Kobold Wizard's Journal

Chapter 476 Reliance and Differences

Chapter 476 Reliance and Differences

The wizard Zorn scratched his chest hair and looked up at the two people in front of him with some surprise.

Mahama was also looking at the furry creature beside him with a strange expression. They had come to apply to the wizard Zorn, but things seemed to be getting weirder and weirder.

As apprentice witch hunters, they cannot move freely; this is a strict restriction, but it also serves as a form of protection.

"Abyss exploration? Is it an attempt to help you complete your ascension ritual?"

Zorn the wizard quickly realized that the so-called exploration of the abyss was just a facade, and many witch hunter wizards had done the same thing.

When faced with the need to venture into the abyss for some reason, some witch hunters would recall the exploration quests that were permanently posted in the Holy Tribunal for witch hunters. It was said that these quests had been posted for over a thousand years, and the requirements were quite lenient, not necessarily demanding that anything be discovered.

Zorn's gaze was somewhat surprised, which made Mahama's gaze even more peculiar.

After leaving the tavern, Mahama began to change along the way. Although he had asked for something and paid a reward in addition to friendship, things gradually turned sour, as if Ruger was the one going to the abyss, and he, the big guy, had become the companion.

Mahama's gaze seemed to suggest that he was afraid Ruge would forget about his ascension ceremony.

Luger turned his dog head and looked at the two of them.

"Lord Zorn, please rest assured, I will protect Mahama. This guy won't die easily."

Ruger was quite optimistic about Mahama's resilience, and besides, this big guy might have some good stuff from his teacher in his pocket.

Zorn's lips twitched slightly as he looked at the two of them with a smile.

"Did you bring the specially made return stone?" he asked softly.

Upon hearing this, Mahama immediately nodded and took out the item to show it to everyone.

Seeing this, Ruger also took out his own piece, which was part of the payment.

"My advice is, don't rely on this too much."

Seeing the change in their expressions, Zorn took out a bottle of wine and took a big gulp.

"Good luck to you, young people."

After saying this, the wizard Zorn ignored the two of them.

After bowing respectfully, Luger and his companion turned and left. Before setting off, they naturally made their own preparations, so they set the departure time for three days later.

Ruger hummed a song as he walked down the street.

The most basic supplies also need to be purchased, such as various food ingredients. After the last incident, Luger paid more attention to these things. Then there were other things that he could think of or couldn't think of for the time being, and even some leather and coarse cloth. At the same time, Luger thanked young master Lorigo in his heart again. Even now, he is still using the Sun Coins that Lorigo gave him.

Ruger made purchases along the way, and there would be some other supplies that he would need to prepare himself.

The atmosphere on the streets was oppressive yet contained a hint of vitality, but it was difficult to return to what it used to be.

Even for the excellent and dedicated Lord Kurt, the aftermath of the high-level wizard incident was as overwhelming as a force of nature. Moreover, Kurt and his island were simply too small and too weak.

At the same time, Ruger could also detect some changes in the procurement process, such as the price of some items changing, mostly with prices increasing.

Unrest has broken out in three adjacent sea areas, and many people prefer to hold onto tangible resources. The turmoil and loss of light will also lead to reduced production of various goods. It's likely that war will erupt in the territories vacated by the two high-ranking wizards, a struggle for light and faith. Everything seems like a play, yet incredibly cruel. Merchant fleets will also bring this price surge to the various islands, creating an even longer emotional ladder. Many islanders will live in fear in the days to come. However, a slight price increase is nothing to Ruger; every shop owner is grateful for his patronage.

Moreover, on a darkened island, as long as one wears a veil, one is less likely to be mistaken for a divine being.

You can enjoy the process of purchasing supplies with greater peace of mind.

I spent half a day wandering around.

While he was out shopping, Aiskin and Da Shaheng busied themselves in the bedroom, sorting things out by category.

Everyone seemed to be enjoying their busy schedule.

On a beach far from the island's harbor, Ruger took out an old deck chair and lay down leisurely on it.

Aiskin and Big Fool started fishing in the water, and the rats also participated, but most of the time they just helped carry the fish. The portal stood openly to the side, with several furry creatures going in and out.

Ruger waved his hand, calling over Tuzel, the guy who was only shirking his duties.

“Oh my dear friend, are you calling me? Then you’d better get to the point. They still need me. Without my guidance and direction, they’ll just be a mess. Even those shelves aren’t being used perfectly. I really can’t imagine how you all put up with it. Of course, I admit they are quite strong, especially the beautiful Ms. Aiskin and the composed Mr. Humphrey…”

Tuzel moved his rabbit mouth as he approached.

"The composed Mr. Big Fool? That's far too composed," Luger thought.

“My friend, I have to tell you something. You may have to go back to your rabbit hutch to take care of those spiritual plants,” Ruger said with a slightly regretful expression. “In a couple of days I’m going to a very far place, which may be a bit dangerous, and it’s another space where I’m worried you may not be able to return to your hutch at will.”

The boastful rabbit choked on the first part of Luger's words, as if a pair of hands were strangling him.

As Luger continued speaking, the rabbit's big eyes began to dart around again.

"That old guy was pretty good to me. The gap he left me is more sturdy than you think. And don't underestimate me. I, Tuzel, can open my rabbit house in most places as easily as picking up a small piece of meat made from Aiskin. Once I'm completely free of my restraints, that's my home. That little house, that woodland outside, that space—all of that old guy left it for me. I have even more control over it now! So, don't underestimate me. So, my friend, where are you going?"

The rabbit stared at Luger with wide, curious eyes.

Ruger was a little confused, and for a moment he didn't know what Tuzel was thinking.

“The abyss,” Ruger uttered softly.

Furthermore, he believed that the rabbit knew what it was.

The rabbit was indeed taken aback for a moment.

“My friend, the Abyss, the Abyss?” Tuzel scratched his long ears, seemingly puzzled. “Why would you go to such a smelly and dangerous place?”

Luger smiled and was about to speak.

“Oh damn it! I forgot again, I always forget that you're a nasty wizard too. Wizards are all like that, always... That old guy was one, and he told me he'd come back, and I knew it... Sometimes I think wizards are rabbits, or some other big-headed fat fish, they look completely different, yet they seem like the same species…”

Tuzel, clutching his long ears, paced back and forth beside Ruger's old recliner, his rabbit mouth constantly moving.
