Chapter 113 Thunder Special Forces!
“S.H.I.E.L.D. has investigated and confirmed it: Alexei Mikhailovich Sisevich, a henchman for a Russian mafia gang, a Russian-American. He left the gang a few years ago and works as a dockworker.” Blackie told Peter the story about Rhino: “He and his wife had a very good relationship, but his wife suffered from a very rare blood disease…”

"He underwent Otto Octavia's modifications because of this disease."

Peter understood; it wasn't just that he'd undergone reformation, but Kingpin had also paid a sum of money—a sum that Alexei considered quite satisfactory at the time. However, the cost of the treatment likely exceeded the horizons of this burly Russian man who had hardly ever seen money in his life. He thought the money Kingpin had given him was enough, but it wasn't, so he went out and robbed a bank.

“We need someone like him, and I plan to recruit him into S.H.I.E.L.D.”

As soon as Nick Fury finished speaking, Spider-Man's asymmetrical eyes, representing skepticism, came into view.

On the other side, watching the Rhino rampage through the streets, Hawkeye Clint Barton landed a Quinjet from S.H.I.E.L.D.

"We're facing a humanoid rhinoceros whose speed and strength can rival the Hulk's, and all the support you can get is an archer, a spy, and a little girl who can walk through walls."

Clint didn't shy away from making fun of himself, saying that the so-called Thunder agents team only consisted of four people: Hawkeye as the captain, Natasha Romanoff as Black Widow, Ava Starr as Ghost, and Goliath Bill Foster, who could grow to gigantic size.

Without a doubt, the only one in the entire team who could be effective in dealing with that rampaging rhinoceros was Goliath, who, like Ant-Man, used Pym Particles.

"I've heard that Hank Pym once had a strength contest with the Hulk, so good luck, Bill."

Watching Goliath jump out of the Quinjet, Black Widow, sitting in the co-pilot's seat, looked at Hawkeye with a puzzled expression: "Did Ant-Man ever compete with Hulk in strength?"

“Yes.” Hawkeye nodded affirmatively: “Haven’t you read the S.H.I.E.L.D. report? A giant over ten meters tall was slammed to the ground by a three-meter-tall green, naked child.”

Natasha nodded hesitantly, and the ghost who heard this sighed, put on its mask, and vanished from the plane in a dreamlike manner.

Spider-Man doesn't approve of Nick Fury's actions.

"I'm not very optimistic about your Thunder Commando team, mainly because you don't seem to have any effective methods to deal with the Rhino." He didn't quite understand why S.H.I.E.L.D. only sent four people: "Didn't you have more people to choose from?"

Before he could finish speaking, the giant Goliath was knocked to the ground, its massive body then crashing onto the street, potentially causing even more severe secondary damage than the Rhino's charge. Nick Fury sighed and reached for the microphone near his ear.

"What's wrong with you, Patton?"

"It's all taken care of, sir."

Clint Patton, atop the Quinjet, lowered his bow. He had never expected Goliath to defeat the Rhino, but Goliath could help distract the Rhino so he could fire an arrow infused with a potent tranquilizer. The Rhino had been modified to be almost inhuman in every way, except for his internal organs, which remained human-like.

"See? My team can handle all of this, and with just a little money, I can continue to expand my team."

Nick Fury was showing off to Peter, but Peter told Nick Fury something else: "I'm not so sure you can make it, Fury. I think Alexei might ask to finish his jail time before joining your team."

Then Peter ignored the dark-skinned man's face and asked, "So, what do you need me for?"

“Yesterday, Wilson Fisk surrendered, and today, more than a dozen large gangs have sprung up in New York. I don’t care what their situation is, but I’m pretty sure of one thing: these gang members aren’t normal.” Nick Fury made no attempt to hide his hacking into Peter’s mask system, sending him one eyewitness report and report after another. This information covered all aspects of New York, all districts. Almost every district had seen a significant increase in crime rates after Kingpin’s surrender, but this was different from what Peter had experienced—he clearly felt that not so much had actually happened.

So, there's a problem here.

"You mean... someone is manipulating the data to make New York look like a crime haven?"

Peter realized that Nick Fury was about to say something, and he wanted to hear what the master spy had to say.

"That's something you need to figure out. S.H.I.E.L.D. has a lot to manage and doesn't have time to spend too much time in New York."

"Can't you find another Avenger?" Peter sighed helplessly. "I've already... I can't even remember how much happened in September alone. Can't I just rest for a few days?"

Nick Fury nodded and shrugged.

“Nobody forced you to do this, Spider-Man. I just gave you the stuff. As for what you think about it, that’s up to you. Anyway, you know the Avengers aren’t going to send you out of New York on a mission.”

Peter sighed helplessly and accepted the batch of documents.

NYPD (New York Police Department)

Matt Murdoch, Wilson Fisk's lawyer, came to meet him, much to Matt's surprise that Kingpin had chosen him as his lawyer. He entered the detention cell, listened as the officers who were supposed to be standing by silently left, adjusted his sunglasses, and "looked" at Kingpin.

"What are you thinking, demon?"

"I was wondering if you were waiting for me to celebrate your victory, Fisk."

“This is hardly a victory. If your spider friends hadn’t been so persistent, I might still be at my company. But… you’re right.” Kingpin couldn’t help but laugh: “This is indeed a victory.”

Matt laughed too.

"You won't get out so easily."

“Why should I rush out? My men are tightening their defenses, my forces are withdrawing, and then you will understand.” Kingpin smiled and shook his head: “Who is really protecting this city, and who is preventing the chaos from spreading?”

"What's truly terrifying isn't a powerful... well-defined target, a demon. What's truly terrifying is unbridled chaos, a chaos that even the Avengers can't handle."

"And because I can no longer suppress them, they are coming."
