I built a manor in the Middle Ages

Chapter 11: Bee Repellent

Chapter 11: Bee Repellent (Part )

After returning to the cabin and taking off his clothes, Luc quickly carried little Charlie to the river, pulled out the stingers from himself and the black dog, and then washed them with clean water.

The ferocity of hornets is terrifying, and their stings are even more terrifying.

Luc was better off, as his linen shirt slightly blocked the depth of the tail needle. After removing it and simply washing it, the pain and itching were gone. However, Charlie's condition was much worse.
Little Charlie, who was full of life not long ago, now had his head drooping and his ears drooping. Luc counted them and found that there were as many as eleven black spots on his small body. He stroked them one by one and the black dog grimaced in pain.

"Not bad, he even screamed at the top of his lungs. It seems he won't die."

Luc cleaned Charlie's wound in a bad mood. If it weren't for him, the stupid dog would have been stung to death by the wasp today.

As for the black dog stirring up a hornet's nest, Luc didn't think it was something worth getting angry about.

Everything has two sides. I have been in the forest for quite some time, but I didn't notice it once. Luc is not a careless person. This shows that the hornet's nest must be very hidden. Little Charlie was able to provoke them out today, which can be regarded as wading in the water for Luc in advance, which is better than wading in the water accidentally myself in the future.

After cleaning the wound, Luc stood up and looked for herbs.

It is called a herb, but it is actually just ordinary ant grass, or purslane. This plant is not difficult to find. After a while, Luc dug up a bunch of it, crushed it finely in a pot cake, and applied it to the wounds of himself and little Charlie. Purslane has the function of reducing swelling, but only a little bit. As for relieving pain, of course it is impossible, and he can only endure the pain by himself.

After finishing everything, Luke took the black dog back to the cabin and closed the door. He began to think about how to eliminate the hornets.
It is impossible for Luc to never set foot in the forest behind the mountain again, so this group of dangerous elements must be completely eliminated, or at the very least, their nest must be destroyed!
First of all, the hornet's nest must be near the place where the pheasants were just hunted. Secondly, the size of the swarm should not be large, otherwise after little Charlie angered the other party, it would be impossible for only twenty or thirty hornets to surround and kill him.

However, no matter how small a hornet's nest is, it is still a hornet's nest, and we need to take a long-term view.

"Wasps usually work during the day. Let's go check in the evening and find the nest of this group of hornets first!"

Luke is indeed a ruthless man who dares to open up new land alone in the wild. He had just been stung by a wasp during the day, but not only was he not afraid at all, he also immediately made a reconnaissance plan.

When night fell, Luc returned to the forest with a torch. The flame was particularly eye-catching in the quiet forest. Luc tiptoed towards the bushes, and after some searching, he actually found a hidden beehive on a tree!

The beehive hangs under the tree trunk, hidden at the intersection of two branches, and is obscured by branches and leaves. If you don't look carefully, you really can't see it.

There are not many wasps around the hive at this moment. There are only a few wasps clinging to the nest on the outer shell, and the way they wriggle around the nest looks a bit disgusting.
After knowing the location of the nest, Luc planned to retreat. There was no defense tonight, so he couldn't kill the bees rashly.

When he was about to turn around and leave, Luc suddenly discovered that two pheasants had been caught in the trap he had set during the day!
Luc's eyes widened. What the hell? He remembered that there was nothing when he escaped during the day!
Of course Luke would not let them go. He walked forward, pinched their wings and carried them back to the cabin.

……

The next morning, the hornet's venom began to show up. Even after applying herbal remedies, little Charlie's body was still swollen and he lay on the ground listlessly all day.

Seeing this, Luc had no choice but to rely on the bird to fight on its own, but he would give it some extra cooked meat at mealtime every day. Ignoring the pheasant tied with vines, Luc stirred some yellow mud, then picked up the shaved wooden stakes and began to build a chicken coop.

There was reserved arable land in front of the left side of the wooden house, so he circled an area in front of the right side, marked the route, and started inserting wood, digging holes and filling yellow mud. Luc was very good at this, and soon he built a fence that was five yards long and wide, with a small door on the east side.

This is not the end. Luc built a simple hut with a roof in the middle of the chicken coop, covered the interior with thatch, and then hung a piece of wood horizontally in the house. Chickens usually sleep while standing with their feet holding the stick, and this stick can be regarded as their bed.

After finishing all this, Luc clamped a chicken with his backhand and carefully trimmed off its long wings. Cutting the wings does not mean cutting off both wings of the chicken, but only cutting off the feathers, without damaging the bones and meat.

The pheasant clucked in Luc's hands, its claws flapping constantly.

After trimming the wings, throw them into the chicken coop and then continue trimming the second one.

The first pheasant put into the chicken coop thought it had regained its freedom, but no matter how it flapped its wings, it sadly found that it could not fly over the fence in front of it.
Luc was lucky, there were a male and a female pheasant. When he put the female in, the two pheasants stared at each other, obviously they didn't know each other before.

"It doesn't matter. You'll get to know each other slowly, and who knows, you might even become husband and wife in the future."

There is no such thing as free love among animals. Even if they don't like each other now, they will naturally mate when they are in heat.

Looking at the remaining yellow mud and wooden stakes, Luc did not continue to build the fence, but got up and took out a piece of rabbit fat from the cellar in front of the cabin.

The cellar in front of the wooden house was a new building that Luc had completed in recent days, but it was more like a shallow pit dug to use the moist soil to preserve food for a few more days. It was even simpler than a chicken coop.

Luc feels that if he had a nickname, it would probably be Luc the Digger.
The fat was carefully scraped off with a knife, and then the wheat was packed in a small leather bag taken from the village chief, and moved to another place.

After all the fat oil was loaded, Luke came to the yellow mud, squatted down and covered his entire face and neck with yellow mud!

Then came the arms and thighs, and he didn't stop until he had almost finished wiping all the limbs.

Then Luc put his clothes back on, and took the chain mail out of the wooden house, which was rare. He used fine sand instead of wax to carefully rub the appearance of the chain mail. Chain mail is not easy to maintain. It has been passed down in Luc's family for so many years, thanks to the maintenance every now and then. Luc has a deep affection for this armor. It is not only a product left in the family, but also because it saved his life several times.
However, Luc didn't expect that this time he put it on to poke a hornet's nest.

That’s right, tonight is the night for Luc to destroy the hornet’s nest!
He is a man of great initiative and willingness to think. Once he comes up with a solution, he will immediately start implementing it.

He put on twenty pounds of armor, then used vines to pass deerskin through and hung it on his body. The layers of defense of yellow mud, linen, chain mail, and deerskin gave Luc enough confidence. He took the deer antlers, flint, and hung up the rabbit oil, and Luc headed towards the beehive in the evening.
