Chapter 1382
While the children were enjoying their youth, Yang Le finally completed his initial plan.
He created enough simple omnitrix devices to arm all the superheroes, or perhaps they should be called disposable gene fusion devices.
This device doesn't actually resemble the Omnitrix; it's more like a fusion evolution device.
This device has only two capabilities. The first is to allow the wearer to fuse with the genes built into the device, rather than simply transforming the wearer into other alien heroes.
The second is to restore the wearer from the fused state to their original state, since you can't keep the wearer in that fused state indefinitely.
It's unlikely that anyone could accept becoming a melting monster for their entire life, and even Yang Le wouldn't maintain his alien hero status indefinitely if it weren't necessary.
Looking at the densely packed devices displayed on the shelves, Yang Le felt a long-lost sense of pride, but this feeling was quickly overshadowed.
Clearly, while this equipment is sufficient to win many interstellar wars, it is not enough to make Yang Le feel at ease about the upcoming war on Apokolips.
Unfortunately, Darkseid's infamous reputation made Yang Le unable to feel at ease.
In the comics, the former's every move is enough to cause a major event, so Yang Le has no choice but to be on his guard.
Unable to stay idle, Yang Le once again threw himself into his work.
This time, he plans to create enough ultimate evolution devices, which he intends to give to Superman and others.
The ultimate evolution device is not like some ordinary thing that can enhance strength; its improvement is relatively limited for some relatively mediocre races.
Take humans for example. In the vast universe, it is hard to find a race as well-rounded as humans, who can dabble in almost every aspect.
However, because it is too balanced and lacks sufficient unique characteristics, even after undergoing ultimate evolution, it cannot significantly increase its combat power. In any case, it certainly cannot compete head-on with Parademons.
However, ultimate evolution could be used against powerful aliens like Kryptonians, or non-human races.
The ultimate Kryptonian or the ultimate Martian—just thinking about it is exciting enough.
In fact, Yang Le had also considered using the Omnitrix to repair the genes of the Parademon army, but he could not guarantee the success of this strategy.
After all, Parademons are essentially similar to the Gravanic shapeshifters, a race of shapeshifters. They can be considered an artificial race. Therefore, the Omnitrix's gene repair function may not only fail to weaken Parademons, but may also repair their genetic defects, thereby indirectly strengthening them.
Yang Le boldly speculated that Parademons directly modified from other races could probably be repaired, but Parademons cultivated directly from embryos would likely not be so.
Yang Le couldn't figure out which method Apokolips used, but he knew he couldn't afford to gamble on it.
Even if Darkseid uses both methods to save resources, about half of the enhanced Parademons will still be waiting for them after the irradiation.
Moreover, this move is basically a kill on first sight. Yang Le doesn't believe that Darkseid wouldn't be able to tell what method he used after he used this move once.
Darkseid only needs to modify the logistics, and normal warfare will return to its original state.
Yang Le scratched his head in worry as he thought about this. Although he was not afraid of god-like opponents, he knew how difficult it was when his opponent was truly a god.
Just then, a sudden phone call interrupted Yang Le's self-torture regarding his receding hairline. Yang Le snapped out of his reverie, answered the call, and heard a familiar, hoarse, deep voice.
"This is Batman, Yang. I need you to come here."
"Batman? Alfred actually allowed you to leave the ward? Or did you sneak out?"
When asked by Yang Le, Batman simply replied, "Time is tight and the mission is heavy. Alfred will understand," and then moved on from the topic.
"Enough with the small talk, get to the Cybertronian conference room as soon as possible."
Batman then hung up the call; even injured, he couldn't shake his decisive and efficient nature.
Yang Le only realized his head was spinning after hanging up the phone. You have to understand that he was currently in the form of a Little Soldier, that is, a Gavin alien.
These intelligent aliens, known as Little Monsters, possess an extremely unique dual-brain physiology: one brain is dedicated to thinking, while the other is dedicated to movement.
Even under these circumstances, Yang Le still overworked his brain, which shows just how crazy he had been.
After transforming back into a human, the dizziness subsided slightly, and Yang Le had to take out the nasal inhaler he had developed in his Pu Ba state to refresh himself.
Don't worry, although this stuff is very pure, it's not icy and has no addictive properties. It smells similar to Tiger Balm, only it's more energizing.
Incidentally, this stuff has received unanimous praise from many superheroes, especially Batman, who bought a lot of this breath from Yang Le.
Yang Le even wondered if he could live a life of ease with just this one nasal inhalation, even if he only supplied it to Batman.
After regaining his composure, Yang Le activated the teleportation, sending himself from the laboratory to the conference room.
When they arrived at the conference room, it was already packed with people; it could be said that more than half of the superheroes had arrived.
Yang Le walked over to Wonder Woman's side as a matter of course, sat down, and asked, "The meeting just ended and you've already brought everyone back. Even if it was Batman who chaired it, I bet everyone has a lot of complaints, right?"
Unexpectedly, after hearing Yang Le's words, Diana showed a resentful expression towards him, but it was only for a very short moment, and Yang Le would not have noticed it if he hadn't carefully observed.
"Um... what's wrong?"
Yang Le asked uncertainly. After all, it was rare to see such an expression on Diana's heroic face, which made Yang Le feel that he had done something wrong.
“It’s been two days since the last meeting.” Diana rolled her eyes. “Yang, you’re clearly very smart, but sometimes what you say and do really leaves me speechless.”
Yang Le was stunned for a moment before he came to his senses. He thought less than half a day had passed, but he didn't expect that two days had already gone by.
Then Yang Le suddenly realized, "That's right! Building things takes time too. Just those hundreds of gene fusion devices alone couldn't be made in half a day, not to mention the time needed to come up with a strategy."
It seems he's really confused; he's even forgotten such basic common sense.
"Is everyone almost here?" Batman's voice suddenly came through. "Then let's begin the operational meeting regarding Apokolips."
