I'll also work hard to conquer the dungeon today.

Chapter 161, Section 111, Chapter 7: The Amnesiac Corridor

Chapter 161 1.11 7 The Hall of Amnesia
"All eight rooms are cleaned?" The housekeeper looked at Mu Yegui in surprise, seemingly not expecting her to finish so quickly.

I glanced at the wall clock; it was only one o'clock in the afternoon.

Mu Yegui nodded and said seriously, "Yes, you can go and get checked."

"Yes, I'll check. Now that you've finished today's work, you're free to rest. Just don't go to the master's place. Dismissed." The housekeeper nodded, then left expressionlessly.

Mu Yegui watched the housekeeper's departing figure, his cool silver eyes deep and calm, before turning and walking in the opposite direction.

She had thoroughly figured out the layout of the east wing. The west wing, being the servants' quarters, could be explored, but since the master wouldn't go there, the golden key couldn't possibly be in the servants' quarters.

In other words, the central area...

Or maybe we should go to the library again; that's the only place we can access in the central area.

The flowers on both sides of the corridor were still blooming beautifully, but among the bright red, a blooming black lily stood out as particularly glaring.

Mu Yegui was slightly taken aback, then slowly walked over and squatted down in front of the black lily.

The black petals and golden center are like a young girl with her head slightly lowered, shy and bashful, yearning for love but ultimately only left with a curse.

Slender, fair fingers gently touched the black petals; the contrast between black and white created an indescribable visual impact.

Mu Yegui lowered her head slightly, her long, curled, misty white eyelashes fluttering like butterfly wings, her cool silver eyes quietly gazing at Black Lily. She gently inhaled the fragrance of Black Lily, the black suspender-waisted long dress she wore over her white shirt making her echo Black Lily in front of her, as if the two were one.

The footsteps in the corridor suddenly stopped. The man pursed his thin lips and finally chose to walk towards Mu Yegui.

"We meet again." Shu Ming smiled gently, his eyes narrowed, and bent down slightly to look at Mu Yegui with warmth.

Mu Yegui turned to look at Shu Ming, but even his sudden appearance did not surprise her in the slightest.

She asked softly in a sweet, childlike voice, "Who are you? Do you seem to know me?"

"Since you've forgotten, let's get to know each other again." Shu Ming smiled and squinted, extending a hand to Mu Yegui in a very gentlemanly manner.

“I am a companion of the castle lord, from the Kingdom of Truth, and my title is the Greedy Bound.” He spoke very slowly, as if giving her a hint.

In the sunlight, his platinum blonde, tousled hair seemed to shimmer with golden light, and his handsome face, adorned with a gentle smile, gave off a very approachable feeling. However, his slightly narrowed eyes, obscuring the color of his pupils, added a unique, enigmatic quality to his appearance.

"You know my name." Mu Yegui shook her head and stood up instead of placing her hand on him. Her tone remained calm, and she did not show any joy at the man's intimacy.

"Of course, after all, I owe 90% of my success to you," Shu Ming said with a sly smile, his meaning ambiguous.

"That's not exactly a compliment. Although it wasn't explicitly stated, I certainly didn't hear any gratitude or appreciation in your tone," Mu Yegui said calmly, meeting Shu Ming's gaze.

A gentle breeze rustled through the garden.

Mu Yegui tidied her slightly disheveled, misty gray hair. After finishing her work, she took off her white apron and untied her hair. There was no other reason; she just felt more comfortable this way. "Whatever your intentions, I should perhaps thank you." Shu Ming bent down and gently plucked the only black lily, then leaned closer to Mu Yegui.

Mu Yegui was slightly taken aback, but did not avoid him. She simply stood there, wanting to see what he was going to do.

Shu Ming took a simple hair clip from his pocket, threaded it through the stem of the black lily, and then pinned it to the left side of Mu Yegui's hair.

The two were very close, and Mu Yegui could feel Shu Ming's warm breath.

"What are you doing?" Mu Yegui asked.

"I just felt it suited you perfectly, and it's too out of place growing here. Since that's the case, why not let the right person have it?" Shu Ming slightly opened his jade-like, clear eyes, gazing intently at the black lily, his expression unfathomable. The next second, he closed his eyes again, chuckling softly, as if the serious and earnest person from just moments before was not him at all.

Mu Yegui took a step back, distancing herself from Shu Ming. Her long, gray, curly hair fell behind her head, while a black lily adorned her left ear. The atmosphere was extremely harmonious, yet it carried a sinful aura from the darkness, like an abyss.

"I've wanted to tell you ever since I first met you: you've never been an angel. Everyone was just deceived by your seemingly pure appearance. You're more like a demon than any demon from the darkness." That kind of pure, extreme blackness seemed to have been there since birth.

Shu Ming chuckled gently, but his words were laced with deep malice.

"Should I thank you for the compliment? Although I don't remember anything." Mu Yegui reached out and tapped her cheek, her soft, childlike voice carrying a hint of confusion.

"That's up to you. I've said my piece." Shu Ming smiled slightly, his eyes narrowed, and turned to leave.

"Wait a minute." Mu Yegui suddenly called out to Shu Ming.

Shu Ming turned his head slightly to look at her but did not continue speaking, seemingly indicating to Mu Yegui to continue speaking.

"Is greed one of the legendary seven deadly sins? If so, does that mean there are also pride, envy, wrath, gluttony, sloth, and lust?" Mu Yegui asked Shu Ming with a serious expression.

"Do you think I'll answer you?" Shu Ming chuckled and asked in return.

Mu Yegui reached out and touched the black lily by his ear, and slowly said, "Whether you answer me or not, I believe it is the Seven Deadly Sins. If we rank the sins from most serious to least serious, greed is fourth, and the first is pride, which means that the master of this castle is pride. There is a class system everywhere, even the Seven Deadly Sins."

Shu Ming clapped his hands and praised, "A very brilliant answer, I can give you full marks."

"Thank you so much for answering my question." Mu Yegui took a step back with one foot and lifted her skirt with both hands, giving Shu Ming an elegant bow.

A gentle breeze was blowing, and the black lilies by my ear swayed slightly.

"Whether or not one loses their memory, it won't change their original personality. You really haven't changed at all." Shu Ming sneered, then gave her a deep look with his jade-like eyes before leaving without looking back.

Because a person's established nature cannot be changed, just like instinct.
