Chapter 1062 Krypton Girl
Chapter 1062 Krypton Girl
Kara gets angry whenever this is mentioned. In her opinion, if she weren't in hibernation in her hibernation pod, the Canned King would never have been able to catch her.
"Hibernation pod?" Garfield asked, puzzled.
“Didn’t I tell you before?” Kara scratched her head. “My parents died because my home planet exploded. Luckily, my cousin’s parents predicted the disaster.”
"Thanks to the wisdom of my parents, my cousin and I were able to escape our hometown before it was destroyed, but they weren't so lucky..."
Kara briefly recounted her experience, and the more Garfield listened, the more familiar it sounded. He felt as if he had heard or seen a similar story somewhere before.
"That's it!" Garfield exclaimed in realization. "It's almost exactly the same story as Superman!"
“Superman?” Kara frowned. “What’s that?”
“Superman is a superhero from our planet, Earth,” Garfield explained. “He’s a Kryptonian. Kara, are you a Kryptonian too?”
Most people on Earth know the story of Superman, but the general public only knows the general idea that Superman is an alien, the last survivor from Krypton.
As for more detailed information, that's all classified information within the Justice League, and basically only official members have the right to know it.
Garfield was a bit special because, in order to test his abilities, he had read a lot of information about aliens, including Kryptonian Superman. The information contained detailed records of information that Superman himself had filled out.
However, since Superman was just an infant when he left Krypton, all his information came from the holographic records left by his parents in Lonely Fortress.
Therefore, many things about Superman are still a mystery, and everyone thought that this mystery would accompany him for the rest of his life. Garfield also thought so. Unexpectedly, he encountered a suspected Kryptonian orphan here.
“I really am.” Kara looked somewhat surprised. “What’s the name of that Superman you’re talking about?”
Garfield replied, "His Kryptonian name is Kal-El."
Kara's reaction to hearing the name was even stronger than before; her beautiful eyes widened and her cherry-colored lips involuntarily parted.
"Karl-El!? That's my cousin's name!"
"Really?!" Garfield was no less surprised than Kara. He had thought that the latter might be related to Superman, but he never expected that the two were so close that they were actually family.
“Of course it’s true.” Kara rolled her eyes dramatically. “Let me reintroduce myself, my name is Kara Z-El, I’m Karl-El’s cousin, and I also come from Krypton.”
In a different environment, Garfield would certainly offer his blessings and applause to Kara for finding her family, but the current environment is clearly not suitable for him to do so.
"That's great! So you also have superpowers as powerful as Kryptonians?"
Faced with Garfield's expectant gaze, Carla could only manage a wry smile.
"That was true before, but not anymore. That fleshy ball knows all the information about Kryptonians. Did you see the light on the ceiling of the room where he locked me?"
As Kara spoke, she pointed to Garfield's original room, and the latter followed her hand to see the round lamp that occupied the center of the room. "That's not an ordinary lighting device. That lamp is a device that simulates the radiation of the red sun, and Kryptonians' abilities are continuously weakened after being exposed to the red sun until they have no superpowers at all."
Kara waved her hand angrily and said, "I've been exposed to the red sun for a long time now. Although that fleshy ball will intermittently stop the red sun for a while because it's afraid something will happen to me, it will take too long for my abilities to recover if I don't expose myself to the yellow sun."
"I have almost no power right now, except for my brain, which is why I was able to learn your Earthling language in such a short time."
Hearing Kara say that, Garfield was somewhat disappointed. He had thought he would have a strong ally, but in the end, he was left with only himself.
"What should we do now?" Mary shrank back, still very scared.
“I suggest we avoid a direct confrontation with the Canned Food King,” Kara said. “This entire spaceship belongs to him; he has absolute control. Although there aren’t any in the main hall, I suspect such a large spaceship certainly won’t lack guards.”
"Therefore, we should quietly and silently board the escape ship and leave here, and come back to take revenge when we have the chance in the future."
Kara's plan was sound, and Garfield agreed to it; he wasn't arrogant enough to think he could take on the entire ship's enemy single-handedly.
Moreover, when Canned Food King first captured him, he used some kind of weapon to transfer him from his home on Earth to a spaceship.
The device for transferring the missile is similar to the Zeta Ray teleportation device used by the Justice League, which means that the Canned King possesses at least a similar level of technology to the Justice League.
Furthermore, the Canned King can create a barrier that even Kryptonians cannot break. In comparison, it would be unwise to confront the Canned King head-on.
After a brief discussion, the three of them arrived at the exit of the hall. Just like when they opened the cover before, Garfield opened the hall door again using his voiceprint.
After the gate opened, what appeared before the three of them was a rather long passageway. This passageway was clearly meticulously designed, with some strange plants planted on both sides of the central path.
Just like them, these plants were also kept in enclosures, seemingly because they required different growing environments.
"These are also some plants that are on the verge of extinction in the universe, or have already been identified as extinct."
Kara glanced at them and still recognized them all. Just as she said, although she had temporarily lost her abilities, her brilliant mind was not affected.
Kara stood at the doorway looking around, not to see the plants, but to find something like an escape map, though there was clearly none in the passage.
"It seems we can only take it one step at a time," Kara sighed.
Garfield transformed back into a bee and greeted Kara and the other woman in a soft voice.
"I'll go ahead and scout ahead. You two stay where you are and don't move."
After saying that, Garfield buzzed and flew toward the end of the passage.
