Kobold Wizard's Journal
Chapter 477 Love and Dislike
Chapter 477 Love and Dislike
Watching the rabbit Tuzel pace back and forth, muttering to itself and scratching its ears in a somewhat confused manner, Ruger could better understand the creature's shift in mindset. It seemed to involve factors beyond its own: cowardice, the stifling feeling of being alone, memories of the past, its special identity, the long years of lonely waiting, and so on—a jumble of factors that made the rabbit habitually mutter to itself, as if lost in chaos.
He asked the rabbit for its opinion because he thought that the guy could be a little timid at times. Besides, it would be a good thing to go back and cultivate those crops for a while, so that he could bring more delicious local specialties when he came back next time.
Thinking about this, there was actually something Ruger had always wanted to ask Tuzel.
He had thought about this when Tuzel saw how thin and small he had become and invited him to the rabbit hut, but he had never said anything about it.
"My long-eared friend, please don't get excited. I just thought that maybe your wonderful things at home need watering, so I took this opportunity to let you go back and take care of them. You know we are friends, and I always welcome you. Of course, you can choose to stay here, and those guys will definitely be happy. Rabbit Tuzel is the most popular friend."
Ruger rambled on, trying to match the frequency of the rabbit's incessant chatter, but what he said was actually the truth, and this was just the first step in calming it down.
The best way to change someone's mood during a conversation is to interrupt them and immediately jump to another topic.
"I have a problem, my friend, and I need you to help me resolve the doubts in my heart..."
Ruger spoke, deliberately lowering his voice.
Sure enough, the rabbit came over.
Luger smiled.
“My friend, I’ve always wanted to ask you this: now that you can open the door to the Rabbit House at will, could you let me, just like during my wizard apprenticeship, enter that place again… like an endless corridor with many paintings…” Ruger described, but there was no need to elaborate; everyone understood his meaning.
“The power there is already very weak. It’s unknown whether it can be reopened next time, and we don’t know when it will be,” the rabbit said calmly and seriously. “So that’s my home now. Even if I invite you to visit, you will only stay in the room of the rabbit hut. You can no longer go to that corridor. Only I, Tuzel the rabbit, can go in. Even the well water cannot be taken out. It can only be used to grow some things.”
Ruger raised an eyebrow, not at all surprised.
Although the rabbit's situation is now very special, before that space was opened, only the rabbit could live there, and only Tuzel could enter the hut. Moreover, the space was indeed weakening. After all, its existence was originally intended to eliminate and suppress a small spiritual passage, to create a well for young people to practice and ask questions, to create a rabbit hut, and to bring the rabbit back to life. These were all incidental, a multi-purpose arrangement by the old wizard.
So, my friend, are you going to stay?
Luger lay relaxed on the deck chair, while in the distance, several people were having a great time catching fish in the darkness and carrying them into the space.
The rabbit, now calmer, seemed somewhat hesitant.
“I’ve said it before, stop trying to catch this guy. You need to look at things from a spiritual perspective, especially food. When you’ve been trapped in one place for thousands of years, you’ll know that the pursuit of food is multi-dimensional, sublime, and may even be the only pleasure!”
The rabbit shouted and cursed as it walked toward the three guys who were busy working.
Ruger pursed his lips and chose to take a break from his busy schedule to close his eyes and rest.
This is a pleasant experience that we may not have again for some time.
The endless sea surges in the darkness, like an ancient elder, washing over the islands that stand here, witnessing generation after generation of people exploring and struggling for survival here.
Splash! It's as if the sea is laughing.
With his eyes closed, Ruger listened to the sound of the waves crashing in the distance and inexplicably thought of the story of searching for the edge of the endless sea.
That was a story Leiden and Vito told him.
I wonder how those two are doing now, and whether they've found their way to becoming wizards.
Every wizard is, in fact, an explorer of the Endless Sea, even if he has never been to the Endless Sea, he is no different from the brave and persistent explorer in the story.
Three days passed in the blink of an eye. Gillian and Valin remained silent, still busy receiving the enormous changes that had taken place on their paths.
Ruger stood with his hands on his hips, looking at the bedroom space with satisfaction.
In the days that followed, he took the opportunity to collect a large amount of soil and rocks, as well as various trees. The big rat's eyes were already shining with anticipation as he came up with a preliminary plan. The rabbit, on the other hand, was quite puzzled by this. To build a hotel in a closed space was simply a pointless and foolish act. At most, the customers would be just a few of them. But the rat's enthusiasm still infected the talkative rabbit.
"If you ask me, it should just focus on being a cook. It will be a good cook, and it is a good cook right now..."
Tuzel walked past Ruger, grumbling to himself.
But the rabbit still picked up his tools and went back to his original spot to help the earnest mouse carve patterns on the wooden door. In his words, he was an artistic rabbit who had seen a lot and was not an ignorant fellow who was just bragging.
Ruger watched their busy figures, then turned and left the bedroom.
When he walked into the courtyard, Mahama was already waiting there.
Besides the large figure, there was a silver carriage and a black horse-shaped magical creature that was impatiently glancing at him.
"Thank you, great wizard Zorn."
Ruger said instinctively.
"Yes, sir is very thoughtful. He knows we don't have any flying magical pets, and it will be at least several dozen days before our merchant ships arrive again..."
Mahama naturally took over the conversation and expressed his sincere gratitude.
The slightly violent demonic aura emanating from the front of the carriage began to subside somewhat.
The two dared not waste any more words and immediately boarded the carriage.
Before Luger could even close the carriage door, the carriage had already taken off and was speeding through the air at a faster pace than ever before.
Ruger and Mahama exchanged a glance and then moved on to the next topic.
When the two had free time these past few days, they would sit down together to discuss things, such as the abyss anchor point that Mahama obtained from his teacher. That layer was a chaotic realm, which was just right for Mahama and would make it easier for him to achieve what he wanted in his sublimation ritual.
Of course, the plan has now changed, which means it's easier to take advantage of the situation.
The carriage quickly brought Ruger and Mahama to the nearest island with a teleportation array, the same place where they had first met the wizard Zorn.
A silvery line stretched straight towards the location of the teleportation array on the mountain.
Standing by the round window, Luger watched the rapidly approaching mountain peak, a flicker of excitement crossing his mind. In several battles, he had sensed that the Demon of Miserliness was still undergoing subtle changes. He had long considered finding an opportunity and some free time to try living in the abyss for a while, but he hadn't decided on the specifics yet, as he still had many things to do and hadn't learned any spells.
But Mahama’s request unexpectedly settled this long-awaited trip, which had been postponed indefinitely. He sighed inwardly at the time and decided to go with the flow.
The two had just pushed open the door and jumped off the carriage when, before they could even stand up, the carriage once again transformed into a silver streak in the sky.
“It seems it really hates us,” Mahama said softly.
Ruger looked up and nodded.
Behind them was the rather old-fashioned teleportation array.
