Being a knight is not easy
Chapter 351 Safe House
Chapter 351 Safe House
When Robin arrived at Silva's residence, he saw that familiar door was tightly shut. He took a deep breath, stepped forward, and gently knocked on the door.
After a while, footsteps came from inside the door, and then the door slowly opened. Silva appeared in the doorway, and when he saw Robin, a look of surprise appeared on his face, followed by a smile.
"Roland, it's been a long time," Silva said warmly.
“Yes, it’s been a long time, Silva,” Robin replied.
Silva stepped aside to let Robin into the house. The interior was still the same as before, simple and tidy.
The two sat in chairs in the living room, and for a moment they fell silent.
Clearly, Robin's sudden visit made Silva very nervous, as he thought their safe house had been exposed.
At the same time, they were also wondering how Robin was able to find them.
Robin broke the silence first: "I came here for two reasons: first, to see you, and second, to say goodbye before I go to Middle-earth. As for this place, it's time to move around; people have already noticed it."
Silva immediately understood that Robin had come to deliver a message, but then frowned: "Middle-earth? That's a dangerous place. Why do you want to go there?"
Robin then briefly explained his plan to Silva, whose expression turned serious upon hearing it: "Roland, you're taking a risk. The nobles of Middle-earth are not easy to deal with; they are more sensitive than you think."
Robin nodded: "I know the dangers involved, but for the future of the West, I must try."
After a moment of contemplation, Silva said, "Since you've made your decision, I won't say anything more. But you must be careful, and when you need help, don't forget that you still have me as a friend."
Robin felt a warmth in her heart: "Thank you, Silva. Your words touched me deeply."
No sooner had Robin left than Silva immediately led his men to relocate, even leaving Minerva City and heading directly to the emerging border city of Wilkeburg.
Silva's actions were swift and decisive; being inside the enemy's stronghold, any slight movement could pose a danger.
His eyes were filled with caution as he directed his men to pack up while vigilantly observing the surroundings.
Silva would never have guessed that Robin's base of operations was in Wilkesburg.
His thinking was simple: if they were really exposed, the five legendary knights working together should be able to easily break out of Wilkeburg.
Wilkesburg is close to the border, and at their speed, they could escape back to the Central Plains in less than three days.
In his view, as long as he can temporarily avoid potential threats, going anywhere is safer than staying in one place.
"Boss, you trust that Roland that much?" Rick asked, dissatisfied.
Rex stood to the side, frowning, his face showing a hint of doubt and resentment.
He crossed his arms and watched Silva's busy figure, feeling that his boss's decision was a bit too hasty.
They had worked so hard here for so long, and he was unwilling to give up just because of one sentence from Robin.
"Then do you think we can trust you? Or should I leave you here to see how things go?" Silva said irritably. His voice carried a hint of annoyance; he had no time to argue with Rick about this.
In his experience, caution is always the right thing to do, and Rex's questioning only made him more upset.
Ellie quickly stepped in to smooth things over: "It's better to believe something is true than not to believe it is not."
Ellie's voice was soft and gentle as she tried to ease the tension. She knew Silva had made this decision for everyone's safety, and Rick's questions weren't entirely unfounded. She stood between the two, her eyes scanning them back and forth, hoping to calm them both down.
Silva nodded slightly after hearing Ellie's words, his emotions calming down a bit. He looked at Rick, his tone becoming slightly more even: "Rick, I know you might think I'm being a little too dramatic. But in this world, we can't easily trust anyone. Robin has a history with us, but he's going to Middle-earth now, and who knows what might happen. We should be careful."
After hearing Silva's explanation, Rex, though still somewhat unconvinced, said nothing more.
Silva's decision was irreversible, and he understood that his boss was doing this for everyone's benefit.
So Silva and his men embarked on their journey to Wilkeburg.
They rode their horses at breakneck speed along the dusty road, the city of Minerva gradually blurring behind them.
Less than an hour after they left, the Marquis Sonata's family knights led a large force to surround Silva's former safe house.
The sound of horses' hooves thundered, and a large contingent quickly surrounded the safe house.
The sunlight was blocked by the swirling dust, and a tense and oppressive atmosphere permeated the entire safe house.
Looking at the clean and tidy safe house, Elant realized that they had escaped.
He stood at the door of the safe house, his brow furrowed, his eyes flashing with frustration.
He originally thought the operation would be foolproof and that he could easily capture Silva and his men.
But today, a strange man in black robes suddenly appeared, and he immediately realized something was wrong.
"Damn it, I'm too late!" Ilant angrily slammed his fist on the door frame.
His voice echoed in the silent safe house, filled with resentment.
Once Silva and his companions escape, finding them again will be extremely difficult.
This not only means the failure of this operation, but may also bring some unexpected trouble to the Marquis of Sonata.
The knights around stood silently, not daring to utter a sound.
They knew Elantra was in a bad mood, and no one wanted to cause trouble at this time.
One of the knights asked cautiously, "Lord Ilant, what should we do now? Should we continue the investigation or go back to report to the Marquis?"
Ilant took a deep breath, trying to calm himself down. After a moment's thought, he said, "Send men to search the area first and see if we can find any trace of them. The rest of you come with me back to report to the Marquis."
So, some of the knights dispersed and searched the surrounding area carefully, while Ilante led the rest of the group away from the safe house dejectedly.
The sound of their horses' hooves gradually faded into the distance, leaving only the empty safe house, as if telling the story of the thrilling scene that had just unfolded.
On the way back, Elantra's mood remained heavy.
The Marquis of Sonata had high hopes for this operation, and his own mistake could very well affect his standing in the Marquis's eyes.
He secretly resolved to find a way to make up for this mistake and find Silva and the others again.
