Chapter 47 The End of the Semester
Chapter 47 The End of the Semester
The next night, the grand final banquet began. Ryan and his classmates went to the auditorium early with their classmates and reserved a seat for Harry at the long table in the college.
"Harry, are you coming today?" Hermione asked Ryan who was sitting next to her.
"I think he will definitely come. After all, we saw that he recovered well yesterday. It should be no problem for him to be discharged from the hospital today." Ryan replied.
At this time, Ron, who was sitting opposite Ryan, also chimed in: "Yeah, I think Harry will definitely come. How could he not come to such a grand party? I think he would crawl over even if my legs were broken."
Hermione glared at Ron, then looked at the special decorations in the hall tonight: the entire hall was decorated with Slytherin's green and silver to celebrate their winning of the House Cup for seven consecutive years. On the wall behind the guest of honor, there was a huge banner with a Slytherin snake painted on it.
"If we're given a little more time, maybe we can get the points back." Hermione said somewhat unconvinced.
Ryan was quite open-minded. On the one hand, Dumbledore would definitely cheat and give extra points. On the other hand, "at least we are not the last. We are at least 30 points higher than the bottom Hufflepuff." (After all, one less person in the night tour reduced the deduction of 50 points. Hermione did not pretend to be invisible in class out of guilt, and Ryan got a lot of points together.)
But after hearing Ryan's comfort, Hermione seemed even more depressed.
When almost everyone had arrived, Harry hurried in from the main door of the auditorium. The noise in the entire auditorium paused for a moment, and then became louder.
Ryan waved to Harry to show them their seats, and Harry ran over and sat in the empty seat next to Ron. Everyone around him looked at Harry, which made Harry look a little uncomfortable.
Fortunately, Dumbledore arrived soon, the noise in the hall gradually died down, and everyone turned their eyes to the headmaster.
Dumbledore happily gave a brief summary, and then began the award ceremony for the House Cup. The scores of each house were as follows:
Fourth place, Hufflepuff, 352 points; third place, Gryffindor, 384 points; Ravenclaw, 426 points, Slytherin, 514 points.
There was a thunderous cheer and stamping of feet at the Slytherin table. Ryan saw Draco Malfoy hitting the table with his goblet. This didn't seem to fit the style of the so-called platinum nobles. He really didn't understand how those pure-blood families learned etiquette.
Dumbledore cleared his throat and continued, "However, several recent events must also be taken into account."
The hall became very quiet, and the Slytherins' smiles also subsided. Ryan knew that Dumbledore was going to give him extra points, although in his previous life, Ryan was a little annoyed by this kind of unfair extra points. But as the saying goes, the butt determines the head, and he was assigned to Gryffindor in this life, so naturally he wanted to say, "Give me a little more points."
When Ryan came back to his senses, Dumbledore had already announced the bonus points. First, he added 50 points for Ryan and Ron's wisdom, courage and spirit of sacrifice on the chessboard. This caused cheers from the Gryffindor table. Ryan felt his face burning with excitement. Percy's voice came from the side: "It's my brother. He made it through Professor McGonagall's chessboard."
Then Dumbledore added another 30 points for Hermione's reasoning ability, and Hermione cried excitedly on the table. Finally, Harry added 60 points for Gryffindor because of his fearless courage and extraordinary courage.
Hearing this, the cheers at the Gryffindor table grew louder and louder, because now Gryffindor's score was 524 points, a full ten points higher than Slytherin.
Headmaster Dumbledore changed the decoration in the hall. The green hanging ribbons became bright red, and the silver became gold. The huge Slytherin snake disappeared and was replaced by a majestic Gryffindor lion. Ryan saw Snape shaking hands with Professor McGonagall, forcing an awkward smile on his face.
Then there was a sumptuous dinner, and it was truly a wonderful evening.
A few days later, the final results were announced, and Ryan ranked second. The first place was naturally the academic genius Hermione. He saw Hermione ran to him to show off her report card to avenge her always being the second in elementary school.
However, the final exams at Hogwarts didn't seem to be very difficult, and everyone passed them. However, Harry and the others expressed regret that some stupid Slytherin students were able to pass the exams.
The last semester was over, and everything was stuffed into suitcases. A notice was also sent to every student that magic was not allowed during the holidays. (Ryan: "I have plenty of places to practice magic anyway.")
Hagrid was in charge of leading them to the fleet that would take them across the lake. Now, they were on the Hogwarts Express, chatting and laughing all the way, watching the countryside outside the window become greener and neater. The train passed through Muggle towns, they ate Beebe Every Flavour Beans, took off their wizard robes, and put on jackets and short coats; finally, the train stopped at Platform 9 and 3/4 of King's Cross Station.
It took them a long time to get out of the platform. A wizened old guard stood guard at the ticket gate, and only two or three people were allowed through at a time, so that they wouldn't have a large number of people entering and exiting the solid walls at the same time and attracting the attention of the Muggles.
"You must come over to our house this summer," said Ron, "all three of you - I'll send an owl to invite you." "Thank you," said Harry, "I really need something to look forward to." It seemed that Harry was not having a good time at the Dursleys', and he really hoped that this holiday would be a little better for him.
Ryan and the others passed the exit together. He saw a little red-haired girl - probably Ron's sister Ginny, the future Mrs. Potter. She pointed at Harry Potter and said, "He's there, Mom, he's there, look!"
Mrs. Weasley and Harry then chatted about their well-being, but the Dursleys rudely interrupted the conversation. "Come on, boy, we can't afford to waste all day," said Mr. Dursley, and he turned and walked away.
"You live with them?" Ryan showed an incredulous expression, it was rare to see such a rude person. And Hermione showed the same expression: "I wish you a happy holiday - um -."
Fortunately, Harry seemed to be in good spirits: "Oh, I will be happy. They don't know that we are not allowed to use magic at home. This summer vacation, I will make Dudley happy."
