Chapter 158 Wasteland Rebirth?

It all started with a bolt of lightning from the rolling dark clouds—not from a zombie, but from Thor.

To be precise, it's Spider-Man wielding Thor's hammer without a mask—everyone already knows that the dead Spider-Man was Peter Parker, which is why it's all the more awe-inspiring when Peter Parker reappears in this world.

The old and decaying Baron Zemo watched all this quietly. A lot had happened in the past few days. First, Magneto was dead, though some said he wasn't. In any case, Magneto's territory had changed hands. Hawkeye, now wearing the Necrolock prosthetic eye, announced that he had taken over Hulklands and Magneto's territory, declaring himself the new lord of the land. In his own words, the American Midwest would once again be under the protection of the Avengers.

How many Avengers do you have?
The answer is actually quite a few.

First, there are Peter and Deadpool, who temporarily come to help. Their first task is to help Hawkeye eliminate his old enemies, his former teammates from the Thunderbolts. It was these people who betrayed the Avengers, allowing Red Skull to obtain the internal information of the Avengers base. Then there's Atlas, who can grow to enormous sizes; the bootleg Captain Marvel Moonstone; and the villain codenamed Beetle, Mach X.

He then actually found a few old hands willing to come out of retirement, such as the only former Thunderbolts member who deserved forgiveness, Cryingbird; his former apprentice, Kate Bishop; Yelena, the second Black Widow living in Florida; the X-Men survivor Craftsman; and Vision's daughter, Vivi Vision. Of course, there was also Hawkeye's daughter, the new Spider-Woman, Ashley Barton, who originally planned to codename herself Spider-Bitch—it's truly baffling what she was thinking.

Logan didn't choose to come out of retirement, but he dared to show his claws to those guys who came to his house demanding protection money, which might be a good thing.

In short, this group of veteran avengers has been formed. They don't plan to head east to cause trouble for Red Skull for the time being, but instead focus on dealing with the problems in the west first.

As for Red Skull, he won't make a move until the massive Mjolnir above his head is gone.

That's why Peter and his team were able to sweep through the world so quickly. He smashed open the old Weapon X research facility underground in the Rocky Mountains, which housed a minor villain called Avalanche and Hydra's army. After the Sunset Avengers rushed in, they quickly dealt with the enemies inside. Zemo, the mastermind behind Citizen V's infiltration of the Thunderbolts, was simply pierced through the heart by Hawkeye's arrows.

They also made an unexpected discovery: the super soldier serum that Hydra had painstakingly developed for 45 years!
In Universe 616, Hydra is practically able to wholesale this stuff...

Finally, only one thing remained.

A few days later, on the outskirts of New Babylon (formerly New York City), Peter entered the ruins of the former Baxter Building. Beneath this place lay a Hulkbuster armor, and more importantly, it revealed the future of this universe. If the Herbie of this universe possessed a barely functional time machine, then Mr. Fantastic and the Invisible Woman would have already perished in the runaway currents.

If not, then it proves that they will eventually return, but that's not why Peter came here.

But it was for one thing: the ultimate eraser.

The Ultimate Eraser is a powerful artifact in the Marvel Universe that can destroy the entire universe. To be precise, anything it targets will be destroyed. This thing was originally Galactus's private collection, but it was stolen by the Fantastic Four and brought back to Earth to deal with Galactus.

If they could get their hands on that thing, they would have more confidence whether the future Galactus invaded Earth or the Sunset Red Avengers in the wasteland protected themselves. After all, Peter already knew what had happened in this universe and would be leaving soon. After he left, they would have to fight against endless villains on their own, so they would need to find some trump cards.

or……

"Could we transform this universe into the future base of the Spider Alliance?"

Peter muttered to himself as he walked through the Baxter Building. The wasteland, especially the West Coast, had suffered nuclear attacks from the Red Skull, resulting in a certain level of nuclear radiation, but this level of radiation was not fatal.

The villains who want to perform the ritual to destroy the Web of Fate, the "Inheritors" who specifically hunt Spider-Man across the multiverse, are terrified of nuclear radiation contamination. In other words, building a base here can effectively resist the Inheritors' invasion. Judging from the attitude of the Web Gods, they are unaware of the Inheritors' specific weaknesses and are simply relying on their own strength to fight.

Therefore, establishing a base here has advantages: the villains are weak, the population is sparse, the locals won't refuse modification, and it can resist the invasion of the successors. [Outsider detected.]

Upon seeing the old robot Herbie, Peter sighed. Reed and Susan wouldn't be traveling through time to save the world.
-
"Thank you for everything you've done for my universe."

Hawkeye gave Peter and Wade a final hug, took the Ultimate Eraser from Peter, and asked Peter, "You really don't plan to take that hammer with you?"

"That is the hope that Thor left for you in this universe. When someone is willing to take on that responsibility, they can all lift Thor's hammer."

Peter doesn't intend to take Thor's hammer with him. This universe might need Thor's hammer more, and the combined power of Venom and the Iron Spider suit is more than enough for the current 616 universe. Besides...

"If I ever really need this hammer, you wouldn't just stop me from using it, would you?"

Hawkeye laughed heartily: "We welcome you to come back anytime."

“Yes, maybe one day I’ll bring a lot of friends to this wasteland.” Peter smiled and handed the last box to Hawkeye: “Oh right, this is for Ashley, she’ll need this.”

Watching the two people leave through the spatial rift, Hawkeye opened the box in confusion. Inside were the web-shooter and the formula for the web-spinning liquid.

"Where in this wasteland can you find a tall building where you can swing on spider webs?"

Meanwhile, Deadpool and Peter were chatting and laughing: "Do you think the spider inside that ring will actually glow..."

With a burst of light, the two returned to Baxter Tower in Universe 616. Upon their return, the fully armed Avengers immediately targeted Deadpool.

"Deadpool! Surrender your weapons now and return to custody."

Deadpool looked at Peter.

"Are you serious?"

"Yes."

Peter produced a pair of handcuffs from somewhere and cuffed him: "I've been planning to do this for a long time."

Just by looking at it, it seems there are still quite a few people alive in the wasteland... There's still some content to be added to the wasteland universe, but it won't be a dungeon to play anymore. It will be transformed into Spider-Man's base camp and a refugee camp for the multiverse.

Was the setup in the previous chapter too forced? I feel like I don't like a lot of the Spider Gods' concept and plot.

Next, it's time to return to the main universe; Kraven and the Vulture have already been arranged.
