Chapter 6 Sincerity is the only sure-win skill (new book, please recommend~ Thank you!)
"Wes, go in. Headmaster Dumbledore is waiting for you." Professor McGonagall said, "I have other important matters to attend to, so I'll leave first."

"Excuse me, Professor McGonagall. If you have time, I would also like to ask you about Transfiguration. Your paper is truly brilliant and has benefited me greatly."

After Professor McGonagall left, Weiss walked into the door with a nervous mood.

This is an extremely spacious circular room, the walls of which are covered with portraits of former principals, all of whom are snoring softly in their respective frames.

The room is also decorated with various exquisite and gorgeous silverware, exuding a mysterious and charming luster.

Weiss looked around but didn't see Dumbledore's much-celebrated pet, Fawkes the phoenix.

He had never expected that besides Headmaster Dumbledore, there would also be Professor Snape waiting for him.

He hurried forward and said apologetically, "I'm so sorry to have kept you waiting for so long."

Dumbledore smiled and gestured for him to sit down. "You are very punctual, Mr. Irving."

"If you are ready, I think we can start the interview as soon as possible. You should understand that as the principal, I have a mountain of affairs to deal with every day."

Dumbledore said this with a playful wink.

At this moment, Snape sneered with disdain.

"Don't worry about Professor Snape, he's just here to sit in on the class."

"Okay, Headmaster, I think I'm fully prepared."

"The following questions may involve some personal privacy, but I still hope you can answer truthfully."

"No problem, Headmaster."

"Then, Mr. Erwin, could you tell me why you applied for the professorship? You know, the salary offered isn't very generous. Even the monthly salary isn't enough to cover the luxurious robes you're wearing."

Weiss frowned slightly, thought about it, and decided to answer truthfully.

Moreover, he knew very well that his lies would be exposed in front of these two top masters of Legilimency.

"My goal is actually very simple, which is to be able to return to Hogwarts."

"Oh?" Dumbledore gestured with interest for Weiss to elaborate further.

“After graduation, I went on a series of adventures.”

"During this process, I deeply realized how little knowledge I learned in school."

“No one else will impart knowledge to me with the care and generosity you all have.”

"I've encountered an insurmountable bottleneck in my magical explorations, and I believe that only returning to Hogwarts, home to the largest library in Europe, can help me break free..."

Weiss stated his true purpose in one breath with extreme frankness.

"So you're willing to take huge risks by dealing with dark wizards and even violate the rules to explore dangerous ruins."

Professor Snape suddenly interrupted, his deep eyes fixed on Weiss with scrutiny.

His eyes seemed empty and lifeless, and although he was questioning, it was difficult to detect his true emotions.

"That's right," Weiss replied without hesitation.

After getting the answer he wanted, Professor Snape stopped talking.

"You are very honest, Mr. Irving," Dumbledore pushed his glasses on the tip of his nose, his expression slightly serious.

"I've heard some bad rumors about you. To be honest, they really shocked me. If there is solid evidence, I'm afraid you will be thrown into Azkaban by the Ministry of Magic without mercy."

"The Ministry of Magic looks like a load of shit to me!"

Weiss was not frightened by Dumbledore's words at all. Instead, he said emotionally, "Those people are no longer worthy of being called wizards."

Dumbledore and Professor Snape clearly hadn't expected Weiss to be so blunt. "It seems Mr. Irving has a lot of resentment towards the Ministry of Magic. I was so close to becoming Minister of Magic last year."

Dumbledore said this jokingly with a hint of humor.

"That's impossible." Weiss said with absolute certainty.

"A truly wise wizard will wisely stay away from politics, because those dirty and stupid politics will taint the pure soul of a wizard."

"Oh!" Dumbledore couldn't help but be surprised.

"That's a remarkable perspective. You know, it took me decades to grasp this truth, but Mr. Irving, you've already grasped it at such a young age."

"Maybe it's because I'm a Muggle-born."

Weiss patiently explained: "Magic is simply a miracle to me. It has completely changed my destiny."

"Fate..." Dumbledore's expression became somewhat unreadable.

"Well, one last question, Mr. Erwin, do you know the You-Know-Who?"

"You-Know-Who? You mean Voldemort?"

Professor Snape, who was sitting next to him, trembled slightly when he heard the name.

However, he concealed it so well that neither Dumbledore nor Weiss noticed this subtle change.

"Aren't you afraid of such a terrifying existence?" Dumbledore looked at Weiss sharply.

Weiss remained calm: "Why should I be afraid of a guy who has already failed?"

Professor Snape's eyes finally showed a noticeable change.

"I am truly astonished by your courage, Mr. Irving," Dumbledore praised generously. "Almost eleven years have passed, and few in the wizarding world today dare to mention his name directly. Everyone simply calls him You-Know-Who."

Weiss shrugged nonchalantly: "Maybe it's because I come from the Muggle world."

Dumbledore pondered for a moment, then said, "You are hired, Mr. Irving."

Weiss stood up excitedly and shook Dumbledore's hand tightly. "Great, Headmaster Dumbledore. I will definitely work hard to become a qualified teacher."

"Don't be too happy yet. Magic Runes is a rather unpopular subject, and there may not be many students who choose to take it. So, your salary..."

"No problem, Principal, I don't care about the salary."

After the two successfully signed the contract, Wes left happily.

At this time, Dumbledore and Snape were the only ones left in the office.

"He is dangerous." Snape said in a serious tone.

"He is simply too pure," Dumbledore said slowly. "He needs the right guidance. In time, he may become a powerful force for us against Tom."

Snape unconsciously touched the Dark Mark on his arm.

"He shows no fear of You-Know-Who, and my Dark Mark has no reaction at all. He is definitely not a Death Eater."

"Then we should find a way to win him over to our side, Severus. I am getting old, and Tom is about to make a comeback. We need more strength."

The scene fell into silence in an instant.

Snape stood up and left, leaving behind a sentence: "I hope your judgment is correct."

After Wes returned to the hotel, he was in high spirits and couldn't wait to start preparing the lesson plan. He was in a state of extreme excitement.

He raced against time to prepare the lesson plans for the new semester before school started, and was looking forward to the upcoming school day with joy.
