Chapter 1034: Only 2 people needed to complete the TTG assembly
Chapter 1034: Only two people away from the TTG assembly (laughs)
Seeing Garfield's insistence, Mary hesitated for a long time before finally agreeing, but on the condition that she agree to three conditions.
First, Garfield must not use his power for evil purposes after he gains it.
Secondly, even after gaining the power, Garfield cannot give up his normal life; he must pass the university entrance exam that the two of them had agreed upon.
Third, Garfield must join the Justice League.
These three conditions seem simple, but each one actually reflects Mary's thoughts.
The first point is very simple: after Garfield gains superhuman powers, he must not use them to commit crimes or harm ordinary people; he must always be a good person.
Then the second point is to prevent Garfield from losing himself, to keep him on a normal life track, and not to become someone else.
The third and final point is to ensure Garfield's safety. A large-scale operation is always much safer than a solo operation, right?
However, the Green Lantern Corps does not think so.
"I'll have Garfield join the Young Justice League first, the same organization that Martian Girl and Robin joined. It's like a reserve force for the Justice League. There, he'll receive proper guidance and be taught how to use his powers."
Yang Le noticed Mary's unease and offered a word of comfort. Then, without looking at her unnatural expression, he focused intently on Garfield, waiting for his reaction.
Since Mary and her son have already chosen to accept the power of the Crimson of All Beings, Garfield will gain the power as long as Yang Le does nothing.
Garfield looked at his hands, wondering why he had vaguely sensed some changes in his body after waking up.
"This is!"
Garfield suddenly noticed green spots on his palms. At first, he thought it was grass juice on his palms, but he couldn't get rid of the green spots no matter how hard he tried.
Not only that, those green spots were gradually expanding, eventually merging together and turning both palms a light green.
"Garfield, your hair..."
Mary's trembling voice caught Garfield's attention, but unfortunately his hair was too short and there was nothing in the room to reflect it like a mirror. In his haste, he immediately reached out and plucked out a few strands of hair.
Garfield opened his palm and found a few dark green hairs lying in his light green palm. You know, he used to have beautiful red hair, just like his mother.
“Don’t worry, this is proof that you are possessing ‘red’ power,” Yang Le explained. “When your entire body turns green, your transformation will be complete.”
“But wasn’t it supposed to be the power of ‘red’?” Garfield was on the verge of tears. “But how did I turn green now?”
If Yang Le remembers correctly, it seems that all of Beast Boy's body tissues except for his skeleton turn green. The reason they don't turn red is because Beast Boy was created a long time ago, and it seems that the concept of 'color' didn't exist back then.
However, Yang Le remembered that Beast Boy did turn red for a period of time, but it was later changed back to green. The comics didn't seem to explain why, but Yang Le guessed that it was largely due to readers' disapproval.
"Um, 'red' is just a name, not the color that your power manifests."
This can only be described as a historical issue left over from the comics. Yang Le didn't know how to explain it either, since the Limb Council under the Red of All Beings was also composed of a group of guys with red elements.
It's best not to worry about the details. Fortunately, neither Garfield nor Mary paid attention to them, because by then Garfield had already completed his transformation.
Garfield pulled off his t-shirt and carefully examined the changes in his body. Yang Le guessed that if he hadn't been there, Garfield would have definitely pulled down his pants to take a look.
"So I've gained power?" Garfield got out of bed. "I definitely feel much better; all that weakness is gone."
"This is because the tropical disease you have is the reason why the Red Connection of All Beings came to you. Now that the power has entered your body, the disease will naturally get better. I don't need to inject the medicine I gave you anymore."
Upon hearing this, Garfield immediately jumped off the bed. No child likes injections, and as for adults... well, maybe some abnormal people would like them.
“Garfield, you should have heard what your mother and I said before. The Red of All Beings has given you the power to become any creature in this universe. You can become any species as long as you want.”
Yang Le crouched down and began to guide Garfield to use his own strength.
"Now, imagine what a creature looks like in your mind. Try to concentrate and don't let your mind wander. Just think about the creature you want to become."
Garfield also became serious for once, took a deep breath, and slowly closed his eyes.
A few seconds later, Garfield's body suddenly began to melt like putty, and to Mary's horrified gaze, Garfield's small body was gradually stretched and widened.
Its smooth skin was covered with a layer of light green fur with dark green patterns, and two sharp claws as sharp as steel knives extended from its hands. It was the same fierce tiger that Yang Le had transformed into when he first appeared to save the mother and son.
Garfield first looked at his own hands, then looked at Yang Le and saw his own reflection in the latter's eyes.
"I succeeded!"
"Yes, you succeeded." Yang Le nodded in satisfaction. "You succeeded on your first try, Garfield, you're very talented."
"really?"
"of course it's true."
In fact, Yang Le didn't know much about the Red of All Beings, so he didn't know how difficult it was for the Beast Boy to transform.
All he remembered was that in the comics, Beast Boy was able to successfully transform on his first appearance, and this ability seemed to be an instinct of his body, so there were basically no mistakes.
“You can try other animal forms.” Yang Le looked at Garfield’s transformed tiger form, which was almost identical to his own except for the color. Oh, right, Garfield’s tiger form, like Ben Tennyson’s, was also unclothed.
But it doesn't matter. Garfield's transformation isn't like that of an Omnitrix. He's not a real Berserker, so naturally he doesn't have the same level of shame as them.
"But remember, don't turn into any big animals, or this rental house won't be able to hold you up."
Upon hearing this, Garfield's body changed again, this time transforming into an antelope. After two transformations, he clearly became more adept at it, even using his ability to transform for fun.
'Now TTG only needs two more members to complete the team,' Yang Le thought to himself.
