I'm working on Marvel's Spider-Man in American comics.
Chapter 147 Old Man Logan
Chapter 147 Old Man Logan
"Logan, my old buddy!"
Hawkeye smiled and walked toward Logan, an old man who was repairing the fence on his farm: "I brought some gifts for my son, the latest game console and batteries—back when these things were still in production."
"What are you doing here?" Old Logan asked Hawkeye as he hammered in the stakes, but Hawkeye's smile vanished. "You know," he replied.
"For revenge."
"For justice."
Logan sighed, nailed the stake in place, and wiped the sweat from his brow. In the distance, he saw two people sitting in Hawkeye's well-maintained Spider-Man car. They looked somewhat familiar, but he looked old.
He couldn't see who it was.
He couldn't even smell who it was.
"To hell with justice, Clint."
Logan stood up and looked at his old friend: "Justice died fucking 45 years ago. Only a fool would think about justice."
"That's not necessarily true, Logan. I brought two more with me..."
Suddenly, a red thing flew out of the Spider-Man car and stuck itself upside down in the ground. Logan stared silently at the red butt sticking out in front of him for a long time before finally managing to utter a sentence.
"What the fxxk?"
"Yes, it's me, your old friend Wade. Can you pull me out of your field?"
Logan then looked at Hawkeye.
"From which nook and cranny did you pull this guy out?"
"He didn't come from some random corner," Hawkeye said somewhat awkwardly. "He's from another universe, with another Spider-Man from another universe."
Spider-Man?
Logan looked at the black-clad Spider-Man who was getting off the Spider-Man vehicle. As the Spider-Man walked towards him, he put away his symbiote suit, revealing the classic red and blue uniform underneath.
Logan rubbed his eyes.
"So Reed Richards was right, other universes really do exist. And you think you can end all this with two young guys from other worlds?"
Even if Red Skull, the president, is dead now, there are others—Doom, Magneto, and even Banner—whose monsters have already ruled the world. Putting aside whether these two can help Clint complete his revenge, even if they could, would the world become a better place?
“Actually, we're just here to find the girl. Once we find her, we'll go back.” Deadpool pulled his head out of the ground and dusted himself off. Peter walked up to Hawkeye and whispered a few words in his ear. Hawkeye, who had been speechless, brightened up again and chuckled.
“No need, Logan. What I do is my business.”
Hawkeye chuckled, took out the money he'd earned from the escort mission, and handed it to Logan: "But we need a guide, who knows where that old Banner guy is. If we take care of him, you can pay less rent every year. Even if we die there, you can drive this cool Spider-Man back and sell it, so you won't lose out either way."
Logan looked at them, remained silent for a long time, then snatched the game console from Hawkeye's hand: "I'll go tell Marlene and the kids." Watching Logan return to the house, Hawkeye smiled and asked Peter, who had given the idea, "Do you think he'll change his mind if he follows us all the way?"
"I do not know."
Peter shrugged. "But it's better than it is now, right?"
A few minutes later, Logan, wearing a jacket and hat, came out and simply said indifferently, "Get in the car." Hawkeye then smiled and led everyone to the vehicle. Logan, acting as the guide, sat in the passenger seat, while Deadpool and Peter remained in the back. After starting the Spider-Man's engine, Hawkeye, in high spirits, turned on the car's stereo.
All the leaves have turned yellow, and the sky has turned gray. I stroll along, in a winter's day.
As night fell, the aroma of meat filled the Hulk's territory. In the final battle forty-five years ago, even the villainous alliance couldn't defeat the Hulk. Red Skull, in response, unleashed dozens of nuclear bombs on the California wasteland. The violent explosions and radiation didn't kill the Hulk, but they completely destroyed his brain. From that moment on, the Hulk became a true monster. His first act was to rape his cousin, She-Hulk Jennifer, amidst the nuclear rubble, because she was the only woman capable of withstanding the Hulk's power.
After that, the Hulk's bloodline continued in the wasteland, and under the tutelage of Monster Daddy, they became a new generation of monsters, a group of rational, wicked villains.
Logan thought to himself as he leaned against the Spider-Man car, drinking. The three suicidal idiots had found a car with almost no gas on the way and driven off, leaving Logan a few kilometers away. If they could take down the Hulk gang, they would be able to return safely. If not, Logan could escape from a few kilometers away.
Logan finished half a bottle of wine, sighed as he looked into the still distance, then got into the Spider-Man and drove towards the Hulk Gang's hideout. Halfway there, the night suddenly turned into day, flames rose from the distance, followed by a mushroom cloud of flames that gradually died down, and finally, a deafening explosion erupted.
"Oh my god..."
Logan knew that everything had begun.
An old, driverless heavy truck crashed into the Hulk gang's hideout, carrying various bombs that Deadpool and Hawkeye had practically put their all into making. These bombs might not kill Bruce Banner himself, but they would certainly kill his green-skinned offspring.
"Oh my god!"
Deadpool, riding his motorcycle into the inferno, pulled out his two adamantium knives. Ordinary weapons couldn't kill these bastards? No problem, I, Wade, have a special collection!
Before the Hulks not directly in the blast could even stand up, Deadpool chopped off their heads. Deadpool casually sheathed his sword, performed a classic Akira parking maneuver in the middle of the fire, dusted himself off, and looked at Spider-Man, who had just descended from the sky and broken a Hulk's spine with a single kick: "Seriously, Spider-Man. With Wade here, you just need to keep them immobilized. I'll handle the killing!"
"I'm not sure if they can even be considered human."
Peter glanced at the cooking utensils overturned by the bomb's shockwave, and the skeletons inside that the Hulk gang was preparing to feast on.
"I'm only sure that if I actually do it, I probably won't have any psychological burden."
Before he could finish speaking, an arrow pierced the Hulk's head, and Hawkeye stood dashingly at the very edge of the battlefield.
"Then leave the dirty work to us, son."
In reality, there are at least four versions of the wasteland universe. Although the versions from Twilight Hawk Returns to Wasteland Avengers can be considered to form a coherent line, there are countless bugs and inconsistencies. Therefore, all details will be based on the wasteland universe mentioned in this book.
The song Hawkeye was listening to was "California Dreaming," an anti-war anthem from the Vietnam War era.
