Chapter 26 Arrival at the Land of Delusion

Chapter 26 Arrival at the Land of Delusion

"Goblin?!"

Victoria's expression changed when she saw more than a dozen wolves galloping towards them, with two or three short humanoid creatures lying on each of them.

"Why are there so many? Could it be that there is a goblin's nest nearby?"

"Don't panic, we are all family," Ron patted her shoulder, "at least for now."

"It's not realistic for just a few of us to explore the entire fantasy land, is it?"

"So you're allying with the goblins? My god," Victoria sighed, "They can't be trusted. Didn't anyone ever tell you that..."

The pastor's voice was cut off abruptly by an even louder howl.

At the end of the field of vision, a giant beast that was several times larger than an ordinary wolf came galloping over. It had a full set of protective gear and saddle on its back, and a giant goblin was sitting on it, holding a spear in his hand.

It was Kalade.

"The hobgoblin and his warg!" Victoria's vigilance and hostility became stronger. "Ron, the 'ally' you chose is really dangerous. You——"

"Thank you for the compliment," Karad urged his wolf to rush in front of the people like the wind, "Drivdo said you found a good place for us?"

"No Man's Land, rich in resources, and a hostile environment." Ron nodded. "What about the other goblins?"

"We had to kill some mounts these days, so they had to walk," Karad said, nodding towards Ivy, and then his eyes fell on Victoria. "Who is this woman?"

"I'm……"

"She's from a nearby town that was troubled by refugees from the surrounding villages, so they decided to open up new territory..." Ron gave a brief description of the situation in Frome Town.

"Well, that means the mayor is not very interested in the Delusion Land," the hobgoblin grinned. "Great, then she can survive, and so can the refugees."

“That assumes there are sufficient resources.”

The history and culture of the hobgoblins is one of constant conquest and expansion. Under normal circumstances, Kalade would never turn a blind eye to the surrounding towns and refugees. In his eyes, other races, including his cousin the goblins, are all slaves and cannon fodder.

But the situation is special now. His army has almost reached the end of its rope. Survival is the top priority, and other things must be considered later.

"My lord has no interest in the new territory, but that doesn't mean he would like to have a goblin warlord as a neighbor..." Victoria muttered, but at this point, she did not take any more drastic actions.

Whether out of loyalty to the two leaders, Victor and Ron, or out of her devotion to Heim, based on the preliminary consensus reached by both parties, she would not show hostility to the other party - even the goblins.

While Helm strives to stay alert, clear-headed, and true to his word, Victoria decides to follow her god's instructions: continue to follow Ron, but remain vigilant at all times.

"Very good, it looks like we will have a pleasant cooperation." Ron smiled at her. People in the lawful neutral camp are indeed good companions. They may complain and question, but this will not affect their performance of their duties.

"To be honest, I didn't even have much hope, but you kept your promise." On the way, Karad rode the wolf slowly beside Ron, "You made me look at you in a new light, human." "Too many races look down on us. They don't trust us, so they take our betrayal for granted - they firmly believe that we will definitely do the same thing."

"You made me lose a meal." The wolf under Karad's crotch blew white air to express his dissatisfaction. This large monster was obviously the best of its kind and could even speak the common language.

"Maybe there are too many of your kind doing this." Ron glanced at him. This was not a victim-blaming theory. What he had seen and heard in his two lifetimes did not give him a good evaluation of goblins.

"Really?" Karad pretended to be surprised. "Have you seen many hobgoblins? Or is it her, or her?"

Karad pointed at Ivy and Victoria one after another, and they both snorted coldly at the same time.

"Stories about you are passed down by both elves and humans," Ivy whispered, "and in those stories, hobgoblins are usually not positive characters."

Not to mention the goblins.

"But I released you from prison, gave you a chance to live, and allowed you to leave our base," Karad chuckled, "but you don't seem to have changed your mind."

"No, I have changed, and the fact that I am still here is the best proof of that."

All we can say is that the relationship between goblins and other races is so bad that keeping promises has become a proof of friendship.

On their way, Ron and Victoria chose a route that bypassed the town of Frome to avoid being seen associating with the goblins - others might not be willing to listen to Ron's explanation.

The journey to the outskirts of Delusion took about four days, with the goblin wolf riders acting as outposts a little faster.

"The air is getting humid." Karad licked his cracked lips, his eyes showing excitement. He looked up at the sky, where cumulonimbus clouds were gathering in the sky not far away.

"It's going to rain," Victoria murmured.

Not only these goblins, but the town of Frome has also not seen any rainfall for a long time.

"This is delusion land...it looks like we've come to the right place." Ron breathed a sigh of relief.

These days, their drinking water is basically supplied by Victoria, but although the water-making spell is useful, it takes up precious spellcasting resources. Especially according to Victoria herself, she does not have as much power as Boone, and cannot cast more advanced spells.

These days, priests have basically been used as warriors - although because there are a large number of goblins accompanying them, there is no real need for them to hunt.

"What do you say now?" Kalade sat up high and looked at the terrain ahead. "There is a col on the left hand side ahead. I am not quite sure about your habits. Is that a suitable place to build a base?"

During these few days, Ron and the goblins reached another agreement: the goblins would help them build an outpost to get in touch with the town of Fromm, while Ron would be responsible for persuading the arriving refugees, townspeople, and merchants to live in peace with the goblins and provide trade to Kalard and others.

"Of course you can, but we still have to go deeper. After all, we have to ask for stones and wood from the land." Ron made a suggestion after a brief exchange with the wolf cavalry who had returned from the front.
