Captain Jack of Azeroth
Chapter 15: Shipwreck on the Seashore
Chapter 15: Shipwreck on the Seashore
Jack followed Fizmos and swam towards the east coast. At first, he couldn't keep up with Fizmos' speed, but as he swam, he felt that Fizmos' speed slowed down, but he didn't feel tired.
How is this going?
Jack was confused. He had a clear understanding of his own physical strength. A few months ago, he was exhausted after swimming from the pier to the shore, but now he can swim several piers to the shore. Even if his physical strength has increased a lot after training, it will not increase so much.
Obviously, his illusion just now was not an illusion, he was really full of power.
And there can only be one thing that can cause this result: the blood of the red dragon.
Could it be that I absorbed the blood of the red dragon and my physique was changed?
It's not impossible.
The orcs drank the demon's blood and their combat power became stronger. The blood of the red dragon might also have this effect.
Thinking of this, Jack was overjoyed.
However, in order to prevent Fizmos from noticing anything unusual, he also slowed down.
Although Fizmos's speed slowed down, he still insisted on swimming to the shore before resting. Lying on the beach, Fizmos looked at Jack strangely, "You don't look very tired."
Jack paced slowly, "After strenuous exercise, you can't rest right away, otherwise it's bad for your health."
Fitzmos was suspicious. He was so tired that he couldn't move, but Jack still had the strength to pace?
Jack walked for a while, and then he also collapsed on the beach like Fizmos. Fizmos thought it made sense, and he just thought that Jack relied on his willpower to maintain the habit of pacing after strenuous exercise. The fatigue made his brain lack oxygen, and his IQ also dropped a lot. Although he had some doubts, he really didn't want to think about anything, and just wanted to lie here and take a nap.
When Fizmos woke up again, it was already evening and the sunset was about to sink below the sea level.
Although it was dark, Fizmos felt that it was warm and bright nearby. Turning his head, he saw that Jack had lit a bonfire with two fish roasting on it.
"Are you awake?" Jack took the grilled fish and handed it to Fitzmoss.
Fizmos confirmed at this time that Jack's physical strength was indeed stronger than his. Obviously, this was not reasonable. However, Jack and he had been on the Wave Goddess a few days ago, and he did not show any outstanding physical strength. In addition, Jack's various performances showed that he was obviously not a person with ulterior motives.
Well, there can only be one answer, this change has just happened.
Fizmos quickly thought of the dead red dragon, and couldn't help but feel envious. If he had known that getting into the red dragon's throat could increase his physical strength, he... he didn't seem to have the courage to do so. Jack was able to turn a disaster into a blessing because of his good luck. He couldn't guarantee that he wouldn't be suffocated to death.
He didn't say much. Since Jack didn't say anything, he didn't want to say anything. Everyone has secrets. Although he guessed the truth, he should help Jack hide it. Maybe this secret will become the key to victory at a critical moment in the future.
After eating, Fizmos regained some strength. Together, they covered the bonfire with sand and headed north along the beach.
He pulled the dagger from his leg. Jack's dagger was tied to a wooden stick that he had used to spear fish. Their swords were either lost on the Spray Goddess or fell into the sea, and the dwarf's musket was unusable because the bullets were lost.
So now the two of them can only take care of each other, one is responsible for close combat, the other is responsible for long-range attack, neither is indispensable.
There are no dangerous creatures on the seashore of the wetland, but the dangers increase when you leave the seashore and enter the swamp. There are a lot of crocodiles in the creeks in the swamp. These guys are very good at camouflage. They usually look like wood when they are motionless, but as long as they enter their attack range, they can quickly kill a strong man. At this time, Jack's spear came in handy. Whenever he encountered wood, he would push it with his spear. The wood was easy to push, and the heavy one was the crocodile.
After the crocodile was discovered, it would be difficult for it to attack the two. Fitzmos was experienced in combat, and Jack was agile, so they could easily dodge the crocodile's attack. If the two were not afraid of wasting time, none of the crocodiles they encountered would survive.
With Jack's help, the two finally reached the west coast after three nights. Walking north along the coast, they passed a fishman village.
Although the fishmen have a primitive lifestyle, they are intelligent creatures after all. Although they may not be very smart, they can build houses and light bonfires. At night, the light of the bonfire is very conspicuous. Fizmos took Jack and swam past the sea without alarming any fishmen.
After landing, they wrung out their clothes and continued to head north. Since they were only traveling at night, they did not walk very fast.
Two nights later, they found several ships stranded near the beach. Judging from the outlines of the ships, they looked like Kul Tiras warships.
"Let's wait until daybreak and go aboard to have a look."
Jack didn't care. He didn't have the ability to walk out of the wetlands by himself, so he just followed Fizmos.
The two found a place to lie down and rest, taking turns to keep watch. At dawn, Jack was awakened by Fitzmoss's exclamation: "Oh my God! It's the Spray Goddess!"
Jack sat up suddenly and looked at the warship stranded on the shallows. It was indeed the Wave Goddess.
Fizmos rushed into the sea and swam towards the Spray Lady.
Jack thought about it, picked up his spear, and followed.
There were burn marks all over the Wave Goddess, caused by the dragon's breath. Judging from the direction of the ship, it should have avoided the attack of the dragon's breath, but it did not control the direction well, so it ran aground on the beach. Half of the deck was exposed above the sea, and half remained on the seabed. Fizmos swam to the ship easily.
The deck was littered with corpses, all of them burned to death by the dragon's breath. He glanced at the side of the ship and saw that all the lifeboats were gone. He didn't know whether they had been driven away or lost by the red dragon's pursuit.
On the bridge, Captain Harindor leaned on the rudder, burned to a skeleton.
He climbed onto the cockpit and heard a faint voice calling him, "Fizmos..."
Fizmos looked up and saw a mast not far away, and beneath the mast was a Kul Tiras warship. The shouting seemed to come from underwater.
"How can this be……"
Fizmos was horrified. The warship had sunk, so how could anyone survive? Even if someone was alive, how could they make a sound underwater?
He lay on the side of the boat and saw a figure floating in the water, waving at him.
"Snellig?!!!"
