Chapter 586 Inlay
Alexander agreed, "Indeed, I don't believe they have that kind of technology either... If they really did, wouldn't they have been able to use the planes that attacked us last time? Unless they were desperate, why would they let their well-trained mechanical dragons commit suicide like that?"

Logandao nodded, raised the arms of his mech, and six or seven circles immediately appeared on the screen, all of them locked onto enemies. Then, Logandao pulled the trigger... Several powerful pulse grenades pushed aside the seawater, leaving long white trails in the mech's deep-water vision, before accurately hitting the remaining mechs.

"Why not just shoot it off?" Alexander asked, puzzled.

Luo Gandao smiled and said, "Let's disable their mechs first so we can scan them more clearly... Once they're operational again, destroying them won't be difficult. My system is currently in a conservative countdown to disable them."

As he spoke, Logandao piloted his mech, chasing after the disabled mechs. They had been disrupted by powerful pulses, their systems either malfunctioning or in disarray, causing them to sink downwards. Logandao scanned a nearby mech and confirmed it was indeed a drone mech.

It leaves no space for the driver, so the space saved is either used to build a more suitable shape or to load energy and weapons.

"Is this the surprise Zhang Jie mentioned?" Luo Gandao asked, somewhat puzzled.

As I was pondering this, a blinding light streaked across the cockpit of Logan Road, hurtling downwards at incredible speed. Although it quickly distanced itself, its intense brightness still illuminated the seawater along its path.

This was a depth charge launched by Alexander. The flare descended, eventually striking the seabed and bursting into an even brighter burst of light. The mech's control system sounded an alarm, and then the windshield of Logan Road's cockpit darkened, blocking out the light below.

As the outside light gradually subsided, the windshield's protective function was removed, but the area below remained remarkably bright. It was unclear how the deep-sea lights worked; after the collision, they released their luminous material, which dispersed into the seawater, creating blinding light. This blinding light seemed to be diluted by the seawater, causing the illuminated area to expand rapidly while the overall brightness gradually decreased.

Without making a sound, Alexander began recording the scene after launching the deep-sea flare, specifically to preserve the footage.

By the light, Logando could see the true nature of these unmanned mechs more clearly... Indeed, there were no shipwrecks or signs of seawater erosion as they had imagined. They were not the zombie mechs that Logando and Alexander had envisioned, nor were they the eerie relics of the past from the tales of mechanical dragons.

These were unmanned mechs… fully-fledged unmanned mechs that neither the Allies nor the United States possessed. Of course, neither of them would claim these mechs were superior to their own; this "fully-fledged" assessment was solely from the perspective of unmanned operation. Despite their advanced technology, the combat capabilities of these mechs were negligible compared to the two fully equipped individuals.

Who on earth could have sent these sophisticated unmanned aerial vehicles to their deaths like this...? The answer is right before our eyes. The previous flare didn't actually achieve its full purpose, because it struck the edge of the seabed. Just a dozen meters away from it was a huge chasm.

No, it should be described as a rift valley in the sea… as if some terrifying force had forcibly torn a gap in the seabed at this altitude, leaving a dark, bottomless abyss within. But it should be the origin of these unmanned mechs… because two unmanned mechs, which hadn't moved laterally for long after appearing, were slowly sinking towards this rift valley. Logan had this in mind when using the powerful pulse blast; if the mechs, as marked by the system, showed no obvious signs of lateral movement, they could serve as guides after being disabled.

Alexander clicked his tongue, probably feeling a bit unlucky. After cursing, he fired another depth charge into the valley, and then he and Logandao pulled the trigger simultaneously.

Because in that deep valley, dozens more dark figures were rising upwards. Based on the previous scan results, the system quickly identified them… Of course, even if the system didn't say it, Logan and Alexander already knew.

It's one of those drone mechs again!

Having learned from their previous experience, Logandao and Alexander fired several armor-piercing rounds together. With the defensive capabilities of these unmanned mechs, a single armor-piercing round was enough to destroy targets several times their size. Logandao casually fired a few more rounds at the mechs that had been disabled but not yet destroyed, and then he and Alexander stealthily descended into the deep valley.

After destroying more than thirty mechs, Alexander, considering the limited ammunition reserves, fired a devastating area-of-effect shell. A massive whirlpool formed above them, stirring the waters of the vast rift valley. The remaining mechs, along with other wreckage, were torn to pieces in the whirlpool, which was filled with fragments of high-strength materials.

“But there’s still a problem… No matter what, this rift is a dead end, so how did these mechs get out?” Logan asked, puzzled. Using the light that had spread below, he could see the bottom of the rift. Countless marine creatures were gathered there, regardless of their position in the food chain or their mutated forms; they all seemed to have gathered there without prior arrangement.

Alexander thought for a moment: "Indeed, putting aside the fact that the United States doesn't have this technology... even if a power possessed this technology and wanted to oppose us, there would be no need for them to go to such lengths to hide drones here. Besides, those drones don't show any signs of seawater corrosion, so they might have been recently brought in?"

"Perhaps..." Logan was not good at thinking about these things. He gave up thinking and started the highest power scan, wanting to see through those strange marine creatures to see what secrets the bottom of this rift valley held.

The next moment, Luo Gandao froze. Because the system outlined a huge silhouette on the screen... At this moment, part of it was occupied by these marine creatures, while the vast majority of it was in the rocks at the bottom of the rift.

If I had to describe it, it would be like a giant jar that was stuffed into this rift valley and then firmly embedded at the bottom of the rift valley!

"I'll take care of these things." Upon hearing Logandau's words, the impatient Alexander fired another shot downwards... After the marine life was shredded, the blood mist was swept away, revealing a huge "jar opening" in front of them.
