Chapter 1028 Mary Logan and Megan

Chapter 1028 Mary Logan and Megan

Mary ultimately couldn't persuade Garfield otherwise.

Unlike other children, Garfield only spent a short period in the city after he was born. Once little Garfield could walk, Mary took him back to the Great Plains.

Here, Garfield has no playmates, not even a single person his own age, but even so, Garfield has never complained.

Garfield was always proud of being able to help his mother, which made Mary feel even more indebted to him. So, she would usually grant Garfield's requests as long as they weren't too unreasonable.

It wasn't too much to ask, but she basically agreed whenever she could. This time was no exception. Mary clearly sensed the danger, but she still couldn't refuse her son's request.

Bao Hu also knew how to keep his distance, ensuring that only he and the Martian Girl would appear in front of the mother and son, and that no one else would enter their home.

Actually, Robin disagreed with Tiger's idea at first, since this was a secret mission and it was best not to cause any trouble.

However, after considering the conversation between Tiger and Mary, Robin changed his mind.

The people of Biarriya are inherently untrustworthy, and Kurak is currently embroiled in internal strife. It would be nearly impossible for them to find someone who could speak without getting involved in the affairs of both countries, but Mary, who happens to be caught in the middle of both, became the best candidate.

Bao Hu had the same idea. From the few words he exchanged with Mary, he realized that this woman knew more than he thought.

The two sides quickly reached an agreement, and after the invisible Martian girl landed, Mary led the two to the place where she and Garfield lived.

Mary and Garfield's home isn't close, but it's only a ten-minute drive away in an off-road vehicle. The former is an independent woman who can drive an off-road vehicle with ease on the prairie.

Along the way, Garfield kept asking why he couldn't see the friends that Tiger had mentioned. The latter could only reply that for certain reasons, they couldn't be exposed, and that she would naturally show up when they arrived at Garfield's house.

As Garfield eagerly awaited, the group finally arrived at their destination after a slightly bumpy journey.

Mary and Garfield's house looked like a typical American farm, with three buildings protected by a sturdy fence: a log cabin for living, a grain barn (distinguished by the smell), and a livestock barn.

Garfield, in an excited tone, explained the function of each building, and it turned out to be exactly as Bao Hu had guessed.

"All right."

Once everyone had entered the cabin, Mary crossed her arms and leaned against the wall, asking a question.

"Now, can you invite your mysterious friend out?"

Upon hearing this, Bao Hu looked to the side. With his mental perception, he knew exactly where the Martian girl was. She also hesitated for a moment before canceling her invisibility.

When the Martian girl first appeared, she startled Mary and her son. Neither of them expected the other to make an appearance in this way, and Garfield became even more excited.

"Mom! It's Martian Girl, the superhero I told you about who looks a lot like you!"

Upon hearing Garfield's words, the Martian girl paused, her hand already poised to remove her hood. After hesitating for a moment, she finally took it off.

With slightly flushed cheeks, the Martian girl looked at Mary with the expression of a child who had done something wrong looking at their parent's face. She only felt a little better after confirming that she did not see any emotion such as disgust in the latter's eyes.

"It really is Martian Girl, so you guys are members of the Justice League, right?" Garfield was so happy he almost jumped for joy. Because of the existence of superheroes in this universe, the general public prefers superheroes who have saved Earth from countless dangers to celebrities. "So Tiger is also a superhero, right? Let me guess, you mentioned you had a few other teammates, are they also members of the Justice League? Who are they? Superman or the Flash?"

"Okay, calm down, Garfield," Mary said, stopping her son and rubbing his head.

"Haven't you always wanted to get autographs from superheroes? This is a great opportunity. Go get your autograph book that you prepared beforehand. I'm sure the heroes won't refuse."

Garfield turned around, and after receiving affirmative replies from Tiger and Martian Girl, he jumped up, turned around, and rushed towards his bedroom.

"Don't run too fast!" Mary stopped smiling gently and turned to face the two men, Bao Hu and Bao Hu, after Garfield rushed to the entrance.

"Honestly, I really want to strangle the person who invited you all here."

"Don't say that, madam. We're not super criminals."

“But you guys are definitely a problem.” Mary scratched her head in distress. “With the ongoing conflict between Biarriya and Kurakor, I’m even considering taking Garfield back home first.”

“That’s the wise decision.” Tiger nodded. “You’re very smart, madam. After seeing us, you should have guessed that there’s definitely something unusual between these two countries. Taking Garfield away from here temporarily is the best choice.”

"If you're worried, I can help you apply for Justice League protection. Professional agents will come to protect you and Garfield."

Yang Le was referring to one of the benefits of the Justice League's legalization: under the premise of compliance with laws and regulations, the Justice League can request the cooperation of law enforcement agencies and special agencies, including applying for protection from the police or special agents to protect an individual.

Normally, when the Justice League needs to protect someone, they take matters into their own hands because the people they deal with are supervillains that ordinary police officers and secret agents cannot handle.

However, Mary and her son were different. They hadn't gotten into any real trouble, so their search for protection was just for comfort. In such cases, ordinary police officers or secret agents would have been sufficient.

“We’ll talk about it later,” Mary sighed. “Tell me, what’s your purpose in coming to me? I don’t think you would easily approach ordinary people when you’re on a secret mission, would you?”

"That's how it's portrayed in movies, after all."

Upon hearing about acting, the Martian girl clearly became more interested, but she also knew that now was not the time to talk about those things, and she could only ask the questions that needed to be asked first.

"We want to know about Biarriya and Kurak. Please tell us everything you know."

Faced with the Martian girl's request, Mary scratched her head in annoyance, sighed deeply, and then said...

"I knew you were going to ask this, but let me make it clear first that I don't know much and I can't guarantee I can help you."

"The fact that you were willing to tell us is already a huge help."

Bao Hu glanced sideways at Megan, who was behaving far too humbly in front of her idol.

Mary seemed oblivious to Megan's unusual behavior and continued talking.

"I've only heard that the president of Kurakor seems to have changed overnight."
