Chapter 46: End of Semester Trivia
Chapter 46: End of Semester Trivia
After everyone was lying down, Madam Pomfrey went to Ryan's bed first to check on him. After all, Ryan looked the most seriously injured.
After casting a spell on Ryan, Madam Pomfrey made an annoyed voice: "I don't know why the headmaster put so many dangerous things in the school, which resulted in students being injured. For example, Ryan, you have two broken ribs and two fractured bones on the right side, plus a lung contusion. This is not a minor injury."
"But you can definitely cure me, right?" Ryan said to Madam Pomfrey in a slightly flattering manner.
"Of course, your injuries are all external. They can be cured in one night. But you may need to stay here overnight." After that, she cast a spell to fix Ryan's ribs, and then threw out a hospital gown. "But seriously, for your age, your first aid skills are very good, and you have prevented more serious injuries from happening. Can I ask where you learned this?"
"You see, I am from China. My grandfather used to sell medicinal food in London's Chinatown and he also knows some Chinese medicine. I learned all this from him."
"Ah, I know. When I was at St. Mungo's, I heard some healers say that many of the traditional healing methods of Muggles in the Far East were taught to them by local wizards. That's a good place. For thousands of years, wizards have lived together harmoniously with ordinary people." Madam Pomfrey brought out a large bottle with the word "Bone Spirit" marked on it.
She poured a cup of liquid out and handed it to Ryan, who took the cup and drank it all. He felt like a flame burning from his mouth to his stomach, accompanied by some indescribable strange taste. It felt like a stronger version of Huoxiang Zhengqi Water.
Madam Pomfrey watched Ryan finish drinking the medicine and said, "Actually, I can use magic to fix the bones in one second, but that requires overdrawing your body. It would be better for your body if you take the medicine in your current state. Now you need to sleep in the school hospital for one night."
After that, Madam Pomfrey went to bandage Ron. Soon, Dumbledore used his wand to direct a stretcher to float over, with Harry Potter lying on it.
"Professor, is Harry okay?" Ryan and the others asked Professor Dumbledore. Professor Dumbledore told them not to worry, Harry just fainted due to some magical damage, and he would be fine after lying in bed and resting for a while.
After listening to this, Ryan said goodbye to Hermione who was going back to the dormitory. Then he chatted with Ron who also needed to be hospitalized for observation (because Madam Pomfrey suspected that Ron might have sequelae of concussion, she insisted that he be hospitalized for observation for one night.) Then they said good night to each other and turned over to sleep.
The next morning, Ryan visited Harry, who was still unconscious in the bed next to him, and after praying for him in his heart, he left the hospital with Ron.
The days that followed were rather boring, but it was worth mentioning that the last Quidditch match was held. Gryffindor lost miserably to Ravenclaw because they had no backup seekers. But everyone didn't seem too depressed, after all, the players had tried their best.
Every day at noon, Ryan and his three companions would go to the school hospital to inquire about Harry's condition. On the third day after the adventure, which was the day before the year-end banquet, Ryan and his companions went to the entrance of the school hospital to inquire about Madam Pomfrey. This time, Harry finally woke up.
Mrs. Pumphrey granted them five minutes' consolation, and they came to Harry's bed, where he lay half-lying on his pillows.
"Harry, are you feeling better now?" Ryan asked after stopping Hermione who was trying to hug Harry excitedly.
"I'm much better now. I think I'll be discharged from the hospital in the afternoon." Harry replied with a smile.
"Oh, Harry, we all thought you were going to - Dumbledore was so worried -" "The whole school is talking about it," Ron said, "What was going on?" Sometimes the truth of the story is stranger than the rumors, and Harry told them everything: Quirrell, the magic mirror, the Philosopher's Stone and Voldemort. Ryan and the others listened very attentively, and they gasped nervously every time they came to a thrilling place. When Harry talked about the face under Quirrell's turban, Hermione screamed.
"It seems that the man is back. We still can't let our guard down." Ryan concluded. The other people also nodded with understanding.
"So the Philosopher's Stone is gone?" Ron asked finally. "And Flamel is dying?" "That's what I said, but Dumbledore thought - what did he say? 'To the perfectly sane, death is just another great adventure.'"
"I told you he was a bit of a psycho," said Ron, shocked that his hero had become so irrational.
"No, I don't think so, it's just because we are too young to understand it." Ryan said. Then he turned to Hermione: "Remember the story of the girl Marpessa in Greek mythology?"
Hermione slapped her forehead and said, "Yes, according to legend, she gave up immortality because she thought she was mortal and needed the sorrows of the world. Although I can't understand it, I also know that immortality is not necessarily a completely good thing."
Harry and Ron looked confused. In order to hide the embarrassment, Ron quickly changed the subject and began to talk about what they did when Harry challenged the last level that day.
Finally, Ron said, "Tell me, did Dumbledore intend for you to do this? To give you your father's invisibility cloak and guide you to do that?"
"Well," said Hermione, unable to resist, "if he had been like that - I mean - it would have been horrible - you'd have been killed."
Ryan raised an objection: "I think Dumbledore may just want to guide and train Harry, but he didn't expect that person to get in this way. After all, the headmaster is just a powerful wizard, but he is not a god. It is impossible for him to know everything."
"I think Ryan is right." Harry said, "I think Dumbledore knows what we are doing, and he keeps guiding us and teaching us a lot in secret. After all, he thinks I have grown up to face Voldemort's problems and am no longer an ignorant child."
"So Dumbledore is the greatest wizard of this century." Ryan said, "But what you need most now is to recover quickly, because tomorrow is the end-of-year banquet. I heard from the seniors that this is one of the most sumptuous banquets in Hogwarts and you definitely can't miss it."
Just then Madam Pomfrey burst in.
"You have been here for nearly fifteen minutes, get out of here." She said firmly.
Ryan and the others could only say goodbye to Harry and leave the school hospital.
