Kobold Wizard's Journal

Chapter 321 Demons and Gods

Chapter 321 Demons and Gods

An unfamiliar environment, customs that are incomprehensible.

Since there is no one to stand up and loudly read out the exam questions as imagined, it can only be assumed that the exam began the moment the transmission was completed, and his exam paper was already unfolded in front of him. As for the exam questions, he needs to understand and comprehend them on his own.

Ruger straightened his slightly sweaty clothes and glanced at the small, round black ornament in his hand that looked like a devil's horns coiled together.

The fact that the assessment for an apprentice witch hunter turned out like this is somewhat beyond my expectations. I wonder what the assessments are like for other wizarding factions.

However, this was much more interesting than he had imagined, where everyone would stand in a row and each try out their favorite spells as an assessment.

He looked at the thing in his hand. He had to thank this little thing for being able to participate in this kind of thing. This recommendation qualification was obtained by chance, although it might not have been a coincidence.

So it was this little trinket that gave him his identity.

I wonder if other wizarding organizations are the same.

Ruger subconsciously recalled the wizarding forces he had come into contact with or heard about, as well as the so-called powerful forces at the Pillar level.

Of the non-pillar organizations, the one he was most interested in was the so-called Furry Lovers Association. He thought it would be a very interesting place, and wizards gathered together for such bizarre reasons might have some unique spiritual encounters. For example, a formal wizard might get along very well with a wizard apprentice because of this shared hobby and viewpoint. As for the behemoths at the pillar level, he was actually most interested in the Alien Dragon Management Council. The more interesting alien dragons he knew, the more curious he would be about that place. Members of the Management Council should get good discounts when applying for experimental materials.

After all, he was just a junior wizard apprentice who happened to help send back a strange dragon, and he still got a certain discount.

Moreover, both of these organizations, one large and one small, could potentially offer some assistance regarding his bloodline issue.

However, none of them were places he could easily join, or rather, he had no way of finding them. He didn't even know how to find the Furry Lovers Association, and the Alien Dragon Management Association only had one interaction with him, which wasn't really a direct connection. He helped find an alien dragon and received a lifetime discount as a reward, but it sounded more like they were trying to drum up business for him.

He weighed the things in his hands; the Holy Tribunal was not bad either.

This was his first real encounter with a wizarding organization of this level. Whether he could get to know them better depended on the outcome of this somewhat inexplicable assessment.

He knew that he was actually just comforting himself with jokes.

When he doesn't have the opportunity to join these wizarding organizations, he can't change the fact that he will inevitably face the disadvantages of joining. When he can't change the fact, he has to adjust his mindset, otherwise he will get hungry quickly. When he has the opportunity to join, he will think about the good side of things and sometimes he will subconsciously ignore some of the disadvantages.

For example, the witch hunter.

Take this assessment as an example. Does such an assessment include a quota for those who fail to qualify?
Ruger believes that there may be, or if there isn’t, then there must be no concept of a death quota. If someone dies, they just die, and they won’t even be called a dead person, but rather a failure in the assessment.

After all, a wizard isn't an old woman looking after children.

Becoming a formal Witcher is also a profession that inevitably involves danger. Compared to the Seekers of the Temple of Knowledge, it may seem to be more relaxed and free, but it is also relatively more dangerous.

Luger looked at the burly man lying on the ground, thought for a moment, and then tore off the mask he had painstakingly put on his face.

Then he raised his hand and cast a zero-ring spell, his spirit boiling.

The burly man shuddered and slowly woke up, his eyes still showing a hint of excitement, whether from the state he had been in before he fainted or from the effects of his heightened spirit.

Before Luger could even get a good look around, he leaned down and pressed his large dog face against him.

"what!"

The burly man crawled backward using both his hands and feet.

The first thing I saw when I woke up was a strange, large dog face suddenly looming close to me, which was quite frightening.

"Envoy? Envoy, Your Excellency?"

The burly man climbed a little further away, creating some distance, and then stopped, looking as if he had just realized something.

"Are you the envoy?"

The burly man, lying on the ground, turned around and said.

He didn't seem to notice that his coat had been ripped off and was now being worn by the strange-faced guy in front of him.

Ruger straightened up and smiled at him, saying nothing, just watching quietly. The burly man seemed to be infected by the smile on the dog's face, and he actually cried with emotion.

Ruger blinked, patiently listening to the burly man's tearful rambling, but he still couldn't get any useful information out of him.

“I said I disagreed… but he said I was being disrespectful to God, that they were the real blasphemers! Despicable blasphemers! Shameless, shameless! Only I am the most devout… I have heard the voice of God…”

The man's eyes lit up as he spoke, and he mustered his courage to look up at Luger.

Ruger smiled and did not interrupt the man.

The surge of emotion seems to have an unexpected effect on these ordinary people. The mental saturation seems to slightly affect their mental state. It may not be a negative effect, but it can make those who already want to confide even more eager to do so, and those who are already excited even more excited. Just like this strong man in front of us, he probably wouldn't have cried so bitterly under normal circumstances.

This wasn't an effect of the spell itself, but rather an effect caused by their boiling spirits, which were too weak.

“That old man, he’s the least devout of them all. He’s secretly praying to other gods in the basement…”

The burly man seemed to be denouncing his employer, as if most of his suffering and troubles stemmed from the man who had fallen off the carriage.

Moreover, Ruger could already imagine that when this guy got back, he would definitely be scolded for his employer falling off the carriage.

Ruger scratched his chin.

These words about gods and piety, along with the sound of waves he heard at a certain moment through the teleportation array, reminded him of a place, a magical land he had only heard of before.

Endless sea.

A sacred place for believers and practitioners of the path of sorcerer.

It's also the only place where the Supreme Council allows them to mess around.

Ruger recalled the glowing, pillar-like mountain he had seen before, his mouth slightly agape, but he closed it tightly to maintain his composure.

If it's an endless sea, then this should be an island.

Of course, whether it's the Endless Sea or the small island, these are all terms that apply to wizards. Ordinary people may never know these things in their entire lives, let alone understand these names, and may have only ever been to a few towns near their homes.

Perhaps the rulers of each island know a little more.

However, this is not something Luger should care about. He did not come here alone, nor does he need to care about things far away. The so-called test cannot possibly make him explore the Endless Sea.

So let's focus on the present.

Ruger stroked his chin, listening to the man's incoherent ramblings, and began to ponder.

What he held in his hand was for the examination of the Holy Tribunal's Demon Hunter Wizard, not some alien god oversight council.

So, from another perspective, if the so-called demons are always lurking in the shadows, watching over the underground world, what do the two have in common?

Demons and gods?
This area is considered to be the territory of those who believe in witchcraft.

The so-called gods here are basically equivalent to wizards, or even wizard apprentices. After all, it's said that those who try to walk this path must begin preparing from the wizard apprentice stage. And the stronger ones, even if they are gods on the surface, still have a wizard master to whom they belong.

The countless islands scattered throughout this area can be considered the soil that nourishes them.

Moreover, it is a perfectly suited and ideal soil.

So, what do gloomy demons and faith-based wizards have in common?

Ruger scratched his chin.

In his eyes as an observer, or rather, an outsider, they were all deceiving people, that is, bewitching people's hearts.

Perhaps he didn't know enough about religious sorcerers, which led to some prejudice, he thought.
