Chapter 1061 Blonde Girl
Chapter 1061 Blonde Girl
As Garfield spoke, he peeked out and looked around, trying to find something like a control panel so he could release his mother from the enclosure.
However, after looking for a long time, Garfield couldn't see anything related to the control panel; there was nothing in front of the entire cover.
Garfield scratched his head. He knew nothing about technology; after all, these things were far too advanced for a primary school student like him.
In the end, Garfield racked his brains and could only come up with one solution.
That is to grasp the root of all the problems, that meatball who calls himself the King of Canned Food. As the owner of this place, he must have a way to open the cover.
“Mom, wait here for me.” Garfield placed his hand on the shield. “I’m going to find that meatball and make him let you out, then I’ll give him a good beating!”
Garfield acted immediately, turning to run out of the hall before Mary could even call out to him, until another voice rang out.
"Wait a moment!"
It was a woman's voice, but it wasn't Garfield's mother's; the voice was clearly younger than Mary's.
Garfield turned his head and saw that not far from the hood that trapped Mary, there was a blonde girl who was also trapped in a hood.
It was during this time that Garfield had the leisure to take a good look at the entire hall. It turned out that there were far more than just the one dome that he and his mother had; there were roughly dozens of them.
Each of these dozens of enclosures contains a creature, and they all look strange and wonderful. Some resemble starfish, while others look like dragons from Earth's legends.
Aside from Garfield and his mother, the blonde girl is probably the only humanoid being, and Garfield hasn't yet noticed any difference between her and humans.
Garfield looked around, then pointed to himself and asked.
"Are you calling me?"
"Of course it's you. Who else here can understand me but you?"
The blonde girl waved to Garfield, who just looked and didn't come over, which made her furious.
What are you still standing there for?
The girl's tone was a little harsh. To be honest, Garfield didn't really want to go, but before he could speak, Mary answered first.
"Don't listen to her Garfield, and you little girl, with such a rude tone, do you expect others to help you? Didn't your parents teach you how to talk to others?"
The blonde girl was stunned for a moment by Mary's retort, and after a while, she replied in despair.
"What can I do? I've been trapped here for quite a while now. Anyone would lose their temper after being treated like a wild animal and locked up in a display case for so long!"
"And don't even mention my parents, they're long dead!"
Mary had already prepared a response to the girl's retort, but upon hearing about the latter's tragic past, all her prepared words vanished.
"Um... I'm sorry..."
Mary was at a loss for words and could only apologize, while the blonde girl remained silent.
After a moment of silence in the hall, the blonde girl spoke again.
"Never mind all that nonsense. Now listen carefully, kid. If I heard correctly, you have the ability to become an alien, right?" Garfield didn't know why the blonde girl was asking this, but he still answered her question honestly.
"Pretty much, but I can't change anything that's close to humans, whether it's my appearance or the organs inside. In short, the closer something is to me, the less I can change. Also, pure energy beings, mechanical life forms, or non-carbon-based organisms are all unsuitable."
(There was a bug in the previous text; according to the setting, the Beast Boy couldn't transform into a Flame Man. Here, it's changed to a Stingray Man.)
"It's alright, whatever you transform into meets the above extreme requirements." The blonde girl waved her hand. "Can you transform into that ball of flesh from before?"
Garfield was taken aback, then without saying a word, he used his transformation ability. After his body twisted briefly like putty, a Canned King appeared, looking exactly the same except for his completely green body.
"How about it? Let's agree not to talk about skin color first, there's nothing I can do about it."
"It's alright, this is enough." The blonde girl excitedly patted the shield. "That fleshy ball uses its voice to control the entire warship. As long as you can perfectly match its voiceprint, you can open our shield!"
“Your voice is already very close to his. Try to recall it in your mind and make sure your voiceprint is exactly the same.”
Upon hearing this, Garfield knew it was a better plan than his aggressive attack, and immediately cleared his throat and tried to imitate it.
"Activate! Activate... Activate..."
Relying on his memories, Garfield began to gradually control his vocal cords, trying his best to become like the King of Canned Food.
It took about three or four minutes before the surrounding shields finally responded.
"Hiss! Hiss~"
Amidst the sound of gas leaking, dozens of domes in the hall began to slowly rise, showing signs of opening. Upon seeing this, the blonde girl quickly called out.
"Don't open them all! There are still quite a few threatening creatures locked inside!"
Upon hearing this, Garfield quickly modified his orders, selectively opening only the covers containing his mother and the blonde girl, leaving the rest as they were.
Mary ran towards Garfield the moment the dome opened, while the blonde girl was no less fast; she ran out of her dome as if avoiding a plague.
After glaring angrily at the red light behind her, the blonde girl tossed her waist-length hair and let out a long sigh.
"Finally... we escaped! Thanks, kid. If it weren't for you, I might have been trapped here forever."
Garfield shook his head and said, "I have a name. My name is Garfield. You can call me Garfield."
"I also want to thank you. If it weren't for you, I really wouldn't know how to rescue Mom. By the way, what's your name?"
"My name is Kara." The blonde girl jumped up and down a few times for some reason, then looked disappointed after standing still.
"Damn it, after being exposed to the red sun for so long, I don't know when it will recover."
"What were you arrested for, Kara?" Garfield asked, vaguely hearing Kara mutter something, but he couldn't make out what she was saying.
"I don't know either. I was lying in my hibernation pod when I woke up and was grabbed by that fleshy ball."
