Kobold Wizard's Journal
Chapter 322 God's Gift and the Devil
Chapter 322 God's Gift and the Devil
For countless years, a vast number of religious wizards have been exploring their own paths in this endless sea, among these numerous islands.
Among them are many geniuses and many mediocre people, gentle people and brutal and ruthless people, all kinds of successful people and all kinds of failures.
In Ruger's view, this chaotic and complex environment may have inadvertently provided fertile ground for demons to grow. Just as a sorcerer can do his own thing on an island in the name of God, a demon can do the same, such as disguising himself as a so-called god to bewitch people. Perhaps there are clever demons who, in the eyes of ordinary people, are more convincing than those sorcerers.
At the same time, there is competition among wizards, and there are definitely many wizards who do some underhanded things in secret. This is also a wonderful thing for demons. Chaos and conspiracy are born together and accompany each other. They are the demons' favorites and will naturally become their camouflage, making it easier for them to reach out from the other world.
Ruger pursed his lips, beginning to accept the fact that this was not the Black Valley Domain.
He never expected to arrive at this place so quickly via a teleportation array; it was the atmosphere and uniqueness of the Black Valley Domain that had bewildered him.
Ruger suddenly paused for a moment.
Since this so-called assessment is not in the Black Valley Region, why was he sent there in the first place?
The only explanation is that the teacher genuinely wanted to meet him in that Black Valley region.
But for some reason, he was unable to come, and while waiting, he held this token and participated in the Demon Hunter Wizard assessment.
"You...you are not a messenger of God?"
As the effects of the mental euphoria seemed to be nearing their end, the burly man, exhausted from kneeling on the ground, finally noticed that the strange-looking messenger in front of him was wearing his sweat-soaked clothes, which made him realize that something was amiss.
"Then tell me, what am I?"
Ruger kept his expression unchanged, looked down at him, and said softly.
The man paused for a moment, as if his earlier reaction was merely a fleeting thought, and only now did he begin to think critically.
"You, you are one of those blessed by the gods? I once met a mercenary captain with a nobleman from the inner city. He was very imposing. He fought for the gods, commanded more than a dozen large ships, and had been blessed... Yes, that's what he looked like, very imposing. It is said that the people in his mercenary group also looked imposing, all of them had been blessed, and their fleet was invincible..."
The man spoke in a trembling voice, a mixture of excitement and fear.
Ruger smiled and nodded.
What they call looking very imposing probably means they don't look human.
The islands of the Endless Sea are numerous and varied in size and shape. Some are large enough to house dozens of kingdoms, while others are so small that one can see their entire length from a high vantage point.
Ruge guessed that the so-called battles for the gods were not fought by any big shots, but probably just skirmishes between some small islands.
The so-called blessing from God is probably something like bloodline modification or extraordinary potions, and it's not very high-level.
Luger smiled slightly and decided to test the waters again.
“What if I am neither a messenger nor a warrior for the gods?” Ruge asked with a smile, looking down at him.
"Then you must be a devout person. Devout people will receive blessings from God. Actually, I am very devout, and one day I will also receive blessings that will make me stronger..."
The man seemed to be getting a little dizzy as he spoke.
Luger smiled and strode away into the distance, the man's voice still fading behind him.
I heard a little bit of news.
He naturally wanted to continue into the city to learn more.
Given this situation, will the so-called test be about catching a demon?
Ruger thought of his Abyss Bedroom space. If he just wanted a demon, he could even risk going through the rift that had always existed in the space to catch one in the abyss. He might encounter a relatively weak one by the roadside, or he might encounter a relatively strong one. It all depended on luck, since he didn't know enough about the area on the other side of the rift.
Will there be a time limit for this so-called assessment?
Ruger walked slowly.
He doesn't think it will be very urgent, but it should be, since it's impossible for someone to stay here forever.
Now we can only rely on our intuition and try to do it in order to reach that unknown standard of qualification, which is the answer.
Ruger put his face covering back on and pulled up the hood behind him.
The slightly awkward thing is that the original owner of the clothes didn't have a head as big as him, so the hat was pressing down on his ears.
There are still many unknowns, such as whether this exam paper belongs to only him or whether it is being competed for by multiple people. Both are possible, after all, there are many islands in this area, and those large islands are not short of exam venues.
Ruger hummed a song, feeling very happy.
He still really liked places with slightly bright sunlight, even if it was artificial light; walking in the sunlight was a very nice feeling.
Of course, the light on the island wasn't very strong, about the same as the Blood Sun in the City of Burning Blood. Luger's sighs were more about the oppressive atmosphere brought about by the long period of darkness in the Black Valley Region.
Ruger returned to the town once more.
The scene of people kneeling down is no longer there; instead, a few scattered people are walking in and out of the city.
Luger staggered into the city and successfully made his way in.
His first impression was of the dirt and disorder on the street, but he didn't care about that.
Now that he'd arrived in a new place, he naturally wanted to sample the local wines.
Regarding this kind of open-ended assessment, he believes that the first step is to integrate, and a pub is a good angle for integration.
The dim light and the stench hit him as soon as he pushed open the tavern door.
Luger walked into the fairly spacious tavern with a smile. It was a place he had walked more than a dozen streets to find after entering the city. Although it looked terrible, this was just the beginning. He was going to drink his way from the cheapest tavern to the most expensive one.
Ruger found a dimly lit corner and sat quietly for a while before a plump girl came over with a plate. The two glasses of wine that were originally on the empty plate had been placed on the next table.
"What would you like to drink, sir? Oh, I recommend pine worm wine. Those adorable little guys are at their fattest this season, their butts are always busy, so you can drink as much pine worm wine as you like, unlimited supply..."
The chubby girl looked to be around twenty years old and seemed very talkative.
Ruger raised an eyebrow. This guy was giving such a detailed introduction; he must be treating him like an outsider.
"This one will do, and the meat pie on the next table looks good too. I'll have two."
Ruger said casually.
"It's made with pine worm meat. After they squeeze out that sweet and sour stuff, some of them don't have the strength to fly away, so the cake is sweet and sour too..."
The chubby girl casually remarked, then wrote it down and walked away with the plate tucked under her arm.
