Kobold Wizard's Journal
Chapter 311 Ego and Id
Chapter 311 Ego and Id
A powerful wizard?
Ruger walked unsteadily, glancing at the petite figure beside him, then at the gray-skirted girl behind him whose embarrassment and fear couldn't mask her stubbornness.
Wizards are capable of anything to reach higher places, or rather, to achieve their goals.
Ruger shook his furry head.
He didn't know what it would be like if he were in that situation on that day. He was a little curious and excited about it, looking forward to his choice. Only when he really got to that point could he understand that feeling and be moved to make the real choice deep in his heart, the answer that might be different from what the long-mouthed man said.
"You seem happy?"
Nana Erz asked curiously from the side.
“If, as you think, and I mean you, Miss Nana Erz,” Ruger said with a smile, “you were once a powerful person, but became many… whatever your purpose, this situation may eventually lead to many independent people merging back into one person, or leaving only one person… So would you be willing to become part of the plan? Perhaps you could truly advance, or achieve certain goals, and accomplish some amazing feats.”
The petite girl remained expressionless and replied in a clear voice, "That's a good question, Lord Ruger. I also want to see those amazing things succeed. Every qualified wizard hopes to witness miracles and earth-shattering feats. Some enemies even stop their spells just to witness the unbelievable scene come true. But I am who I am. I have thought about this question four times already. No matter how powerful I was before, that was just her. I am who I am, not her, and I will never become her."
The girl pouted her nose as she spoke.
When Luger heard her occasionally utter assertive words, he would still subconsciously think it was that person. Only when she did some girlish things would he realize that they were actually two different people.
The demonic aura swirled into flames.
Ruger looked at this strange underground city and imagined the more than seventy cities surrounding Black Valley.
Can fate be changed?
Ruger has always believed that things can be changed.
But his encounter with Miss Nanaerz was, arguably, more deeply involved than Leiden's. When Nanaerz appeared before him and said those words by the campfire, it was a devastating blow to him.
This caused him, so insignificant, to waver slightly, or rather, to have more doubts.
Now, he finds it quite amusing.
Ruger glanced at the little creature beside him.
Perhaps it can witness the change of fate, or rather, witness the efforts she made, that everything she did was not over, and that everything was not settled.
“And I won’t let her do that,” the girl smiled and looked behind her. “Meeting her has determined my journey ahead. I will follow her, witness her growth, and guide her growth. I feel that this will be very useful to me. I will guide her to be herself, instead of becoming the person she used to be.”
Instead of seeking out the wizards who prophesied the path, they followed this nervous-looking girl.
Ruger's lips curled up slightly; this was quite an interesting thing.
Since she was once a powerful wizard, it must have taken a long time for the girl in the gray dress to grow up, which seems to have completely changed Nana's trajectory.
"This way I can better collect my share of the reward..."
Judging from Nana Erz's eager expression, she seems to think that following and twisting other people's life trajectories is a very interesting thing.
The girl following behind seemed to still be troubled by matters related to silver or gold coins, thinking about how to perform well and pass Miss Nana Erz's test to obtain a bottle of the most basic fighter potion, even if it was a low-quality one. She was completely unaware that the few casual words exchanged between the two people in front of her on the street were telling the story of her future.
Although these are interesting.
But Ruger still touched the thing in his arms. He found what Miss Nana Erz was going to do interesting, but that didn't mean he wanted to get involved.
He wasn't some big shot; he still remembered how he looked with his belly flat and hair falling out.
Back then, even a sharpened stick was a prized possession, and a long stick with a suitable animal tooth attached was considered a high-end item.
Everything seems like it happened a long time ago, but it also feels like it happened not so long ago.
At least not long enough for him to act with impunity.
He still prefers to follow a plan.
If the plan changes, then that's a different story.
They walked and stopped frequently, and the girl behind them was starting to look like she was about to fall. It seemed that Nana Erz had been with her in Blackhorn City for more than a day, and her physique, which was considered weak among ordinary people, was almost reaching its limit.
“You mean…” Ruger said softly.
"Let's see if she triggers anything we've prepared when she's on the verge of death," the petite girl said calmly. "I'll be careful not to let her really die, but if it's not thorough enough, it'll be hard to tell anything, so I'm also prepared to actually miss her..."
Ruger pursed his lips and swayed as he walked.
He already has basic fighter potions, but he won't interfere with these two inexplicable guys.
Yes, it's inexplicable.
It refers not only to them now, but also to them in the past, or both, which is even more in line with inexplicable.
From another perspective, "inexplicable" can also be described as "unpredictable".
"Where are we going?"
Ruger noticed that they were gradually veering off the main road, and the little creature beside him seemed to be trying to lead him somewhere.
“That group has a nice courtyard, not the best, but it’s very secluded in this city,” Nana Erz said. “They offended you before, so they can use your victim status to get that place. That way, even if there are rule-following wizards in Blackhorn, they can’t say anything.”
“Of course, I’ve already used your name, so I’ll handle the rest. You don’t want to stay in those filthy hotels, do you? Besides, we have maids…” Nana Erz added.
Ruger raised an eyebrow; that sounded good.
In this unfamiliar place, perhaps controlling your resistance and staying by this person's side while waiting is a good option.
All he needs is a small room to meditate.
Perhaps I'll leave here soon.
The two gradually moved away from the bustling area. Although some pale green figures could still be seen in the firelight, most of them were walking in a hurry and silently.
