looked at him.
"Are you alright, Ward?"
"Spider-Man, you can't...you can't kill me!"
???
Where is this going?
Peter helped Ward up, bewildered, completely unable to understand what Ward was trying to say. But Ward had already shared the memories of the riot and seen the riot's plan: "The purpose of the riot is to kill you, or kill me. As long as either of us dies... Nar will be freed."
"what?"
Peter had never heard of this concept before. In the comics, Nar's resurrection was accomplished by Dark Carnage collecting a large number of marks. How could he now just kill one of them and absorb a mark to be resurrected?
"Come to your senses a little more and explain yourself more clearly."
"what!!!"
Ward let out a standard William scream and turned to see Whiplash, who had jumped into the sea, climbing ashore. Yes, Peter hadn't released Whiplash's host in time; he was still mobile. But even so, both Whiplash and Riot should have realized they were no match for him.
Wait a minute... there's a "hybrid" symbiote in the comic!
As Ward was dragged over, Riot enveloped him once more, followed by Devouring and Extremism. Whiplash, abandoning its original temporary host, merged with the symbiote. The four symbiotes fused together, ultimately forming a bizarre, red humanoid creature. Its viscous texture was even more pronounced, and it grew significantly larger. The tentacles extending from its back resembled more of... octopus tentacles than whips, large and appearing to be part of the creature itself.
"Now your flames are useless, Spider-Man!"
Peter sighed helplessly.
"The boss has to have a second phase, right?"
