Chapter 339 Police Station?
"Tsuna... what do we do now? Take him to the police station?" Shoko whispered in his ear.

She was about to cry when she was asked about the child's parents, which made her uneasy... The worst thought was that the child's parents might no longer be alive.

"Little boy, your father..."

"Tsuna..." Shoko tried to raise her hand to stop him, but it was too late.

Where are your parents? Where do they live?

Hearing this, the little girl stopped crying loudly, but continued to sob softly. She sniffled, tried to steady her voice, and said in a small, tearful voice:
"Mom and Dad... are at work... home... at home..." she said, slowly moving closer to Tsuna's arms.

"Huh...?" Shoko was even more puzzled by her reaction.

Tsuna saw that she wasn't dirty anywhere, and that Shoko had wiped her cute face clean, so he let her snuggle into his arms.

"Eh!!?"

"Let's go? We'll take her to the police station nearby; she should live around here."

As he spoke, Tsuna decisively picked her up, and the little girl naturally wrapped her arms around his neck.

“Eh!???”

"..." Tsuna looked at Shoko, who was stammering back and forth, with a little speechlessness.

Shoko tugged at his sleeve and shook it. "Tsuna, I think she can walk on the ground by herself."

"This way we can walk faster, and it's not heavy."

Seeing that it had no effect, Shoko gave a soft snort and said nothing more, instead asking Tsuna about the little girl in his arms.

"Little friend, why are you here? I remember that Futaba Kindergarten has a shuttle bus that takes you home, right?"

The little girl shook her head, her eyes red, and remained silent.

Seeing her like this, Shoko didn't press the matter further, but instead asked, "Are you hungry?"

As he spoke, he tried to take out some snacks from the bag to lure the little girl down.

The setting sun bathed the path in its glow, and a gentle breeze caressed our faces. Tsuna walked ahead, carrying the little girl, with Shoko beside him.

The two of them left a long shadow that blended into the silhouettes of the three of them. From a distance, it really looked like a father carrying a child and a mother accompanying him on a walk home.

"Look how much she resembles you when you were a child, crying until you were tired and fell asleep," Tsuna said softly with a smile, looking at the girl who had quieted down beside him.

"Where...where is it similar!?"

Shoko punched him in the waist, but she was careful to keep her voice and movements quiet so as not to wake the person in her arms.

"Isn't it similar?"

"No, no, no." Shoko shook her head like a rattle-drum. "When you were here when I was little, I would never have cried like this."

"..."

"When you were little, Aunt Yaeko locked you in the house and wouldn't let you come to see me. The next day when we met, your eyes were swollen like light bulbs. Do you remember?"

"How could that be? Absolutely impossible! I don't believe it unless you have a photograph."

As she gets older, her memories of kindergarten become increasingly hazy, and Shoko would never admit to such an embarrassing incident.

"Photos? Are you sure?" Tsuna looked at Shoko beside him with a half-smile.

"Yabai..." Seeing him like this, Shoko suddenly thought of someone...

That's her godmother. Although she's toned it down a lot in recent years, when she was little, it wasn't just Tsuna and the others who accompanied her as she grew up, but also the sound of her godmother's phone shutter...

"When I get home, I'll ask my mom for her secret photo album and then I'll know if this is true or not."

Tsuna's gentle voice interrupted her drifting thoughts; the voice was gentle, but the mischievousness within it was already overflowing.

“Fine, I’ll look,” Shoko blinked, then said with a guilty conscience, “My godmother has quite a few embarrassing photos of you in her album.” The two chatted about their kindergarten days, and by the time they reached the police station, the sun had set, the streetlights were coming on one by one, and the moon had taken its place in the night sky.

“We found a little girl by the creek,” Shoko said as she entered the police station and found the auxiliary police officer on duty at the front desk.

At that moment, Tsuna walked into the police station carrying a little girl who was still dozing off in his arms.

Seeing that Shoko was explaining the reason, he stopped talking and silently began to look around the Japanese police station.

Having learned the whole story, the auxiliary police officer walked out from behind the sturdy counter and looked at the sleeping little girl in A-Gang's arms. For a moment, he hesitated whether to take her in.

On the contrary, Tsuna didn't think too much about it and gently handed the little girl over while holding her.

However, just as the auxiliary police officer reached out to take the child, the little girl who had been dozing in Ah Gang's arms suddenly woke up.

She opened her eyes in a daze, and when she saw the unfamiliar auxiliary police officer in front of her, her little mouth twitched and she was about to cry.

But the next second she recognized Tsuna's familiar face and forcefully suppressed her sobs, her small body tense as she tried her best to hold back her tears.

But when she saw Tsuna's obvious gesture of handing her over, the taut string finally snapped...

"Wow--!"

The little girl's cries instantly rang out in the police station! Shoko, who was standing nearby, instinctively covered her ears.

The auxiliary policeman's hand was still frozen in mid-air. Seeing that he didn't dare to take it, Gang had no choice but to hug the wailing little girl back into his arms, gently patting her back and coaxing her softly.

"..."

After she finally calmed down, she clung tightly to Tsuna's clothes with both hands, as if afraid that he would send her away again.

Seeing this, the auxiliary police officer could only shrug helplessly.

Shoko, standing nearby, was pouting and glaring angrily at the little one in his arms—she'd never received this kind of treatment as a child!

"Boom!"

Tsuna flicked Shoko's forehead with his finger, giving her a sharp, cracking flick. "What are you thinking about?" he whispered.

Shoko winced in pain and cried out, then shrank back and put away her sullen expression.

"Can you get in touch with her parents soon?" Ah Gang looked up at the auxiliary police officer standing next to him, his tone urging.

The auxiliary police officer nodded, a confident smile on his face.

He skillfully pulled a lollipop from his pocket and waved it in front of the little girl, his movements so practiced it was like muscle memory—a trick that never failed him.

He forced a smile and asked in a sweet, child-coaxing voice, "Little friend, tell me..."

But he hadn't finished speaking yet.

The little girl didn't even lift her eyelids; she just buried her face deeper into Tsuna's neck, shrinking even tighter like a little quail.

The air was suddenly quiet.

The lollipop froze in mid-air, and the smile on the auxiliary police officer's face slowly cracked.

Tsuna, Shoko, and even the little one in his arms fell silent.

"How about we take a picture and ask Yoshinaga-sensei?" Shoko suggested, raising her hand as if she were in class.

She preferred to call him Yoshinaga-sensei rather than Ishizaka-sensei.

"Huh? You know her teacher?" The auxiliary police officer was clearly taken aback, his eyes widening slightly.

“Mmm,” Shoko nodded, pointing to the Futaba Kindergarten badge on the little girl’s collar:
“I recognized her from this school uniform. Tsuna asked her on the way here,” she said, her eyes sparkling. “That’s right, we know her teacher.”
