Chapter 1243

Yang Le, who was adjusting Roy's robotic arm, suddenly received a call from Batman.

Seeing the communicator with the bat icon lit up, Yang Le, out of curiosity, immediately connected the call.

"This is Yang Le. What happened?"

While on the call, Yang Le didn't waste any time. Instead, he continued to adjust the robotic arm in his mischievous manner. The one he gave to Roy could only be considered a prototype, while the one he was making now was the official version.

Therefore, more effort is needed, since in addition to the initial three weapons, Yang Le needs to add something more intense this time.

"This is Batman." Yang Le wasn't sure if it was just his imagination, but he felt that the old Batman sounded a little tired.

"What's wrong? You sound very tired."

"Talia just came to see me." Batman hesitated for a moment before telling the story, but he omitted Catwoman Selena, the one who would later cause a huge scene.

Rather, what truly exhausted him was Serena. Batman knew that the former didn't say anything afterward, but given her cat-like personality, it was absolutely impossible for her to let him off so easily.

I'm going to have a headache for the next while.

However, none of this was suitable to tell Yang Le. Batman knew without a doubt that if he revealed these things, he would at most only be ridiculed by Yang Le.

"What do you mean? You have custody of Damian now?" Yang Le asked.

“Talia is letting Damian make his own choice,” Batman explained. “She told me to go back and tell Damian what happened, and then give him three days to think it over. Talia will be waiting for him at the Iceberg Club in three days.”

"Iceberg Club? Isn't that the penguins' territory?"

“Talia must have borrowed that place; at least it is indeed a good place for conversation.”

"You didn't try to capture her?" Yang Le asked curiously. "Lei Xiaogu is a member of the Illuminati, right? His daughter should know quite a bit of information, shouldn't she?"

“Talia told me the truth: she knew her father had joined an organization called the Illuminati, but Ray Xiaogu hadn’t told her anything.”

Batman explained, "Talia doesn't necessarily know more about the Illuminati than Damian does."

"You believe what she said?"

"She had no reason to lie in that situation, and I did indeed make a mistake."

Batman didn't reveal that it was actually Selena who caused the trouble. After learning of Damian's existence, Selena got angry, and Talia used the fight as an excuse to escape.

Although Selena messed things up, Batman doesn't intend to blame her too much, not because he's a sycophant, but because she knows absolutely nothing about the Illuminati.

Selena only saw Talia as someone who was there to cause trouble, and she didn't know that the latter was involved in so many things, so it's understandable that she messed things up.

Furthermore, it wasn't appropriate to tell Selena about the Illuminati, so Batman suffered in silence. He simply told Selena seriously to stop interfering in Talia's affairs and the League of Assassins' business. However, even if Batman hadn't said anything, Selena wasn't some stupid street urchin. Her ability to grow up normally with such a beautiful face wasn't just due to a healthy body, but also to her intelligence.

Batman's words and attitude spoke volumes. Selena, realizing she had done something wrong, obediently offered a kiss and promised Catwoman she would behave for a while before leaving.

Like a cat, a good cat maintains this elusive feeling; you can't completely control her, but she knows how to please you and make you unable to let her go.

"So what should we say? Call in reinforcements? Get the small-town boys together and we'll ambush her at the Iceberg Club and take her down?"

“That would alert her.” Batman shook his head in disagreement. “Talia will definitely be prepared when we get back. If I grab her now, I might not get the answer I want, and I might lose it forever.”

“We could do that if it were Lei Xiaogu, but Talia isn’t that important.”

Batman's words make a lot of sense. Even Yang Le, who has become somewhat impulsive after turning into a quirky character, has to admit that Talia's grand prize is not substantial enough.

Using a pair of robotic arms, Yang Le carefully placed a cuboid the size of a little finger into the robotic arms. The cuboid was marked with a danger sign.

Only after the cuboid was inserted into the pre-prepared slot and then protected by the armor did Yang Le breathe a sigh of relief, wipe his sweat, and resume his conversation with Batman.

"Then why did you contact me? You don't want to share your failures with me, do you?"

“That’s just one thing. I have something else to tell you.” Batman said, sending a message to Yang Le.

Yang Le casually opened the information sent by the other party, and his eyes were immediately drawn to the beginning.

“Jason Todd, this is a petty thug I ran into while on patrol. When I saw him, he was taking apart the tires of the Batmobile.”

Batman summarized the situation and then got straight to the point: "Jason's ruthlessness is beyond what ordinary criminals possess. If he continues to be in Gotham's corrupting influence, then I estimate..."

"You predict he'll become a pillar of Gotham's criminal underworld, contributing to the criminal empire of his hometown, right?"

“You’re right,” Batman nodded. “So I’m planning to hand him over to the police and then send him out of Gotham. I was wondering if you could try adopting him; I’m not comfortable leaving him with anyone else?”

"Do I have some kind of top-notch kindergarten teacher certificate?" Yang Le asked, both amused and exasperated. "Boss, besides being the guardian of the Young Justice League, I recently adopted a troubled teenager, didn't Green Arrow tell you about that?"

“It was because Green Arrow told me that I thought of you,” Batman said.

"Don't worry, I'll reimburse you for all of Jason's expenses. If you really don't have time, you can also send him to a family you think is suitable."

It can only be said that Jason's ruthless eyes and short stature left a very deep impression on Batman; he wouldn't have paid such attention to anyone else.

"I never said I wouldn't be the boss." Yang Le sat in his small swivel chair, a shrewd expression on his face. Combined with his appearance, he really did look exactly like the legendary goblin.

"But can the money be exchanged for materials? I know you can get a lot of rare materials, and I have a huge need for them lately."
