Chapter 485 Life, Death, and Reincarnation

Chapter 485 Life, Death, and Reincarnation

When Luger returned to his tall mount, the old demon was still immersed in joy, and there seemed to be a great deal of surprise in it. After the joy subsided, the old demon hung the blood-red bone tablet on his body, and threw the other two rotten bone tablets to Luger and the two-headed demon.

Luger silently took it and hung it on the tattered leather belt wrapped around his waist.

He glanced sideways at the two-headed demon. The hole in its chest had begun to heal, but the missing heart made it very weak. It was only putting on a fierce act now, as it dared not show its weakness in front of the demons. Perhaps when it was lying on the ground rolling and fighting, it was just to cover up its inability to get up for the time being.

Ruger estimates that this guy might not be a match for Mahama now.

Two blood crystals, slightly larger than a fist, fell from the sky and were thrown at the two-headed demon who was trying to remain calm.

The old demon, sitting on the shoulder of his mount, strangely took a liking to something benevolent.

The two-headed demon's eyes lit up immediately. It took the blood crystal and stuffed it into its mouth. One head crushed the blood crystal, while the other head surprisingly swallowed it whole without even crushing it. Just as it swallowed, it seemed to remember something and quietly turned its head to look at Luger beside it.

Ruger noticed its gaze but ignored it, instead watching the battle below while looking at his own hands.

It was the pattern similar to the lines on his chest that spread to his hands, which made it so easy for him to use malice on his hands. So, strictly speaking, using his hands wrapped in the stench of malice to punch and pierce through enemies can also be considered the ability of the Miserly Demon. It is a change derived from the combination of the zero-ring solidification spell Foul Skin and the first-ring solidification spell Miserly Fall Magic.

So, is this an algorithmic sequence?
Obviously not, it's just a simple combination of two spells.

The battle that followed also piqued his interest.

Demons are not just gambling on something; their instinctive craving for blood and destruction also drives them to fight and kill. Even these slightly intelligent demons only add some pretexts and loose rules to this instinct that comes from the depths of their souls.

Therefore, the shouts and curses in the language of the abyss will never cease, and the ground at the bottom of the pit, stained with blood and scorched by flames countless times, will never lack the figures of fighting.

Ruger looked at the screaming demons, those guys with bloodshot eyes that looked like they were about to bleed.

They enjoy watching powerful demons easily tear apart the weaker ones at the bottom of the pit, as well as seeing fierce, spell-like abilities blast another demon to pieces. They also enjoy watching two evenly matched demons fight to the last moment, leaving them battered and bruised. In short, there is nothing they don't like to see, as long as it involves blood and fire, as long as a melody of destruction is unfolding there.

Ruger remembered that the old dog-headed Lunther had said that some powerful demon lords simply loved destruction and went on wars year after year. This was contrary to the wizards' ideals. Apart from a few wizards who were twisted for special reasons, normal wizards would not bully the weak because they had no value.

As Luger was thinking, a crisp sound came from below, signaling the end of another battle at the bottom of the pit.

The spray of blood made the demons shout with excitement.

This reminded Luger of Star City, or the arena that many underground cities have. This huge pit is the center of that arena, where people would scream because of the blood or the excitement of battle, just like the demons now, only the demons are more frenzied. But there is actually a huge difference between humans and demons, that is, these demons will actually go down and embrace the blood and fire, to destroy or be destroyed, to participate in the process, to become part of the destruction.

Ruger looked up and glanced at the old demon.

Aside from the two blood crystals thrown to the two-headed demon, most of the blood crystals I won were still left, along with some smaller blood crystals that were originally in the bag.

They're all in the old devil's hands now.

Suddenly, a patting sound came from beside him. Luger turned his head and saw the old demon patting the big head of his mount.

With his pat, the mount turned a corner.

Ruger and the two-headed demon naturally followed. As they walked, they could still hear the sounds of fighting at the bottom of the pit. Halfway there, Ruger realized their destination: the cave they were heading towards was one of the more spacious ones among the many caves around the pit, the place where the pig-headed demon had rested.

The old demon sat on Mahama's shoulder, exuding an imposing aura. With the blood-red sign in his possession, demons who saw him would give way, and those who had witnessed the start of Luger's battle would cast a look of awe upon him.

Ruger noticed that even though he was holding a slowly beating demon heart, these guys were still looking at the old demon with more awe, which made the old demon even more imposing.

The group of four demons soon arrived at the stinking hole.

"You all rest here, don't disturb me, and don't wander off unless necessary."

The old demon patted his mount and jumped off Mahama's shoulder.

Ruger and the two-headed demon both looked at him. He jumped off his shoulder, straightened his bulky clothes, and walked directly to the innermost part of the cave, where he sat down.

Mahama also sat down, and the three demons sat near the cave entrance.

Soon, the sound of gnawing on the blood crystals came from inside the cave.

That old guy is consuming blood crystals.

Ruger withdrew his gaze and looked at the most human-like mount in history, the Wizard Mahama.

Although silent, the teasing look in his eyes still made Mahama roll his eyes involuntarily.

Since arriving here, Mahama has been extremely cautious.

Ruger could understand his thoughts. Take the two-headed creature next to him, for example. It was a demon that looked unremarkable except for its two heads, but in some aspects, it had already barely reached the standard of a first-ring wizard. This kind of incomplete achievement in a single aspect might only pose a threat to a real first-ring wizard when it came to sneak attacks, but it was quite terrifying to a wizard apprentice. Moreover, there were quite a few demons here that were stronger than the two-headed demon.

In this dangerous environment surrounded by demons.

This subtle sense of disguise blending in actually gave Ruger a hidden excitement.

He sat down against the cave wall and tapped his forehead with one finger.

Perhaps his long-standing state of being obsessed with miserliness has affected him to some extent.

The cheers outside continued.

Even after consuming the blood crystal, the two-headed demon lay there listlessly, its chest wound still struggling to heal.

Ruge deliberately teased Mahama by directly offering the heart in his hand to her mouth.

Like a responsible, good demon who cares about his mount and is feeding it.

Mahama seemed genuinely hungry, holding the heart in his hands and tearing it apart to eat. Inside the original owner's cave, he was enjoying the other's heart, like a wondrous handover ceremony, like the birth and death of a demon in this abyss.
