I'm working on Marvel's Spider-Man in American comics.
Chapter 146 Where did Mu Ying get two more Zhang Lao?
Chapter 146 Mu Ying... Where did these two chatterboxes come from?
Clint Barton, codenamed Hawkeye, is a former Avenger.
Forty-five years after the battle that ended all wars, there were no more superheroes. Now, Barton is just an ordinary bodyguard, making a meager living by escorting cargo for his employers. He had just fought a former X-Men clone who came to rob him, and everything should have been perfectly normal, until his last arrow, Hawkeye, who never misses, actually went astray.
This shouldn't be the case.
"Oh no, please don't..."
Eagle's eyes narrowed as he watched the clone escape, but a sudden gunshot made him alert again. The clone, who had run a distance away, fell to the ground, its head shattered by a bullet.
He heard two voices from his memory, voices that should have been very distant.
"Do you really have to kill someone the very first second we arrive in this universe?"
"Come on, Spider-Man, everyone knows this is a classic movie trope—the protagonist doesn't finish off the villain and ends up causing a whole bunch of trouble. Believe me, that old man should thank us. Besides, this is a clone, it's definitely not his entire clone."
Hawkeye rubbed his eyes, unable to believe what he was seeing. Spider-Man in a symbiote form, and Deadpool? He had thought he was just getting presbyopia, but was he so old that he was hallucinating?
Until he heard his employer ask him, "Do you know these two men, Clint?"
Yes, Spider-Man and Deadpool, they really appeared in front of me. Are they ghosts from the past, or a miracle of resurrection?
"Peter? Wade? Is that you?"
An awkward silence fell between Spider-Man and Deadpool, after which Deadpool laughed and put his arm around Spider-Man's shoulder.
"Wait, you share the same name as that Peter the Paste Bucket?"
“If you say Peter the glue bucket again, I’ll shove your head into a rock.”
"Oh." Deadpool simply pressed his head against Spider-Man's body: "You're so kind, you won't even press my mutant gene suppressor button."
Okay, Hawkeye is sure it's Spider-Man and Deadpool, there's no mistake.
A few hours later.
After completing the delivery request and receiving confirmation from his old friend, the former vigilante "Midnight Doctor," that he had glaucoma and would soon go blind, he...
"So, you're Peter from another universe, I mean Spider-Man and Deadpool? Looks like you're even wearing Venom." Hawkeye glanced at Peter in the rearview mirror and kindly reminded him, "Take this old man's advice, that's not something good on you."
“We get along well, and I know that Venom will cause some side effects.”
Hawkeye was about to say something when he saw Venom's head pop out of Spider-Man's body: "Yes, we get along very well."
It truly lives up to its name as a multiverse; all sorts of strange and wonderful things can happen here.
"So, you're here because you've been influenced by some kind of web of fate, and you're looking for this universe's Spider-Man?"
Hawkeye sighed with a sense of regret: "It's a pity you're 45 years too late. This universe's Spider-Man died 45 years ago."
"Actually, the person I'm looking for is the Spider Totem, not necessarily my own counterpart. I know who she is; her name is Ashley Barton, the old man."
Hawkeye chuckled. Ashley was his daughter with one of his ex-wives. If she was the Spider Totem, wouldn't that mean she would become a new superhero? Although that wasn't the case, it gave Hawkeye some comfort and confidence. As for Peter, he still didn't know why the Web of Fate had brought him here. The last time the Web of Fate trembled was because the Spider from Universe 42 went to Earth 700.
But since the wasteland universe doesn't involve the storylines of other universes, how could the Web of Fate be triggered?
Seeing Spider-Man's unusual silence in the rearview mirror, Hawkeye inquired with concern.
"Why do you look so upset, Peter?"
Hawkeye didn't say whether it was because of Peter the Glue Bucket; after all, Peter is currently wearing a symbiote, and who knows how fiery his temper might be. But that's fine, the wasteland needs a bit of drama.
“Well… one minute I was carrying a girl and swinging around New York City, and the next minute I had to pull this guy out of a pile of superglue and bring him here.” Peter sighed helplessly and painfully, “And then he kept telling me from the street to the Baxter Building that I should wear red.”
“Spider-Man should definitely wear red, just like Deadpool should wear red.” Wade completely ignored Peter’s complaints: “Hey, old man, where are you taking us?”
"Let's go visit an old friend first, and then we'll go home... to my daughter's place."
As Hawkeye spoke, he drove to a farm near a nearby farm. An elderly man, who looked fairly robust, was repairing his fence. Wade looked over and remarked, "Why do all the Wolverines look like Hugh Jackman now? Ever since 2000."
"Just like all Deadpools have to look like a combination of a Shar-Pei and Ryan Reynolds?"
"Shut up! You three-faced bastard!"
As the two talked, they watched Hawkeye chat with Old Man Logan, and Wade naturally continued the conversation.
"Generally speaking, this means the protagonist has settled into a peaceful life and is unwilling to return to the public eye. Events like the death of his last close friend or a family member will definitely be arranged to make him show his claws."
"Do you think Logan is the protagonist of this story?"
“Hey, Logan is second only to you in popularity, on par with that WWII Boy Scout.” Wade looked at Peter: “A Wolverine comic and a Hawkeye comic, anyone knows which one sells better, unless the Wolverine comic sells well first and then a prequel comic for some derivative character comes out.”
Peter shrugged; that was indeed the truth. He looked at Wade and asked, "Do you think it's better for him to come out of retirement or not?"
“Ah, so you want his help but don’t want to disrupt his peaceful life?” Deadpool laughed. “Think about it. Either you live like this, with a dead heart, or you have an even more dead heart and a painful awakening, as I said. That’s the only outcome for this old man.”
"So, it might be better if he could join us now?"
Deadpool didn't intend to reply, but then, seeing Spider-Man staring at him, he suddenly realized.
"Wait, you're not planning to make me..."
Then Peter kicked him out of the Spider-Man car.
Actually, they are three chatterboxes. Hawkeye's image in the comics is also that of a master of self-deprecation, and he talks a lot.
In the Marvel popularity poll, Spider-Man is overwhelmingly in first place, while Wolverine and Captain America are overwhelmingly in second and third place, respectively. Yes, Captain America consistently ranks in the top three of the Marvel popularity charts.
