Chapter 157 Under the Spider Web
After a while, Deadpool and Hawkeye woke up. Hawkeye looked at his daughter and Peter resting beside him, not knowing what had happened. Only Deadpool, after waking up, exclaimed with lingering emotion: "Oh no, I dreamed that I became the greatest superhero, famous all over the world, and even surpassed Wolverine in popularity polls!"

"I thought you were going to say that you've become the greatest movie star."

Deadpool sat up, looked at Peter, then stood up and patted his butt: "No, that's Ryan Reynolds's pipe dream. Only that guy who has no movies to make in our universe and is wallowing in the failure of Green Lantern would daydream like that. I'm not Ryan Reynolds, I don't need to be a movie star."

After saying that, Deadpool removed his mask: "I am now, without a doubt, the sexiest man in Canada."

Ashley almost vomited when she saw Deadpool's face, while Hawkeye laughed heartily, then looked at Anansi, who was electrocuted and unconscious: "So, what do we do with this guy? Are you just going to keep pressing him down with Thor's hammer like this?"

"I don't know. Even the combined power of the entire multiverse's Thor Spiders couldn't kill him. This hammer alone certainly couldn't do it." Peter shrugged helplessly. That attack certainly couldn't reach the multiverse, but it was probably beyond the single-target range. In any case, the fact that such a massive force couldn't kill Anansi proves that this guy is indeed outrageous as an enemy, at least he has a lot of health.

Ashley, who had been watching this scene, asked a question at this moment: "Where did all those lightning bolts go?"

“I don’t know,” Peter answered honestly. “I just went with my gut feeling and sent them where they were needed, I guess.”

As he said this, Anansi woke up. He looked at the hammer pressing against his chest, trying to move it but unable to.

"I should have left this to Phoenix; she's not afraid of this stuff."

"Phoenix?" Hawkeye was startled upon hearing this word: "You have phoenixes?"

“Of course, the Spider Legion is far more powerful than you think.” Anansi chuckled.

"I (you) am merely the weakest of the Spider Gods." *3
Anansi fell silent. He lay on the ground, turning his head to look at Peter and Deadpool, who had stolen his lines. He remained silent, while Deadpool simply shrugged: "I told you, it was definitely this line. These bad organizations always use the same routine, coming one after another to provide the protagonist with experience for growth."

Peter scratched his head. As long as it wasn't the Phoenix from the 616 main universe, Peter's move just now could at least have been a 50/50 fight. But the problem was that since the Spider Gods were gods, there must be more than one, and Peter couldn't possibly fight multiple opponents at once.

At that moment, Anansi made an unexpected move, uttering rhythmic lines.

"Dark days and boundless nights. Hiding in the dark earth, abandoning the light. Benevolence and righteousness are gone, divine power is boundless. All worlds are overturned, all are caught in the spider's web!"

"That's it! That's it!" Deadpool suddenly exclaimed, while Peter was speechless. These guys actually came up with a lantern oath?

As Anansi spoke, he suddenly gagged, and a ring containing a spider appeared in his mouth. Anansi smiled and left with his last words.

"Don't worry, 'Chief,' we won't let the Spider Gods stop you so easily. Every time a spider totem capable of shaking the universe crosses the multiverse, it causes the Web of Life and Fate to tremble, weakening the Web's sealing effect on the Hive Goddess. If the Web of Fate really tells you who the Hive Lady is."

With a fleeting afterimage, Anansi vanished. Peter's spider-sense returned to normal, trembling incessantly until it subsided, at which point he was certain Anansi had truly left. "Won't they send other Spider Gods? Does that mean they can send ordinary multiverse spider totems? What's the difference…?" Peter thought to himself, while Hawkeye asked with concern, "What is this Hive Goddess he mentioned?"

"That's probably why the Spider Gods are recruiting. They are a multiverse-level deity named Shasra."

Next, Peter explained to everyone who Shasla was, assuming that the Web of Fate had told him. Shasla was the daughter of Gaia, the most powerful of the four ancient gods. Gaia, wanting to better help all humanity in the multiverse, hoped his daughter Shasla would create a celestial map of humanity. Shasla ultimately provided an answer: the Great Nest, a model of a honeycomb structure. Each human soul could grow and evolve alone within the honeycomb, until finally merging into the honeycomb consciousness called the Great Nest.

However, Sasra's sister, another goddess named Ness, created a celestial map even more superior than Sasra's, the "Great Web," a web of future life and destiny. Here, each human soul is not confined to an isolated hive, nor is it integrated into the hive's consciousness. Instead, they move along the web, forming a symphony of souls, possessing free will. Ultimately, Gaia chose Ness's Great Web.

Shasla, enraged by the chaos caused by free will within the giant web, decided to destroy it and replace it with her own hive, ultimately ending the chaos brought about by free will. Of course, she failed; her true form was sealed within the web of fate, unable to escape.

Shasla is a relatively obscure villain, so why would Peter know about her? Because her storyline follows the major comic event "Spider-Man's End," after the Web of Fate was destroyed. Having finished the event, Peter naturally followed up on what happened after the Web of Fate was destroyed, and that's how he learned about her.

“A… multiverse-level evil god?” Hawkeye’s voice changed: “What would happen if she escaped the seal?”

"She will replace the Web of Fate with her own hive, without a doubt. This will alter the reality of the entire multiverse, depriving all humanity of free will. But don't worry, the Web of Fate is now unbreakable, as long as those so-called Spider Gods don't run around."

Peter added in his mind, "Or perhaps someone has completed the ritual to destroy the Web of Fate."

The first step is to find "something else" and smear its blood on the web of fate so that the spider totem will not reside on living things. In the original comics, "something else" was his clone Kane, but now no one is cloning him.

The second step is to find the "Bride" and let her blood flow through the threads of fate, ensuring that the spider totem will never appear by chance again. The "Bride" is Cindy, and she is the person Peter needs to protect.

The third step is the Offspring, the youngest spider among all creations. After the first two steps are completed, killing the Offspring will cause the Web of Fate to collapse. The Offspring should be the newest, newly born spider totem in the entire multiverse, somewhat randomized, originally a child of Peter from some universe.

As long as the spider web gods don't run away and prevent the ritual from taking place, Shasla will not be at risk of breaking the seal.

probably.

Thank you Anshe for providing the lantern group oath.

Shasla first appeared in *The Amazing Spider-Man v2* #46 in 2002. Initially, she was simply an entity that fought against the Spider-Totem. However, after Spider-Apocalypse, she was suddenly patched up and transformed into a multiverse-level queen, codenamed "Spider-Wasp."
