In 1883, on the western frontier, amidst blood and fire, the Dutton family embarked on their westward journey: veteran James protected his family, rebellious daughter Elsa sought freedom, and precocious teenager Tom tamed the fierce mule "Mudfish," struggling to survive amidst gang warfare and the desolate wilderness. Using their wagons as shields and lever rifles as spears, they practiced a brutal law in gallows-ridden towns and vast plains—either tame the wilderness or be swallowed by it.
