Chapter 1060 Escape
Yang Le once taught Garfield that if your enemy says something you don't understand, you can reply with a universal answer.

"I'm too lazy to reason with you; you're not worthy to listen."

Then, if the enemy says something that angers you, you must stay calm and find the best angle to punch that beast.

Because fists are the best response than words.

At that moment, the canned food king said something that angered Garfield. The latter understood what the former meant: wasn't this just trying to keep him like an animal in a zoo?

Honestly, this treatment infuriated Garfield, but because of the cover, he couldn't reach the other person, let alone punch the Canned King.

"I can tell you're very angry." The canned food king had calmed down by now and returned to his polite demeanor.

"But that's to be expected, since I've taken away your freedom. But rest assured, I can give you anything you want except freedom."

"Whether it's food, water, or even beautiful women to reproduce with, I can bring you anything from any planet, as long as you don't leave here."

"And although it was a mistake, I've brought your mother here, so you probably won't feel lonely anymore. Just stay here obediently."

After saying that, the canned food king turned to leave, but he quickly stopped and turned back as if he had suddenly thought of something.

"Oh, by the way, don't even think about breaking the barrier to escape. After the experience of failing last time, I've made thorough preparations this time. Even a Kryptonian couldn't open this barrier by brute force."

After saying this, the King of Canned Food did not turn back, but instead turned and left the hall.

After the canned king walked out the door, Garfield changed his appearance once again, this time transforming into a more aggressive tiger.

Sparks flew as Garfield rubbed his two sharp claws against his chest, completely ignoring the Canned Food King's earlier instructions, and kept throwing punches at the cover in front of him.

After a minute of relentless attacks, Garfield stopped, panting heavily, and the shield in front of him wasn't even scratched.

It seems that the King of Canned Food wasn't bluffing. Whether his claim that the canopy could trap Kryptonians is true is still unknown, but its sturdiness is certainly extraordinary.

It was practically impossible for the Tiger to destroy the shield, but because of its poor performance before, Yang Le had not shown it any more alien heroes.

The Tiger was already the most destructive weapon he had, meaning that escaping on his own was practically impossible.

Garfield felt bitter, but he didn't show it on his face because he thought of Mary standing behind him. However, he still deactivated his transformation to conserve his energy.

Garfield turned around and found Mary looking at him with hopeful eyes. Although he didn't want to, he could only shake his head.

Mary seemed to lose all her strength and collapsed to the ground. Garfield quickly took two steps to her side and helped her sit on the bed.

“Garfield, don’t blame your mother for saying some discouraging things.” Mary lowered her head, so Garfield couldn’t see her expression.

“But I’ve been thinking that maybe it would be better if I didn’t let you accept that power, and then you wouldn’t have been dragged into such a terrible thing.”

“How could that be, Mom?” Garfield comforted her. “Even if I don’t accept this power, the Canned King will still hunt other creatures. Although I may not get involved in this event, the number of suffering creatures in the universe will not decrease as a result.”

“Instead of those discouraging words, I should be thinking about how to defeat Canned King and thwart his schemes. That’s what a member of the Young Justice League should do.” Garfield’s words weren’t just for Mary; they were also for himself. He wanted to use these words to encourage his wavering heart.

Despite his righteous and awe-inspiring words, he was actually unsure of himself, as he genuinely didn't know how to escape.

After comforting Mary, Garfield sat on the bed and began to think about how to break the deadlock.

The only forms he can currently transform into, aside from Earth animals, are the alien heroes that Yang Le transformed into in front of him.

These alien heroes are Tiger, Fireman, Thunderclap, and Steeljaw.

It has land, sea, and air forces, and is good in both offense and defense, but none of them can solve the current situation.

Garfield wanted to test the Flame Man's high temperature, but Mary was currently in the same space as him, and recklessly using high temperature might harm Mary first.

With nowhere else to turn, Garfield couldn't help but recall Yang Le's words.

While alien heroes do possess physical abilities far exceeding those of humans, their power should not be used carelessly; more emphasis should be placed on technique.

Even an ant can solve an elephant problem if the right conditions are right.

"That's it!" Garfield had a sudden inspiration. "I have another trick up my sleeve."

Garfield's voice startled Mary. To her bewilderment, Garfield stood up, his body shrinking as he twisted and shrank until he disappeared completely from Mary's sight.

"What?" Mary jumped up in alarm, looking around frantically. "Garfield? Where are you? Don't scare Mommy."

"I'm here, Mom!"

Mary had barely finished speaking when she heard a response. She looked in the direction of the sound and saw a green object that was constantly expanding outside the cover.

In the end, the green blob transformed into Garfield in Mary's eyes, who landed and waved to Mary with a smile.

"Garfield!" Mary exclaimed excitedly, rushing close to Garfield. "How did you escape?"

“I thought about it,” Garfield said, pointing to his head. “Mr. Yang’s words gave me a lot of inspiration.”

"It just occurred to me that in order to sustain our lives, the cannery must be supplying us with air, but there is no air-generating equipment inside the can."

"This means that the air is likely produced somewhere and then transported here through pipes. So, if I find the pipes first and become a small enough creature, I can escape through them."

Garfield looked relieved as he said this, adding, "Because of my abilities, Mr. Yang forced me to read a lot of books about animals, so I know about a creature that is small enough."

"The protozoan H39, a single-celled organism, is only 0.3 micrometers in size, which is more than enough to pass through any pipe."
